Persuasive Essay On Time Management
Have you ever had an essay due in three weeks and thought to yourself, "I've got time. I'll just do it later"? Does staying up studying for an exam until
3 am in the morning sound familiar? How about running to class because you were working on a project until the very last second? If any of these
unfortunate situations sound relatively familiar, you have endured the horrendous event of procrastination at some point of your jam–packed life. The
one secret that nobody is enforcing on your young life is the extreme power of time management. In Chapter 5, the topics we address are as follows:
The truth behind time management and procrastination. How to avoid procrastination. Understanding that making time for one is not only useful for
academic purposes, but for entertainment purposes as well. The correlation between time management and a productive/healthy student. There are a
vast majority of problems that students may encounter when transitioning from high school to college. For starters, college is extremely fast paced.
Because students do not attend the same class every day, professors will expect you to be able to work at a much faster pace in order learn all the
topics that need to be taught for the class. In order to get all the key points across, there are many weekly readings that professors assign to their
students. While many students coming in to college may already be used to reading outside of the classroom, the amount of reading and the difficulty of

Persuasive Essay : The Way To Change The World
Changing the world is a heavy topic. From a young age, people are told that they can change the world, all they have to do is put their minds to it.
What they weren't told was changing the world isn't very easy. As someone once said, "If you do what you always did, you will get what you
always got" (Brainy Quotes). This unnamed person is correct in their thinking, now the problem is how do I change what I am doing to get different
results. Well if a person really wants to change the world they will have to change the way they think and act. Even though it's difficult to change
oneself that is the only way to change the world. Why change the way I think, I mean I don't think anything really bad? Maybe the things people think
about aren't bad, but even Jimi Hendrix said: "In order to change the world, you have to get your head together first." (Brainy Quotes) Even if someone
thinks they are pretty okay inside their mind changes are that they actually aren't okay. In Dead Poets Society Mr. Keating said " I stand upon my desk
to remind myself that we must constantly look at things in a different way.... Just when you think you know something you have to look at it from
another way" (Weir). Even though he might have thought he had good thinking he would change his perspective to see something from a new way
which ultimately changes his thinking. But not only do you have to change how you think, but you have to be doing it for the right reasons while
doing the things you're

Persuasive Essay On Sexual Orientation
Love is a tricky topic. Many have been persecuted because of who they have loved. A common debate in society is that sexual orientation is a choice.
Nurture will say that the environment around a person plays a role, and nature will say that sexual orientation has to do with science. The nurture
argument is a common viewpoint because many can never imagine liking the same–sex, but then why is the nature viewpoint scientifically backed up?
Before jumping into each argument, sexual orientation needs to be defined. "Sexual orientation is about who you're attracted to and want to have
relationships with," according to Planned Parenthood (Parenthood). Sexual orientation is not the same as gender identity. Sexual orientation has to do
with who a person is attracted to, and gender identity is about what gender a person identifies with. There are many different labels that people put on
people who have a different sexual orientation than what is considered the common, which is a heterosexual relationship. The most common two are
gays for men who like men, and lesbians who are women that like women. There are also people who identify as bisexual meaning they like both
male and female. Another group that has a different sexual orientation is people who are attracted to more than just the average male and female, they
can be attracted to basically anyone, which includes people who are transgender, genderqueer, or intersex. They are named pansexual or queer. Lastly,
there are people

Persuasive Essay About The Future
What are you going to be when you grow up? The go–to inquiry of almost every adult in a child's life. It is asked almost in a whimsical way in the
first few years; often met with innocently ambitious responses such as an astronaut or a deep sea diver. With most kids, myself included, the answer
changed several times throughout grade school. My starry eyed dreams of becoming an archeologist soon shifted to architect, and then to wilderness
firefighter, then soldier, policeman, engineer, and so on. I could be anything i could dream up in this world and i had forever to decide. However,
there comes a point in every teenager's life where the question of the future starts to scare you. This distant future is now becoming a very real thing
that needs to be figured out and planned, because it's almost time to make that next step. I've always heard it said that high school will be the quickest
four years of your life. I had no idea just how fast until it was time for me to start preparing for the real world. Over the past two years, i've really
done some "soul searching" so to speak, and I believe that i've found out what i'm going to do for the rest of my life. Now i know that whatever
teacher got selected to read through the stacks of senior essays that contained my piece is probably laughing at that last bit. If only i knew right? But
just hear me out. My goal is to become a pilot for the United States Marine Corps. From a very young age, the idea of flight has fascinated me.

