The Importance Of Physical Activities
Research has shown that healthy habits established early in life, such as a balanced diet and participating in regular physical activity, may continue into
adolescence and adulthood, thereby reducing a person's risk of developing conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. This report investigates the
students at Ferny Grove State High School meet the guidelines recommended by the Australian Government. I achieved this by conducting a survey of
ten people in my class, and the data suggests that the majority of the people who participated in the survey didn't meet the guidelines. After evaluating
the data, I recommended that the students should less time doing sedentary activities, and more time doing physical activities.
This report will investigate whether the students at Ferny Grove State High School are meeting the guidelines recommended by the Australia's physical
activity and sedentary behaviour guidelines for young people aged 13–17 years. A survey will be conducted, then the data will be evaluated and
compared to guidelines to see if the students are getting enough physical exercise. Recommendations will then be made on how the students can stay fit
and healthy. This report will also cover the importance of physical activity for adolescences, the need for intervention to increase physical activities
levels in Australia and national health strategies that aim to improve physical activity in Australia.

The Importance of Physical Exercise
What is exercise? The actual definition of exercise is; to use repeatedly in order to strengthen or develop, but to make it simpler, exercise is doing
programs and workouts to keep fit, for example, running, hiking, bicycling, and any active sport.
Most Americans do little or no exercise during work or rest hours. Today there aren't many jobs requiring intensephysical activity. Instead of walking,
people use automobiles or public transportation. Instead of being physically active, people usually watch TV in their free time. Some sports such as
bowling, golf, and tennis (doubles) provide some exercise, but do not provide as much exercise as other more vigorous sports.
Exercise is very important...show more content...
This happens when a person exercises too hard for too long, this mostly happens to people that have been inactive for a while.
In some situations, people have died while exercising. In these situations, most of the deaths have been by overexertion in people who have had heart
problems. For people who are under the age of thirty, these heart conditions are usually from heart defect present at birth. For the people that are over
the age of 40, the heart condition is usually coronary artery, which is the buildup of deposits of fats in the heart's blood vessels. A lot of these deaths
have followed by warning signs such as chest pain, lightheartedness, fainting, and extreme breathlessness. These are symptoms that should not be
ignored and medical attention should be advised immediately.
Exercising too hard is not good for anyone, however, and is especially dangerous for out–of–shape, middle–aged and older people. It is very important
for all people to follow a gradual and sound exercise program.
If you are wondering how long it would take to be in shape, think about this; look at how long you have been out of shape and it will take about that
much time to get back in shape if you exercise properly.
With some of this information earlier stated, exercise seems pretty dangerous, but it's not very dangerous at all, you just need to be careful. No
research studies have shown that physically active people are more likely to have sudden, fatal heart

The Health Benefits of Exercise Essay
Exercise is one of the most important factors in a persons' life. Physical activity, or the lack of it, can result in a person having a healthy life or cause
them to have diabetes. The benefits of exercise are countless. The positive health results, the improvement in attitude, even better academic
performance are all factors which make not exercising inexcusable.
Merely not using a person's body is harmful. Not being active results in a person's muscles becoming weak and out of condition. The effectiveness of
a person's heart and lungs will decrease. A person's joints will become stiff and can be injured easily. Inactivity can be as much of a health risk as
smoking. In addition children have become extremely lazy with all the...show more content...
Adults should have around thirty to sixty minutes of physical activity four to six times a week. Two hours and thirty minutes is the minimum a fully
developed person needs to lessen the risk of having some type of chronic disease later in life ("Information").
Physical fitness has two main classifications–performance related and health related. People have different performance related requirements in
accordance with their occupation but all people have the same health related requirements (The World). Then there are two types of exercise that helps
tone a person's body while increasing its endurance. These are aerobic and anaerobic. Aerobic exercise is exercise that uses the muscles and
bones. Cardio activities are a good example of this, such as running or biking. This type of exercise increases the strength of a person's heart and
boosts their lung capacity. Anaerobic exercise is an intense but short amount of exercise (Payment). Since it is only for a brief amount of time, it
does not require the amount of oxygen aerobic exercise does. Instead it uses glycogen which comes from the sugar in a person's blood. An example
of this exercise is weight lifting or sprinting. A person's requires both anaerobic and aerobic exercise for good health. Simply doing a cardio work out
is not healthy, and for a person to see real results there must be some activity like weight lifting ("Anaerobic").
By performing some type of physical activity each

