How To Make Slime Essay
Do your kids like slime? If your kids like slime as much as my kids like slime then you will have to learn how to make it at home. It is fun to make. It's
super easy and just nice to know how to create slime in your very own home. I would recommend starting yourself a little recipe book for "Craft
Recipes" like these that you can quickly look up when you need to make a fresh batch. You can turn it into a craft or even a project. It is a great child
or adult's chemistry project.
I have heard of people making slime and packaging it nicely then selling it for a profit. It's low cost to make. Many people sell volume. You can
make many assorted colors or try funky ones like glow in the dark, glitter etc. These recipes in my opinion are better than the store–bought ones. You
will feel the difference and they last longer....show more content...
Not only are they fun be they can support the craft movement.
To get even more sales if you kick in so much of each sale towards your child's school, church etc it will make people want to buy yours over other
peoples because you support local causes and if they buy from you so do they.
The colors are also pleasing to the customer's eyes. Everybody seems to want to buy a child something at craft sales form mother's grandmas, aunts
and uncles to dads. Right now, slime is very trendy so the children do gravitate to slime tables because of the color and texture. They pick up a slime
nine times out of 10 and want it. And nine times out of ten they get what they want!
So let's get making some slime.Slimes now come in a large variety as in snow, glitter, slime generic, rainbow, sand, glow–in–the–dark. It's sloppy slimy
and its fun for everyone it'scool science and it's a good playtime craft in the kitchen. Go ahead get your hands a little wet and get out your borax,
glitter, glue, food coloring, and get ready to make many kinds of

Longer School Hours Research Paper
It has been proved to enhance learning dramatically when we add more hours to a school day. A school added ninety minutes of class time and almost
all the students improved their test scores and became better learners. Longer school days can also help parents by keeping their child occupied while
the parents are still working. If school days were longer it would provide more opportunities for electives such as the arts and physical activities.
Adding more time to school days might also help you become proficient at study skills and complete homework in school which would allow more
time to be dedicated to the family. When in school the one person who leaves the most impact on you time there is your teacher, with longer school

Essay on Lifelong Learning
Lifelong learning
Lifelong learning is the continuous building of skills and knowledge throughout the life of an individual. The first characteristic of lifelong learning is
that it encompasses both formal and non–formal/informal types of education and training. Formal learning includes the hierarchically structured school
system that runs from primary school through the university and organized school–like programs created in business for technical and professional
training. Whereas informal learning describes a lifelong process whereby individuals acquire attitudes, values, skills and knowledge from daily
experience and the educational influences and resources in his or her environment, from family and neighbors, from work and play,...show more

The computer industry is a growing field that will never stay the same as it was when it started. We will always need additional learning to be able
to keep our jobs or move up on the corporate ladder. We can learn about these changes by going back to school, going to workshops, or on the job
training if it is available. These opportunities are tools that will help you learn more about your job. The skills that you learn at one job will help you
advance in that position or get you another position with that company or another company. For example,
If you we are tired of being at that same died end job make that change and go back to school to get that additional education to pursue your dream that
you have. Working a job and having a career are two different things. After spend some years in the work force I decided to further my education. I
wanted a career that I can advance in and learn more.
The process of designing a lifelong learning plan begins with putting it in writing. This plan, sometimes called a learning contract, must be a dynamic
process intended to provide structure in an unstructured environment – known as everyday life.
Lifelong learning exists within this world, allowing learners the freedom to enroll in formal continuing education programs or self–directed learning
such as learning how to garden or play an instrument, as examples. A personal learning plan or learning contract should focus on the following four

Why We Should Make Longer School Days
School has always been seen as boring and unexciting by many students, so just the thought of making longer school days is unbelievable for some.
Many students, like me, believe that longer school days wouldn't be the best idea to improve overall student academic success. I believe that creating a
longer school day would prevent students participating in sports and other out of school interests. It also would be very expensive for the school to
create longer school days. One reason why we shouldn't even consider making longer school days is because it would cost the school a lot of money,
"The National Education Association estimates that the average added cost would be around $1,200 per student, per year for most school districts."
This means that the average cost per classroom would be an extra $27,720. Another shocking piece of evidence states that most states won't be able to
afford the expensenses. For example, "A report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office found that of the 36 states that received federal
School Improvement Grants and used some of that funding to extend the school day, only 10 said they would be able to do so after the grant money
runs out because of the cost." This shows that the costs for making longer school days would largely outweigh the benefits of longer...show more

Adding one or two hours might cause some after school activities to end. Also, lengthening school days will make it harder to do activities that can
help you learn different things. For example, "From sports to music to dance, many children participate in extracurricular activities designed to teach
them new skills and enrich their lives. A longer school day could make participating in extracurriculars more difficult" (Walden University). Clearly a
longer school day will make it harder for students to learn new skills in their