Procrastination
I.Attention Getter: A famous author by the name of Wayne Dyer once said, "Procrastination is one of the most common and deadliest of diseases and
its toll on success and happiness is incredibly heavy."(1) In todays society it seems as if procrastination has become a normal and acceptable thing to do.
It is often joked about amongst schoolmates and co–workers around the world. Nothing seems to get done until it absolutely needs to get done, then
everyone runs around getting things done quickly and often times inaccurately. The trouble with this mentality however is that some things will never
get done because something will come up tomorrow or the next day and what you are putting off now gets pushed even further back. Today I will
persuade you to stop this habit from continuing. I will be explaining the problems we face when dealing with procrastination as well as how to deal
with it and actions you can take to prevent it in the future.
Transition: It is in our human nature to procrastinate, some of us do it more than others but learning about this problem and understanding how it can
effect you can be beneficial to everyone
II.Need(the Problem): According to an article from Psychology Today, "20 percent of people chronically avoid difficult tasks and deliberately look for
distractions" (2) and According to recent research "Procrastination has more than quadrupled in the last 30

Persuasive Essay On Respect
As children we are taught to always show respect to those around us. We are taught to never say no to an adult, to listen and to use manners to
everyone around us. But as we grow older we develop a sense of rebelliousness, and an urge to question every single moral and value we have learned.
So the burning question arises: Should respect be given to everyone no matter what, or is it something that needs to be earned? I believe that respect
is a given. Like a natural right, it is born with it, and it is your choice whether you can gain more or lose it. People around the world have been
fighting all around the world for equality. Isn't that the same as respect? We have been fighting for respect this whole time, so why should we
suddenly discriminate every organism on this planet. Everyone has a side of insecurity and if we keep making people feel ashamed of that, there
would be no respect. Respect is what separates me from you, him from her. But shouldn't everyone get respect no matter the case? From CEOs to retail
workers?
According to The Positivity Solution, an organization dedicated to spread positivity, dignity, and kindness, "Rudeness is often a by–product of a lack of
respect. Not to sound like Captain Obvious here, but most people don't choose to be rude and disrespectful to people who they respect, do they?".
What they are trying to convey is that people often don't give everyone the respect they deserve. When we do not give people respect, we lose
respect for ourselves and become rude in other people's eyes. As we learn to realize that everyone deserves respect, we can see that even the most
small things can earn our attention. If you are consciously deciding to give people respect or not, that is a mistake. Why do people need your acceptance
to be treated equally? They do not. And if you are making a choice based on shallow judgment, you are destroying the love and kindness that others
have shown to you. To be critical like that is unacceptable and wrong universally.
"A person's a person, no matter how small" said Dr. Suess, an award winning children's books writer. Everyone wants to be accepted, some people at all
costs. But would we like to see these people struggle to work there way up and

Transition Procedures
Procedures for Transition Transition is a period of changing from one state or condition to another. To elaborate more, transition occurs when the
students leave their classroom for lunch or to use the restrooms. To move from one class to another or from one learning center to another are all
considers as transitions. However, with all this moving requires procedures. According to Marzano (2005), regardless of the grade level, every teacher
needs to deal with certain interruptions and transitions both within the classroom and from the classroom to other areas of the school or school grounds.
This is because moving around could cause a lot of distractions within class. For students who have difficulty in learning, they could easily distract

Appropriate Usage Of Transition Words
Lastly, the use of incorrect transition words was annotated in Essay 1: Facing Uncertainty with Curiosity. The improper use of a transitional word
may make the meaning or direction of your paper differ from what is intended. Properly used transitional words or phrases are designed to transition
between sequence of evens or places. Additionally, transitional words or phrases can effectively relate to a reader how one thing can lead to another,
to emphasis contrast between two ideas and add purpose to the writers intended point of view. Appropriate usage of transition words is essential in
relaying progression within writing.