Poster Essay : How To Make A Poster
To make the poster I used a display board, cardboard paper, holographic letters, printer, google drawings, scissors, and double sided tape. First I put
the letters onto cardboard paper squares and taped them to the top of the display board. Next I went on the the drawing program google drawings. In
this program I created everything. From the treble clefs to the simple line I made everything using google drawings. After I created everything I
printed it off and cut it out. Next I cut out pieces of colorful cardboard paper and taped them to the printed paper. Finally I arranged them on the poster
board like how I wanted and taped them down. Now I will tell you about the information on the poster. In order for you to understand anything...show

It shows you how many beats are in a measure and which note gets the beat. How to read a time signature is pretty easy. The top number shows
how many beats are in the measure and the bottom number shows what note gets the beat. So that means that the one on the poster is saying that
there are 6 beats per measure and the eighth note gets the beat. Now that you know about the time signature I will tell you about the 3 basic notes.
First is the whole note. The whole note when played in 4/4 time has 4 beats and takes up the whole measure. The whole note is equal to 2 half
notes. A half note in 4/4 time has 2 beats. Next one whole note, and 2 half notes equal 4 quarter notes. A quarter note when played in 4/4 time
equals 1 beat. Although it isn't on the poster this continues. Finally to understand basic music you need to know about key signatures. A key
signature tells you to maintain those sharps or flats throughout the music, unless there's a natural symbol to override it. The key signatures on the
poster are just a few examples. First I will tell you about the one with sharps on it. There is the G Major in this major there is only one sharp the F.
Next there is the D Major the sharps are the F and C. Finally the last key signature with sharps is the A Major. It has the F, C, and G sharps. Next is
the key signature with flats on it. There is the F Major in this major there is only one flat the B. Next there is the Bb Major the flats are the B and E.

Why We Should Do Longer School Days Be Extended
(Brogan Lee–Pawlak) School days should not be extended at all. Students already have a lot of work with a regular school day, adding more time to
the day would give teachers the opportunity to give more homework. Students and teachers would not be motivated by the end of the day, therefore
less work would get done because the lack of energy. If the school days are moved to longer hours than none of the students would be able to do any
fun activities after school. Here is why everyone should protest against longer school days.
To start with, If school days are extended, students wouldn't have as much time
to do their homework. Teachers already pile students up with homework and projects, adding time to the school day would just allow

Why We Should Be Longer School Days
Every student loves the sound of the bell ringing at the end of the school day. Who decides how long you have to wait for the last bell? Who decides
when you go back to school from your fun summer break? Why can't we just have the bare minimum? Were about to find out.
The state set education guidelines that each student is required to meet, and eight hours is what Steele high school believes is the right amount of time
needed to reach the standards. The individual school districts and school boards decide the length of a school day, as there is no state regulation as to
how long the day must be.
While it would affect students, it would mainly serve as a way to close the achievement gap between students by allowing teachers to talk to each other
about students they share. That way they wouldn't have to wait until after school, when teachers may be tired or in a rush....show more content...
In Asia its 210 days and in China there are 230 days, In the United states, students spend about 75 percent of the time European students study.

Longer School Day Research Paper
A longer school day can make school a lot easier. To begin, longer school days would lead to less confused children. With more time in class,
teachers would have a longer time to explain confusing topic. Also teachers would be able to answer more questions that children have. With
longer classes a teacher would not only be able to fully explain the topic, but also children would have more time to work in class, and receive help
on the work they are doing. Next there would be less homework and it would be easier to do. If the day was longer there would be more time to do
homework in class. Therefore, it would be easier to do confusing homework because you would be with the teacher when you did it, so you could ask
questions. Also you would have

Why Extend School Longer?
Did you know the school board is thinking about making school longer? However, kids already stay in school for 8 hours a day. Therefore, they do
not need to stay in school for any longer. Mostly every student and teacher thinks that 8 hours is enough. The school board should not extend the
school days because it may cause students to be mentally exhausted, extracurricular activities will be in the morning or people can not do them, and it
may cause parents who drive their children to be late to work or students who have jobs after school.
First of all, one third of a school usually plays sports, and those sports are after school. So if the school board adds more time to the school day then
sports will be pushed back. If they are not pushed back then they are in the morning, and if they are in the morning then they mess up their whole
sleep schedule. Plays, extracurricular activities, and everything else taking place after school will also be effected if they increase the length of the
school day. If students participate in plays and other activities in the morning then that may have an effect on their sleep schedule, and it may cause
their brain to not be able to process as much so they will not remember....show more content...
A regular school day is 8 hours, but if they extend school to 10 hours students will not be used to it and stop listening. When that happens they will
not remember a lot of things, and their scores will go down. Also, they will have to not be able to do after school activities, and after school activities
can help students to make more friends. If they can not make more friends, then their social development will not grow and children need that in their
life if they want to have a successful

Why We Should Do Longer School Days Be Longer
Have you ever just wished your school day as shorter? In some schools children have longer school days. In Finland the school day is fifteen percent
shorter than the school day in the United States, but their test scores are much higher. People have different points of view on length of the school day
in America. Some people think that school days should be longer to improve academics for students."The US lags behind other countries in core
subjects. In 2015, American students came in 24th in reading, 25th in science, and 41st in math out of 72 countries–not the worst, but far from the
best," (pg. 30) Because the U.S.A is behind, many experts believe that students should go to school for an additional 90 minutes a day.U.S.A. Some

Extending Learning Time says,"What matters, they say, is not the number of hours spent in school. It is the quality of what happens while they are
there." In Finland students have less time in school, but have better test scores according to Should School Days Be Longer. Students can become
overwhelmed and stressed if the school day is longer. They are also really stressed. The American Psychological Association found that many
children stress levels rise during the school year at least a third of students said they were overwhelmed. Should School Days Be Longer says,"But
many kids already feel over–scheduled." Longer school days would probably make them more stressed. Some people might say teachers having a
longer school day could give teachers more time on harder subjects but, teachers have less time to prepare. Teachers need this planning for quality
learning. Also Dennis Hamel says,"Teachers worry they don't have time to work with students who are falling behind." His article also says,"But
extending a school day will not alone guarantee positive results. Other ways to help students, teachers, and families are needed." This will not improve
test scores alone because students need quality time instead of

Nutrition Project Plan Sample
To explain, I have developed this chart to help guide me in documenting improvements in my sister's diet. Thus, having these weekly milestones and
tasks, I can stay on schedule for my project plan as well as monitor her heart rate, physical speed of activities, mood/stress levels, and the intake of
her daily fruits and vegetables. Accordingly, I will monitor her heart rate and speed by using my apple watch, and her mood and stress level along with
her nutrient intake will be evaluated visually by myself and parents. With this intention, I can stay on track on my project plan and goals for her to
consume a healthier diet so she can have a stronger lifestyle. Important to remember, this evaluation will record weekly throughout the month, but

Since this is my project I will be putting forth half of the groceries for the food and my parents will be putting down the other half. Granted that, fruits
and vegetables are inexpensive, I have estimated that each week will cost an average $25 for her and myself for the food. Henceforth, I have
determined these costs by looking through grocery ads for an estimated budget on sales for preferred fruits and vegetable future purchases. In the
hope that, she will be more motivated in doing this if I do it with her, we will both not only have each other for the ride but will both benefit from
this. Because, the main focus is on my sister's diet, there are not any extra expenses required to deliver the completed project. Afterward, of
completing the first 30 days of the diet, I will be able to have to exact dollar amount used for the project and then can determine if I saved money or
need to budget more for next time. As has been noted, following the steps involved in project planning minimizes stress and improves implementation
along with communication among individuals and without these critical steps, I would not be able to have a successful

School has always been a safe haven for children to learn and grow, not only as students, but as individuals as well. However, as we grow older,
school becomes more of a tedious task, rather than a fun place to go to. From standardized tests, to finals and midterms, school weighs down on us
as a heavy burden. It has been under heavy debate on whether or not the school day is long enough. Generally starting at 8 A.M. , and finishing
around 3 P.M. , the school day lasts around seven hours, for kindergarten through twelfth grade. Many people believe that the day needs to be longer
in order to fit in all of the material students need to learn. However, would making the day longer really benefit anyone? With a longer school day,
students would be getting less sleep than they already do and the time being added would not be used in beneficial ways. A longer school day is not
only a bad idea, but is detrimental to the health and learning of students. To begin, one of the main reasons that the school day should not be extended,
is based on the fact that students will not be getting enough sleep. Mary Carskadon, a professor of psychiatry and human behavior at Brown
University, wrote in her article "Let Students Sleep" that "many adolescents are already in trouble because they get too little sleep." With a seven hour
school day alone, students are already struggling to get to bed at a reasonable hour, due to sports, extracurriculars, homework, and day–to–day
activities. Carskadon notes that good sleep "enhances" and "amplifies" what is learned the day before. Students running on less hours of sleep not only
perform badly in school, but tend to forget or struggle to recall what they've learned. To make the school day longer, it would either have to start earlier,
forcing students to wake up earlier, or finish later, pushing extracurriculars and homework later into the night. Students running on less sleep struggle to
recall what they learned and stay awake in school; thus, with a longer school day, students will be spending time trying to not fall asleep rather than
learning new, important material. As one can clearly tell, extending the school day will be detrimental to the health of students. Continuing on, many

When most people hear the term "writing", they don't really associate this with a single course that they have taken in high school or college. Rather,
most people view "writing" as a process that evolves as we become capable of thinking in more abstract manners. The effectiveness of our writing is
determined by our ability to think abstractly as well as how confident we are in our composition abilities. If we are lacking either of these two
qualities, then the quality of our writing will suffer. I feel as if my writing has greatly improved after taking English 103. Over the course of this
semester, my confidence in writing has improved greatly. In high school, I didn't really know how to write effectively. I wasn't really sure what was
considered to be "good writing" until I took AP* English. However, even while I was taking this "Advanced Placement" class, I was still trying to
figure out how to really create "good writing". I feel as if this had something to do with the fact that I never really had to work with the rules of
grammar intensively. After taking this course, however, I now have a muchbetter understanding of how to correctly use proper grammar. I also
improved on using transitional phrases in my writing. I have implemented my understanding of proper grammar and transitional phrases in both my
writing inside and outside of this class as a result. In looking back on the three essays that I wrote this semester, I did notice several changes and