Transition To College Essay
A fork in the road only appears as such when both paths are seen as viable options; yet, once one path becomes seen as the only one, the other
devolves into a deviation. Where the aberration would require justification to travel down, the perceived correct course would require justification to
not travel down. This is precisely how the false question of attending college was presented to me: it was a matter of when not if. Upon inheriting
white looking skin, a middle class family, and a pat on the back for bringing home white sheets of papers with little red "A"s written in the top right
corner, it was ascertained that I was to be a productive and successful engineer after paying for college with hard–won scholarship money. In short,
there were several socio–economic factors that contributed to my eventual position in college. Beginning with the fatalistic discourse utilized by my
family, peers, and educators, I internalized such thoughts, and implicitly understood that, quite naturally, I would make the predestined transition to
college from high school. Finding...show more content...
Even though before 2008 I was still inundated with symbolic reasons as to why not attending college wasn't an option, the actualizing of major
financial insecurity and job insecurity backed up a fate with a fear of concrete precariousness. It was akin to sex–education by traumatizing worst–case
scenario pictures: teaching through fear. Headlines of crashing stock prices, foreclosed homes, and titles reading "The Bachelor's Degree is the new
High School diploma" filled the news channels my mother had playing constantly, and I subconsciously became afraid of not attending college. As with
all fallacious fear–mongering, I implicitly assumed that the other path, was one riddled with danger and certain

How To Write A Persuasive Essay
Writing essay is one of the things that I used to dislike before. For me, writing an essay was a difficult and boring thing. However, I change my
mind when I was doing the assignment, "Persuasive Essay". This essay is my first English essay, and it was a quite challenging task for me. In this
assignment , I learned a lot. For example, to use the transition words to connect each paragraph. Also, to use other writer's words to make my idea be
more powerful. Thus, this assignment improves my writing skills a lot. Before, I didn't know that I have to use the transition words in an essay. For me,
an essay is constituted by many single paragraphs. However, everything is different when I was doing this assignment, Persuasive Essay. I noticed
that every paragraph should support theme to make an essay stronger. Also, after Ms. Weller marked this assignment, I learned that using transition
words can create a powerful link between my ideas. For example, using the word, "in addition" , can make two paragraphs connect to each other. It
also can make readers understand the logic of an essay. Therefore, I' ve learned the writing skill which can make each paragraph be connected from this
assignment....show more content...
I really enjoyed it. As I was researching, I also could read other writer's literature. I notice that using the quote or data can make the theme of an
essay be stronger and more persuasive. For example, I use the quote from Steven Crowder, the author of "TheTop 5 Reasons College May Be Waste
Of Time In 2015", to support my idea, going to college is unnecessary. The quote not only can make an essay more cogent but also can make readers
agree with writer's thinking. Thus, I've learned to use the quote to make my essay to more

Persuasive Essay On Early Childhood Education
Beggining ones education young, prepares one for the future. Early education has been proven to be beneficial in many aspects throughout life.
Children may dread the idea of starting early but in the long run starting early can make a significant difference. Also some may even be ahead of his
/her peers in the following years. Early childhood education should be a requirement due to the ability it has to help gain early skills, necessary
positive behaviors, and increased brain development. Children dont have to go to a legit child care facility to get an early education. Early childhood
education comes in many forms most of the learning starts at home. "Playing with your child helps keep your child engaged in the kind of play
where learning occurs. Your interest, questions, and comments as you play alongside will help your child use toys productively,"(How to Support
Children's Approaches to Learning?). In saying that children learn best through play based experiences they learn from things they experience or
items they can touch and hold. Children learn from the comments thier parents give, they pick up on the little things. Children who don't participate
in some type of quality education programs are 50 percent more likely to be placed in special education. Children are also 25 percent more like to
dropout of school and are 60 percent more likely to never attend college. 40 percent are more likely to become teen parents ,and finally 70 percent
more likely to become a teen parent.
Not all children comprehend things at the same level, that's why it is so important to teach them basic skills young so later on throughout life
certain tasks will not be so hard for them. Children can also gain life skills just by doing simple things such as working puzzles. While working the
puzzles children gain problem solving skills as they try and fit the pieces together and figure out what goes where, it also develops a sense of
persistance.(How to Support Children's approach to learning?). Children need to learn the basic skill of problem solving because it is needed for tasks
throughout life whether it is a math problem or real life problems. Persistence is needed in many situations where the child may want to