Journaling Essay
Introduction
The intent of this evaluation of Langer's (2002) article is to find the schemes he employed to acquire knowledge on how adult's student respond to

journals in the field. The focal point of the study casts light on the strength and weaknesses portrayed in his report on the use of journaling among

Langer (2002) continues with proper context for reviewing different publications. The article has a flow and a remarkable transition from a definition
to another. For instance, based on a system of ideas or literature descriptions vary from theoretical enunciation as in "John Dewey and Jurgen
Habermas (1993) with the product of practice based on viewpoints, while SchГ¶n sees it as research–in–action" (as cited in Langer, 2003, p. 338).
In the literature review section, Langer, (2002) introduces a clear summary and perspectives of other authors about journals as learning instruments.
For instance, in the second paragraph, the third sentence on page 338, in the concept of reflection in learning, producing the proper learning
atmosphere is the educational task (Langer, 2002). In other words, Abbas and Gilmer (1997, as cited in Langer, 2002) regardless of the course,
students extend their awareness by keeping a diary (p. 338). The analysis of relevant literature forms the groundwork of the survey; the value that
journals bring in understanding, the learning process, and the process of changing from principle to performance (Langer, 2002, p. 339). In this case,
journal usage by instructors, improves cognitive development in the of science,

There are many effects that a longer school day present. Many people in the community are affected. Students, teachers and family are only some of
the people. Longer school days can bring health risks to the students and teachers. With an extra hour of school, students that live in the country or in
rural areas can be putting in twelve hour days. This is not good for the health of a teenager that needs sleep in order to grow and energy for exercise
and learning. Children, such as students in Kindergarten up to sixth grade, still need sleep. With an extra hour ofschool in place, burnout can take place

article, Pros Vs. Cons of Extended School Days, states, "One of the most important aspects of making changes in the amount of time spent in school
that is often overlooked is the impact on families. The Andover Townsman online newspaper of Andover, Mass., reports families in its school districts

Process Essay: Longer Hair In The Summer
Having longer hair in the summer can make you quite uncomfortable. It's hot and heavy, it stick to your face when you're outdoors, humidity can
cause hair to frizz and curl and often times, summer weather leaves long hair limp and lifeless. I have a few solutions to manage your long locks.
Pulling your hair up during the summer is really the only way to avoid having it cling to your face and make your overheated. But you don't have to
be sloppy about it, tied back hair can be classy and beautiful. My number one hairstyle for summer is a classic ponytail. I style my hair as usual,

There were variations on this style, some very neat and almost austere, others quite loose and "messy". Either way, the high–bun hairstyle is a "must" as
a foil to the spring line of breezy, free–flowing designs that were seen on the runway. When you think of a high–bun hairstyle, you automatically think
of ballerinas. In fact, the ballerina topnot is quite the "in" look for spring 2010. Of course, most ballerinas secure their topnots with almost invisible
hair netting so that it withstands the rigors of dance moves. Unless you plan on pirouetting on a dance stage, you can probably skip the hair net. Here's

Secure it in place with hairpins and/or bobby pins. Do the same thing with the other two sections. Use many, many hairpins and bobby pins. That's the
key to a secure hold. Now spray the topknot generously with hairspray. Do one last upward smoothing of the sides with smoothing gel. Secure any

School Should Be Longer Research
Do you think the school year should be longer? I sure don't. Well, imagine you're getting ready for an after school activity, like football practice. You
get to the locker room and put all your gear on, you quickly check your phone it's 7:00. So then you jog out to the field and begin. By the time you get
home, eat supper, and then start your homework it is 8:30. This is what might happen if the school day was longer. Or imagine a hot day in June and
you want to cool off in the pool, but you are stuck at school in a boring class. Does not sound like fun. Just saying, more time in school does not mean
more learning. Something else is, more time in class means less time for activities outside of school, like football or swimming. And,...show more

In my opinion, new teaching strategies would help more than more length to the school year. According to Carla Rivera of the Los Angeles Times
who wrote "Ed research varies over whether extending the calendar year leads to increased student achievement. Expanded time with the same
teachers and curriculum doesn't automatically mean increased test scores." So, ten more minutes will not make me any smarter. I believe worthwhile
results for many students did happen because our teachers looked at the specific needs for their students at school. I know the students in my class go
to get extra help on their special needs. Most of our teachers work really hard to learn and use new teaching strategies. And I know our superior
Marshalltown teachers are doing a superb job.
Equally important, activities outside of school would be shortened if the school day or year was longer. For me, that means my time for, in my
opinion, the best sport ever, football would be shorter, even though it is already really short. Besides kids need to learn to make their own decisions.
For me that means, I have to think about exercising, nutrition, and showing up on time and being ready to

How To Make Slime Essay

  • 1. How To Make Slime Essay Do your kids like slime? If your kids like slime as much as my kids like slime then you will have to learn how to make it at home. It is fun to make. It's super easy and just nice to know how to create slime in your very own home. I would recommend starting yourself a little recipe book for "Craft Recipes" like these that you can quickly look up when you need to make a fresh batch. You can turn it into a craft or even a project. It is a great child or adult's chemistry project. I have heard of people making slime and packaging it nicely then selling it for a profit. It's low cost to make. Many people sell volume. You can make many assorted colors or try funky ones like glow in the dark, glitter etc. These recipes in my opinion are better than the store–bought ones. You will feel the difference and they last longer....show more content... Not only are they fun be they can support the craft movement. To get even more sales if you kick in so much of each sale towards your child's school, church etc it will make people want to buy yours over other peoples because you support local causes and if they buy from you so do they. The colors are also pleasing to the customer's eyes. Everybody seems to want to buy a child something at craft sales form mother's grandmas, aunts and uncles to dads. Right now, slime is very trendy so the children do gravitate to slime tables because of the color and texture. They pick up a slime nine times out of 10 and want it. And nine times out of ten they get what they want! So let's get making some slime.Slimes now come in a large variety as in snow, glitter, slime generic, rainbow, sand, glow–in–the–dark. It's sloppy slimy and its fun for everyone it'scool science and it's a good playtime craft in the kitchen. Go ahead get your hands a little wet and get out your borax, glitter, glue, food coloring, and get ready to make many kinds of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Longer School Hours Research Paper It has been proved to enhance learning dramatically when we add more hours to a school day. A school added ninety minutes of class time and almost all the students improved their test scores and became better learners. Longer school days can also help parents by keeping their child occupied while the parents are still working. If school days were longer it would provide more opportunities for electives such as the arts and physical activities. Adding more time to school days might also help you become proficient at study skills and complete homework in school which would allow more time to be dedicated to the family. When in school the one person who leaves the most impact on you time there is your teacher, with longer school days it allows Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Essay on Lifelong Learning Lifelong learning Lifelong learning is the continuous building of skills and knowledge throughout the life of an individual. The first characteristic of lifelong learning is that it encompasses both formal and non–formal/informal types of education and training. Formal learning includes the hierarchically structured school system that runs from primary school through the university and organized school–like programs created in business for technical and professional training. Whereas informal learning describes a lifelong process whereby individuals acquire attitudes, values, skills and knowledge from daily experience and the educational influences and resources in his or her environment, from family and neighbors, from work and play,...show more content... The computer industry is a growing field that will never stay the same as it was when it started. We will always need additional learning to be able to keep our jobs or move up on the corporate ladder. We can learn about these changes by going back to school, going to workshops, or on the job training if it is available. These opportunities are tools that will help you learn more about your job. The skills that you learn at one job will help you advance in that position or get you another position with that company or another company. For example, If you we are tired of being at that same died end job make that change and go back to school to get that additional education to pursue your dream that you have. Working a job and having a career are two different things. After spend some years in the work force I decided to further my education. I wanted a career that I can advance in and learn more. The process of designing a lifelong learning plan begins with putting it in writing. This plan, sometimes called a learning contract, must be a dynamic process intended to provide structure in an unstructured environment – known as everyday life. Lifelong learning exists within this world, allowing learners the freedom to enroll in formal continuing education programs or self–directed learning such as learning how to garden or play an instrument, as examples. A personal learning plan or learning contract should focus on the following four Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Why We Should Make Longer School Days School has always been seen as boring and unexciting by many students, so just the thought of making longer school days is unbelievable for some. Many students, like me, believe that longer school days wouldn't be the best idea to improve overall student academic success. I believe that creating a longer school day would prevent students participating in sports and other out of school interests. It also would be very expensive for the school to create longer school days. One reason why we shouldn't even consider making longer school days is because it would cost the school a lot of money, "The National Education Association estimates that the average added cost would be around $1,200 per student, per year for most school districts." This means that the average cost per classroom would be an extra $27,720. Another shocking piece of evidence states that most states won't be able to afford the expensenses. For example, "A report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office found that of the 36 states that received federal School Improvement Grants and used some of that funding to extend the school day, only 10 said they would be able to do so after the grant money runs out because of the cost." This shows that the costs for making longer school days would largely outweigh the benefits of longer...show more content... Adding one or two hours might cause some after school activities to end. Also, lengthening school days will make it harder to do activities that can help you learn different things. For example, "From sports to music to dance, many children participate in extracurricular activities designed to teach them new skills and enrich their lives. A longer school day could