Persuasive Speech On Being Transgender
Have you ever gone somewhere and felt completely out of place, like you didn't belong there? Maybe you have felt that way at a party, at the beach,
at school, or maybe even just being on your own sports team? Transgenders have that feeling everyday, they often feel completely out of place in
everything they do. They feel as if they're in the wrong body, and that they are not who they are supposed to be. Being transgender is about the gender
someone identifies with, such as being born a boy but feeling like they should be a girl and actually identifying themselves as a girl or vise versa.
Identity and expression are two of the most important factors in the way people see themselves and take part in their surroundings. When
someone feels they are in the wrong body or not the person they feel they should be, their entire world feels upside down. When someone When
someone decides to identify as a different gender than they were born with, a transgender, every aspect of their entire life can and does change.
After changing genders their sports team can change, they have to deal with constantly being judged by their peers, switching their name, and even
thinking about which bathroom they should use at school or in a public place. For example, last track season at Bay High, we were at a track meet
against Niceville and the 4x400 relay was about to start, and a transgender boy, he was born as a girl but now identifies as a boy, had to run in the girls
relay, the officials and

College Transition
Drop. Drop. Drop. That's the rate of college students dropping out of college, or not attending in the first place. We get told from the start to attend
college, but who can afford such an education without some type of loan and with the prices dramatically increasing each year? We get asked from
when we're little to now, what we'd like to be when we're older. Lots of jobs require or encouragecollege backgrounds. With college tuition and prices
increasing it makes the opportunity for low income students to go to college drop drastically without aid to help them but likewise, if tuition and
prices were decreased and made more affordable, the number of students being able to attend college would drastically increase.
Transitions. The world we live in has many of them. Each of these transitions surround each our lives in different ways. A transition is a

Persuasive Essay On Success
Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but
to do that, you must be successful in meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that highlights the
requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it
changes the world. No matter your race, religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for everyone, because
only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It" encourages itsaudience to think differently about wanting to be successful
and how to make it happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which include, persuasive, decorative,
and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun (Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise
repeatedly, I witnessed the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am also an athlete who is
expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and
are willing to work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive.

Persuasive Essay On Change In Life
Life is a whirlwind of events, situations, and lessons all wrapped into one. There is no one way to live life correctly or to the greatest ability because
each individual has a different perception of it. Throughout the whirlwind, some of the lessons learned may benefit or harm us but at the end of the
day, life waits for none. Deciding to make a change in life can be one of the hardest yet most fulfilling things a person can do. Whether a life change
is occurring because one wants to be healthier, or one wants to be more positive, the act can be intimidating at first. Although there are different ways
to go about it, there are at least four key steps to achieving and making a successful lifestyle change and shift. The steps include acknowledging the
problem and deciding on a new lifestyle or what change to make, thoroughly researching the lifestyle and what it takes to attain it, giving a layout or
making a plan of the new lifestyle, and lastly having a self–reward system for the successful transition. As a person it can be hard to admit when
there is a problem or to even acknowledge when there is a flaw within. Pride can be a preventative factor in making a lifestyle change but can be
rewarding when overcame. The first step towards change is accepting one needs to be made. The solution lies within and finding it is as simple as
self–realization of an issue. Being aware of the obstacles that hinder growth into a new lifestyle allows the opportunity to make the necessary changes,
ultimately actuating the entire life changing process. Following the admission of a problem, one must decide what to do about it and what type of life
to transition to. Whether the goal is to become more positive, lose weight, get better grades, or even have a better sleep schedule, the first step to
achieving it is deciding to make the change. After finally making the decision to make a change within life, the journey continues on. When learning
something new in class time is spent studying and researching the topic in order to further understand and comprehend it; the same logic is applied to a
lifestyle change in the sense that the research done has to be even more thorough. Some situations may require tiny changes over time