make participating in extracurriculars more difficult" (Walden University). Clearly a longer school day will make it harder for students to learn new skills in their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Poster Essay : How To Make A Poster To make the poster I used a display board, cardboard paper, holographic letters, printer, google drawings, scissors, and double sided tape. First I put the letters onto cardboard paper squares and taped them to the top of the display board. Next I went on the the drawing program google drawings. In this program I created everything. From the treble clefs to the simple line I made everything using google drawings. After I created everything I printed it off and cut it out. Next I cut out pieces of colorful cardboard paper and taped them to the printed paper. Finally I arranged them on the poster board like how I wanted and taped them down. Now I will tell you about the information on the poster. In order for you to understand anything...show more content... It shows you how many beats are in a measure and which note gets the beat. How to read a time signature is pretty easy. The top number shows how many beats are in the measure and the bottom number shows what note gets the beat. So that means that the one on the poster is saying that there are 6 beats per measure and the eighth note gets the beat. Now that you know about the time signature I will tell you about the 3 basic notes. First is the whole note. The whole note when played in 4/4 time has 4 beats and takes up the whole measure. The whole note is equal to 2 half notes. A half note in 4/4 time has 2 beats. Next one whole note, and 2 half notes equal 4 quarter notes. A quarter note when played in 4/4 time equals 1 beat. Although it isn't on the poster this continues. Finally to understand basic music you need to know about key signatures. A key signature tells you to maintain those sharps or flats throughout the music, unless there's a natural symbol to override it. The key signatures on the poster are just a few examples. First I will tell you about the one with sharps on it. There is the G Major in this major there is only one sharp the F. Next there is the D Major the sharps are the F and C. Finally the last key signature with sharps is the A Major. It has the F, C, and G sharps. Next is the key signature with flats on it. There is the F Major in this major there is only one flat the B. Next there is the Bb Major the flats are the B and E. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Why We Should Do Longer School Days Be Extended (Brogan Lee–Pawlak) School days should not be extended at all. Students already have a lot of work with a regular school day, adding more time to the day would give teachers the opportunity to give more homework. Students and teachers would not be motivated by the end of the day, therefore less work would get done because the lack of energy. If the school days are moved to longer hours than none of the students would be able to do any fun activities after school. Here is why everyone should protest against longer school days. To start with, If school days are extended, students wouldn't have as much time to do their homework. Teachers already pile students up with homework and projects, adding time to the school day would just allow Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Why We Should Be Longer School Days Every student loves the sound of the bell ringing at the end of the school day. Who decides how long you have to wait for the last bell? Who decides when you go back to school from your fun summer break? Why can't we just have the bare minimum? Were about to find out. The state set education guidelines that each student is required to meet, and eight hours is what Steele high school believes is the right amount of time needed to reach the standards. The individual school districts and school boards decide the length of a school day, as there is no state regulation as to how long the day must be. While it would affect students, it would mainly serve as a way to close the achievement gap between students by allowing teachers to talk to each other about students they share. That way they wouldn't have to wait until after school, when teachers may be tired or in a rush....show more content... In Asia its 210 days and in China there are 230 days, In the United states, students spend about 75 percent of the time European students study. Overall, I think school should be longer but with fewer days, eight hours just seems like way too long to be in school, by sixth period your brain has shut down and you're tired and ready to go Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Longer School Day Research Paper A longer school day can make school a lot easier. To begin, longer school days would lead to less confused children. With more time in class, teachers would have a longer time to explain confusing topic. Also teachers would be able to answer more questions that children have. With longer classes a teacher would not only be able to fully explain the topic, but also children would have more time to work in class, and receive help on the work they are doing. Next there would be less homework and it would be easier to do. If the day was longer there would be more time to do homework in class. Therefore, it would be easier to do confusing homework because you would be with the teacher when you did it, so you could ask questions. Also you would have Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Why Extend School Longer? Did you know the school board is thinking about making school longer? However, kids already stay in school for 8 hours a day. Therefore, they do not need to stay in school for any longer. Mostly every student and teacher thinks that 8 hours is enough. The school board should not extend the school days because it may cause students to be mentally exhausted, extracurricular activities will be in the morning or people can not do them, and it may cause parents who drive their children to be late to work or students who have jobs after school. First of all, one third of a school usually plays sports, and those sports are after school. So if the school board adds more time to the school day then sports will be pushed back. If they are not pushed back then they are in the morning, and if they are in the morning then they mess up their whole sleep schedule. Plays, extracurricular activities, and everything else taking place after school will also be effected if they increase the length of the school day. If students participate in plays and other activities in the morning then that may have an effect on their sleep schedule, and it may cause their brain to not be able to process as much so they will not remember....show more content... A regular school day is 8 hours, but if they extend school to 10 hours students will not be used to it and stop listening. When that happens they will not remember a lot of things, and their scores will go down. Also, they will have to not be able to do after school activities, and after school activities can help students to make more friends. If they can not make more friends, then their social development will not grow and children need that in their life if they want to have a successful Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Why We Should Do Longer School Days Be Longer Have you ever just wished your school day as shorter? In some schools children have longer school days. In Finland the school day is fifteen percent shorter than the school day in the United States, but their test scores are much higher. People have different points of view on length of the school day in America. Some people think that school days should be longer to improve academics for students."The US lags behind other countries in core subjects. In 2015, American students came in 24th in reading, 25th in science, and 41st in math out of 72 countries–not the worst, but far from the best," (pg. 30) Because the U.S.A is behind, many experts believe that students should go to school for an additional 90 minutes a day.U.S.A. Some experts...show more content... Extending Learning Time says,"What matters, they say, is not the number of hours spent in school. It is the quality of what happens while they are there." In Finland students have less time in school, but have better test scores according to Should School Days Be Longer. Students can become overwhelmed and stressed if the school day is longer. They are also really stressed. The American Psychological Association found that many children stress levels rise during the school year at least a third of students said they were overwhelmed. Should School Days Be Longer says,"But many kids already feel over–scheduled." Longer school days would probably make them more stressed. Some people might say teachers having a longer school day could give teachers more time on harder subjects but, teachers have less time to prepare. Teachers need this planning for quality learning. Also Dennis Hamel says,"Teachers worry they don't have time to work with students who are falling behind." His article also says,"But extending a school day will not alone guarantee positive results. Other ways to help students, teachers, and families are needed." This will not improve test scores alone because students need quality time instead of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 12. Nutrition Project Plan Sample To explain, I have developed this chart to help guide me in documenting improvements in my sister's diet. Thus, having these weekly milestones and tasks, I can stay on schedule for my project plan as well as monitor her heart rate, physical speed of activities, mood/stress levels, and the intake of her daily fruits and vegetables. Accordingly, I will monitor her heart rate and speed by using my apple watch, and her mood and stress level along with her nutrient intake will be evaluated visually by myself and parents. With this intention, I can stay on track on my project plan and goals for her to consume a healthier diet so she can have a stronger lifestyle. Important to remember, this evaluation will record weekly throughout the month, but ...show more content... Since this is my project I will be putting forth half of the groceries for the food and my parents will be putting down the other half. Granted that, fruits and vegetables are inexpensive, I have estimated that each week will cost an average $25 for her and myself for the food. Henceforth, I have determined these costs by looking through grocery ads for an estimated budget on sales for preferred fruits and vegetable future purchases. In the hope that, she will be more motivated in doing this if I do it with her, we will both not only have each other for the ride but will both benefit from this. Because, the main focus is on my sister's diet, there are not any extra expenses required to deliver the completed project. Afterward, of completing the first 30 days of the diet, I will be able to have to exact dollar amount used for the project and then can determine if I saved money or need to budget more for next time. As has been noted, following the steps involved in project planning minimizes stress and improves implementation along with communication among individuals and without these critical steps, I would not be able to have a successful Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. School has always been a safe haven for children to learn and grow, not only as students, but as individuals as well. However, as we grow older, school becomes more of a tedious task, rather than a fun place to go to. From standardized tests, to finals and midterms, school weighs down on us as a heavy burden. It has been under heavy debate on whether or not the school day is long enough. Generally starting at 8 A.M. , and finishing around 3 P.M. , the school day lasts around seven hours, for kindergarten through twelfth grade. Many people believe that the day needs to be longer in order to fit in all of the material students need to learn. However, would making the day longer really benefit anyone? With a longer school day, students would be getting less sleep than they already do and the time being added would not be used in beneficial ways. A longer school day is not only a bad idea, but is detrimental to the health and learning of students. To begin, one of the main reasons that the school day should not be extended, is based on the fact that students will not be getting enough sleep. Mary Carskadon, a professor of psychiatry and human behavior at Brown University, wrote in her article "Let Students Sleep" that "many adolescents are already in trouble because they get too little sleep." With a seven hour school day alone, students are already struggling to get to bed at a reasonable hour, due to sports, extracurriculars, homework, and day–to–day activities. Carskadon notes that good sleep "enhances" and "amplifies" what is learned the day before. Students running on less hours of sleep not only perform badly in school, but tend to forget or struggle to recall what they've learned. To make the school day longer, it would either have to start earlier, forcing students to wake up earlier, or finish later, pushing extracurriculars and homework later into the night. Students running on less sleep struggle to recall what they learned and stay awake in school; thus, with a longer school day, students will be spending time trying to not fall asleep rather than learning new, important material. As one can clearly tell, extending the school day will be detrimental to the health of students. Continuing on, many Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. When