Why Respect Should Be Given to All

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Time Management Have you ever had an essay due in three weeks and thought to yourself, "I've got time. I'll just do it later"? Does staying up studying for an exam until 3 am in the morning sound familiar? How about running to class because you were working on a project until the very last second? If any of these unfortunate situations sound relatively familiar, you have endured the horrendous event of procrastination at some point of your jam–packed life. The one secret that nobody is enforcing on your young life is the extreme power of time management. In Chapter 5, the topics we address are as follows: The truth behind time management and procrastination. How to avoid procrastination. Understanding that making time for one is not only useful for academic purposes, but for entertainment purposes as well. The correlation between time management and a productive/healthy student. There are a vast majority of problems that students may encounter when transitioning from high school to college. For starters, college is extremely fast paced. Because students do not attend the same class every day, professors will expect you to be able to work at a much faster pace in order learn all the topics that need to be taught for the class. In order to get all the key points across, there are many weekly readings that professors assign to their students. While many students coming in to college may already be used to reading outside of the classroom, the amount of reading and the difficulty of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay : The Way To Change The World Changing the world is a heavy topic. From a young age, people are told that they can change the world, all they have to do is put their minds to it. What they weren't told was changing the world isn't very easy. As someone once said, "If you do what you always did, you will get what you always got" (Brainy Quotes). This unnamed person is correct in their thinking, now the problem is how do I change what I am doing to get different results. Well if a person really wants to change the world they will have to change the way they think and act. Even though it's difficult to change oneself that is the only way to change the world. Why change the way I think, I mean I don't think anything really bad? Maybe the things people think about aren't bad, but even Jimi Hendrix said: "In order to change the world, you have to get your head together first." (Brainy Quotes) Even if someone thinks they are pretty okay inside their mind changes are that they actually aren't okay. In Dead Poets Society Mr. Keating said " I stand upon my desk to remind myself that we must constantly look at things in a different way.... Just when you think you know something you have to look at it from another way" (Weir). Even though he might have thought he had good thinking he would change his perspective to see something from a new way which ultimately changes his thinking. But not only do you have to change how you think, but you have to be doing it for the right reasons while doing the things you're Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Essay On Sexual Orientation Love is a tricky topic. Many have been persecuted because of who they have loved. A common debate in society is that sexual orientation is a choice. Nurture will say that the environment around a person plays a role, and nature will say that sexual orientation has to do with science. The nurture argument is a common viewpoint because many can never imagine liking the same–sex, but then why is the nature viewpoint scientifically backed up? Before jumping into each argument, sexual orientation needs to be defined. "Sexual orientation is about who you're attracted to and want to have relationships with," according to Planned Parenthood (Parenthood). Sexual orientation is not the same as gender identity. Sexual orientation has to do with who a person is attracted to, and gender identity is about what gender a person identifies with. There are many different labels that people put on people who have a different sexual orientation than what is considered the common, which is a heterosexual relationship. The most common two are gays for men who like men, and lesbians who are women that like women. There are also people who identify as bisexual meaning they like both male and female. Another group that has a different sexual orientation is people who are attracted to more than just the average male and female, they can be attracted to basically anyone, which includes people who are transgender, genderqueer, or intersex. They are named pansexual or queer. Lastly, there are people Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay About The Future What are you going to be when you grow up? The go–to inquiry of almost every adult in a child's life. It is asked almost in a whimsical way in the first few years; often met with innocently ambitious responses such as an astronaut or a deep sea diver. With most kids, myself included, the answer changed several times throughout grade school. My starry eyed dreams of becoming an archeologist soon shifted to architect, and then to wilderness firefighter, then soldier, policeman, engineer, and so on. I could be anything i could dream up in this world and i had forever to decide. However, there comes a point in every teenager's life where the question of the future starts to scare you. This distant future is now becoming a very real thing that needs to be figured out and planned, because it's almost time to make that next step. I've always heard it said that high school will be the quickest four years of your life. I had no idea just how fast until it was time for me to start preparing for the real world. Over the past two years, i've really done some "soul searching" so to speak, and I believe that i've found out what i'm going to do for the rest of my life. Now i know that whatever teacher got selected to read through the stacks of senior essays that contained my piece is probably laughing at that last bit. If only i knew right? But just hear me out. My goal is to become a pilot for the United States Marine Corps. From a very young age, the idea of flight has fascinated me. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Outline Of Persuasive Speech On Procrastination Scott Alex Suddoth COMM 2381 Outline for Persuasive speech 11/18/2015 Procrastination I.Attention Getter: A famous author by the name of Wayne Dyer once said, "Procrastination is one of the most common and deadliest of diseases and its toll on success and happiness is incredibly heavy."(1) In todays society it seems as if procrastination has become a normal and acceptable thing to do. It is often joked about amongst schoolmates and co–workers around the world. Nothing seems to get done until it absolutely needs to get done, then everyone runs around getting things done quickly and often times inaccurately. The trouble with this mentality however is that some things will never get done because something will come up tomorrow or the next day and what you are putting off now gets pushed even further back. Today I will persuade you to stop this habit from continuing. I will be explaining the problems we face when dealing with procrastination as well as how to deal with it and actions you can take to prevent it in the future. Transition: It is in our human nature to procrastinate, some of us do it more than others but learning about this problem and understanding how it can effect you can be beneficial to everyone II.Need(the Problem): According to an article from Psychology Today, "20 percent of people chronically avoid difficult tasks and deliberately look for distractions" (2) and According to recent research "Procrastination has more than quadrupled in the last 30 Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay On Respect As children we are taught to always show respect to those around us. We are taught to never say no to an adult, to listen and to use manners to everyone around us. But as we grow older we develop a sense of rebelliousness, and an urge to question every single moral and value we have learned. So the burning question arises: Should respect be given to everyone no matter what, or is it something that needs to be earned? I believe that respect is a given. Like a natural right, it is born with it, and it is your choice whether you can gain more or lose it. People around the world have been fighting all around the world for equality. Isn't that the same as respect? We have been fighting for respect this whole time, so why should we suddenly discriminate every organism on this planet. Everyone has a side of insecurity and if we keep making people feel ashamed of that, there would be no respect. Respect is what separates me from you, him from her. But shouldn't everyone get respect no matter the case? From CEOs to retail workers? According to The Positivity Solution, an organization dedicated to spread positivity, dignity, and kindness, "Rudeness is often a by–product of a lack of respect. Not to sound like Captain Obvious here, but most people don't choose to be rude and disrespectful to people who they respect, do they?". What they are trying to convey is that people often don't give everyone the respect they deserve. When we do not give people respect, we lose respect for ourselves and become rude in other people's eyes. As we learn to realize that everyone deserves respect, we can see that even the most small things can earn our attention. If you are consciously deciding to give people respect or not, that is a mistake. Why do people need your acceptance to be treated equally? They do not. And if you are making a choice based on shallow judgment, you are destroying the love and kindness that others have shown to you. To be critical like that is unacceptable and wrong universally. "A person's a person, no matter how small" said Dr. Suess, an award winning children's books writer. Everyone wants to be accepted, some people at all costs. But would we like to see these people struggle to work there way up and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Transition Procedures Procedures for Transition Transition is a period of changing from one state or condition to another. To elaborate more, transition occurs when the students leave their classroom for lunch or to use the restrooms. To move from one class to another or from one learning center to another are all considers as transitions. However, with all this moving requires procedures. According to Marzano (2005), regardless of the grade level, every teacher needs to deal with certain interruptions and transitions both within the classroom and from the classroom to other areas of the school or school grounds. This is because moving around could cause a lot of distractions within class. For students who have difficulty in learning, they could easily distract Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Appropriate Usage Of Transition Words Lastly, the use of incorrect transition words was annotated in Essay 1: Facing Uncertainty with Curiosity. The improper use of a transitional word may make the meaning or direction of your paper differ from what is intended. Properly used transitional words or phrases are designed to transition between sequence of evens or places. Additionally, transitional words or phrases can effectively relate to a reader how one thing can lead to another, to emphasis contrast between two ideas and add purpose to the writers intended point of view. Appropriate usage of transition words is essential in relaying progression within writing. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Transition To College Essay A fork in the road only appears as such when both paths are seen as viable options; yet, once one path becomes seen as the only one, the other devolves into a deviation. Where the aberration would require justification to travel down, the perceived correct course would require justification to not travel down. This is precisely how the false question of attending college was presented to me: it was a matter of when not if. Upon inheriting white looking skin, a middle class family, and a pat on the back for bringing home white sheets of papers with little red "A"s written in the top right corner, it was ascertained that I was to be a productive and successful engineer after paying for college with hard–won scholarship money. In short, there were several socio–economic factors that contributed to my eventual position in college. Beginning with the fatalistic discourse utilized by my family, peers, and educators, I internalized such thoughts, and implicitly understood