most people hear the term "writing", they don't really associate this with a single course that they have taken in high school or college. Rather, most people view "writing" as a process that evolves as we become capable of thinking in more abstract manners. The effectiveness of our writing is determined by our ability to think abstractly as well as how confident we are in our composition abilities. If we are lacking either of these two qualities, then the quality of our writing will suffer. I feel as if my writing has greatly improved after taking English 103. Over the course of this semester, my confidence in writing has improved greatly. In high school, I didn't really know how to write effectively. I wasn't really sure what was considered to be "good writing" until I took AP* English. However, even while I was taking this "Advanced Placement" class, I was still trying to figure out how to really create "good writing". I feel as if this had something to do with the fact that I never really had to work with the rules of grammar intensively. After taking this course, however, I now have a muchbetter understanding of how to correctly use proper grammar. I also improved on using transitional phrases in my writing. I have implemented my understanding of proper grammar and transitional phrases in both my writing inside and outside of this class as a result. In looking back on the three essays that I wrote this semester, I did notice several changes and improvements in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Langer (2002) continues with proper context for reviewing different publications. The article has a flow and a remarkable transition from a definition to another. For instance, based on a system of ideas or literature descriptions vary from theoretical enunciation as in "John Dewey and Jurgen Habermas (1993) with the product of practice based on viewpoints, while SchГ¶n sees it as research–in–action" (as cited in Langer, 2003, p. 338). In the literature review section, Langer, (2002) introduces a clear summary and perspectives of other authors about journals as learning instruments. For instance, in the second paragraph, the third sentence on page 338, in the concept of reflection in learning, producing the proper learning atmosphere is the educational task (Langer, 2002). In other words, Abbas and Gilmer (1997, as cited in Langer, 2002) regardless of the course, students extend their awareness by keeping a diary (p. 338). The analysis of relevant literature forms the groundwork of the survey; the value that journals bring in understanding, the learning process, and the process of changing from principle to performance (Langer, 2002, p. 339). • 17. Process Essay: Longer Hair In The Summer Having longer hair in the summer can make you quite uncomfortable. It's hot and heavy, it stick to your face when you're outdoors, humidity can cause hair to frizz and curl and often times, summer weather leaves long hair limp and lifeless. I have a few solutions to manage your long locks. Pulling your hair up during the summer is really the only way to avoid having it cling to your face and make your overheated. But you don't have to be sloppy about it, tied back hair can be classy and beautiful. My number one hairstyle for summer is a classic ponytail. I style my hair as usual, straightening it with a flat iron and then I brush it back to the crown of my head and tie it with a hair elastic. I brush the ponytail down and use a dab of smoothing...show more content... There were variations on this style, some very neat and almost austere, others quite loose and "messy". Either way, the high–bun hairstyle is a "must" as a foil to the spring line of breezy, free–flowing designs that were seen on the runway. When you think of a high–bun hairstyle, you automatically think of ballerinas. In fact, the ballerina topnot is quite the "in" look for spring 2010. Of course, most ballerinas secure their topnots with almost invisible hair netting so that it withstands the rigors of dance moves. Unless you plan on pirouetting on a dance stage, you can probably skip the hair net. Here's what you will need to make a high–bun hairstyle: Elastic hairband Bobby pins Hairpins, U–shaped Smoothing hair gel Hairspray Comb Brush Handheld mirror Gather hair upward as you brush it into a smooth, high ponytail. Smooth any stray hairs with a smoothing gel such as Frizz–Ease, a John Frieda product available at most supermarkets and drugstores. Divide the ponytail into three sections. Pick up one section and coil it around. Secure it in place with hairpins and/or bobby pins. Do the same thing with the other two sections. Use many, many hairpins and bobby pins. That's the key to a secure hold. Now spray the topknot generously with hairspray. Do one last upward smoothing of the sides with smoothing gel. • 18. School Should Be Longer Research Do you think the school year should be longer? I sure don't. Well, imagine you're getting ready for an after school activity, like football practice. You get to the locker room and put all your gear on, you quickly check your phone it's 7:00. So then you jog out to the field and begin. By the time you get home, eat supper, and then start your homework it is 8:30. This is what might happen if the school day was longer. Or imagine a hot day in June and you want to cool off in the pool, but you are stuck at school in a boring class. Does not sound like fun. Just saying, more time in school does not mean more learning. Something else is, more time in class means less time for activities outside of school, like football or swimming. And,...show more content... In my opinion, new teaching strategies would help more than more length to the school year. According to Carla Rivera of the Los Angeles Times who wrote "Ed research varies over whether extending the calendar year leads to increased student achievement. Expanded time with the same teachers and curriculum doesn't automatically mean increased test scores." So, ten more minutes will not make me any smarter. I believe worthwhile results for many students did happen because our teachers looked at the specific needs for their students at school. I know the students in my class go to get extra help on their special needs. Most of our teachers work really hard to learn and use new teaching strategies. And I know our superior Marshalltown teachers are doing a superb job. Equally important, activities outside of school would be shortened if the school day or year was longer. For me, that means my time for, in my opinion, the best sport ever, football would be shorter, even though it is already really short. Besides kids need to learn to make their own decisions. For me that means, I have to think about exercising, nutrition, and showing up on time and being ready to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