that, quite naturally, I would make the predestined transition to college from high school. Finding...show more content... Even though before 2008 I was still inundated with symbolic reasons as to why not attending college wasn't an option, the actualizing of major financial insecurity and job insecurity backed up a fate with a fear of concrete precariousness. It was akin to sex–education by traumatizing worst–case scenario pictures: teaching through fear. Headlines of crashing stock prices, foreclosed homes, and titles reading "The Bachelor's Degree is the new High School diploma" filled the news channels my mother had playing constantly, and I subconsciously became afraid of not attending college. As with all fallacious fear–mongering, I implicitly assumed that the other path, was one riddled with danger and certain Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. How To Write A Persuasive Essay Writing essay is one of the things that I used to dislike before. For me, writing an essay was a difficult and boring thing. However, I change my mind when I was doing the assignment, "Persuasive Essay". This essay is my first English essay, and it was a quite challenging task for me. In this assignment , I learned a lot. For example, to use the transition words to connect each paragraph. Also, to use other writer's words to make my idea be more powerful. Thus, this assignment improves my writing skills a lot. Before, I didn't know that I have to use the transition words in an essay. For me, an essay is constituted by many single paragraphs. However, everything is different when I was doing this assignment, Persuasive Essay. I noticed that every paragraph should support theme to make an essay stronger. Also, after Ms. Weller marked this assignment, I learned that using transition words can create a powerful link between my ideas. For example, using the word, "in addition" , can make two paragraphs connect to each other. It also can make readers understand the logic of an essay. Therefore, I' ve learned the writing skill which can make each paragraph be connected from this assignment....show more content... I really enjoyed it. As I was researching, I also could read other writer's literature. I notice that using the quote or data can make the theme of an essay be stronger and more persuasive. For example, I use the quote from Steven Crowder, the author of "TheTop 5 Reasons College May Be Waste Of Time In 2015", to support my idea, going to college is unnecessary. The quote not only can make an essay more cogent but also can make readers agree with writer's thinking. • 12. Persuasive Speech On Being Transgender Have you ever gone somewhere and felt completely out of place, like you didn't belong there? Maybe you have felt that way at a party, at the beach, at school, or maybe even just being on your own sports team? Transgenders have that feeling everyday, they often feel completely out of place in everything they do. They feel as if they're in the wrong body, and that they are not who they are supposed to be. Being transgender is about the gender someone identifies with, such as being born a boy but feeling like they should be a girl and actually identifying themselves as a girl or vise versa. Identity and expression are two of the most important factors in the way people see themselves and take part in their surroundings. When someone feels they are in the wrong body or not the person they feel they should be, their entire world feels upside down. When someone When someone decides to identify as a different gender than they were born with, a transgender, every aspect of their entire life can and does change. After changing genders their sports team can change, they have to deal with constantly being judged by their peers, switching their name, and even thinking about which bathroom they should use at school or in a public place. We get told from the start to attend college, but who can afford such an education without some type of loan and with the prices dramatically increasing each year? • 22. Persuasive Essay On Change In Life Life is a whirlwind of events, situations, and lessons all wrapped into one. There is no one way to live life correctly or to the greatest ability because each individual has a different perception of it. Throughout the whirlwind, some of the lessons learned may benefit or harm us but at the end of the day, life waits for none. Deciding to make a change in life can be one of the hardest yet most fulfilling things a person can do. Whether a life change is occurring because one wants to be healthier, or one wants to be more positive, the act can be intimidating at first. Although there are different ways to go about it, there are at least four key steps to achieving and making a successful lifestyle change and shift. The steps include acknowledging the problem and deciding on a new lifestyle or what change to make, thoroughly researching the lifestyle and what it takes to attain it, giving a layout or making a plan of the new lifestyle, and lastly having a self–reward system for the successful transition. As a person it can be hard to admit when there is a problem or to even acknowledge when there is a flaw within. Pride can be a preventative factor in making a lifestyle change but can be rewarding when overcame. The first step towards change is accepting one needs to be made. The solution lies within and finding it is as simple as self–realization of an issue. Being aware of the obstacles that hinder growth into a new lifestyle allows the opportunity to make the necessary changes, ultimately actuating the entire life changing process. Following the admission of a problem, one must decide what to do about it and what type of life to transition to. Whether the goal is to become more positive, lose weight, get better grades, or even have a better sleep schedule, the first step to achieving it is deciding to make the change. After finally making the decision to make a change within life, the journey continues on. When learning something new in class time is spent studying and researching the topic in order to further understand and comprehend it; the same logic is applied to a lifestyle change in the sense that the research done has to be even more thorough. Some situations may require tiny changes over time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