The Importance Of Physical And Physical Exercise
Many people often disregard and underestimate the importance of being physically active. While exercise can certainly improve weight and overall
physique, hitting the gym isn't exclusively done so in order to get the envied summer body. When one talks about exercise, one nearly always refer to
physical exercise. While the term of "exercise" is the physical exertion of the body – making the body do a physical activity which results in a healthy
or healthier level of physical fitness – exercise doesn't always come with the purpose of losing pounds. One's physical, psychological, and social health

The most common mental benefit of exercising is stress relief, which can be achieved by taking a short walk. However, if one suffers from clinical
depression or anxiety, doctors might recommend exercises as a way to battle these psychological illnesses. Working up a sweat can prove to be quite
successful in terms of contesting with depression and/or anxiety, as exercise releases endorphins, creating feelings of happiness and euphoria. By just
working out for just half an hour a few times a week, it can instantly improve one's overall mood. Besides creating happy chemicals, physical fitness
can boost self–esteem and improve positive self–image. Regardless of weight, gender or age, exercise can naturally elevate a person's perception of his
or her own self–worth. This is most likely due to the fact that after accomplishing a workout, one feels as if they are making strides in their own lives,
creating a cordial, central appreciation zone in their minds. Working out, especially during one's adulthood, boost chemicals in the brain that support
and prevent degeneration of the hippocampus, which is a crucial part of the brain for memory and learning. Sharpening your memory isn't the only
thing that exercise helps with. For some, a moderate workout before sleep can increase relaxation chemicals, which causes their body to send signals
that it's time to sleep.
While some people hope to find a mental outlet in exercise, other find physical fitness activities as a way

# Gain More Energy. As you exercise regularly, your entire body becomes more efficient. Your heart begins to pump more blood with each beat and to
beat fewer times each minute. Your body develops the ability to make more oxygen available to your cells. That means more energy– greater
productivity, more stamina, and less fatigue.
# Feel Good. Exercise makes you feel good, both physically and mentally. It gives you a psychological lift and strengthens your sense of
accomplishment. The discipline associated with exercise also makes you feel good about yourself: "I feel good that I walked today," or "When I run, I
feel I have control over one area of my life."
# Look Good. Regular exercise plays an important role in helping to reduce body fat and weight and to develop muscle. Fitness can give you a
better–looking, better–proportioned body: a flatter abdomen, firmer thighs, and slimmer hips.
# Feel Younger. Increasing your activity level can reverse or slow the changes that many people think are simply the unavoidable results of aging. In
reality, lack of exercise usually reduces flexibility, strength, blood vessel elasticity, and lung functions; slows reaction time and metabolism; and
increases body fat between ages 30 and 60.

The Benefits of Physical Activity Essay
Studies have shown that one who is physically active has higher chances of living longer. Del Sanden writes in his article on Exercise Statistics,
"People who engage in physical for 7 hours per week have a 40 percent lower chance of dying early than people who are active for less than 30
minutes a week." This statement is one of the many statements in his article proving the importance of fitness; it has the ability to enhance quality of
life. Regular exercise can lower the risk of many diseases, improve the function of the physical body, as well as psychological health.
Fitness by definition is the condition of being physically fit and healthy. It does not necessarily mean gym workouts, it means being active. When one

Another disease that is commonly found in the US, but can be prevented by physical activity is Diabetes. Diabetes is a disease when the body does
not produce enough insulin making sugar levels very high. However, when muscles are in action they can take the sugar/glucose from the blood
without the help of insulin. The amount of physical activity necessary for prevention is minimum and does not take up much time. "Research suggests
that 2 1/2 hours per week of even leisurely physical activity–like brisk walking–is enough to significantly improve glucose tolerance." By going
walking instead of sitting by a television screen, one can prevent a disease like diabetes which requires constant medication. Decisions like taking steps
instead of elevator can make a huge difference to one's health.
Besides for the aforementioned, being active strengthens the body, making it more reliable. Activity works the bones and muscles, making them able to
handle more. Bones are living tissue. "Weight–bearing physical activity causes new bone tissue to form, and this makes bones stronger. This kind of
physical activity also makes muscles stronger. Bones and muscles both become stronger when muscles push and tug against bones during physical
activity." This build up enables the body to carry it's own weight, making standing on the feet an effortless activity. Stronger bones helps for better

Exercise and eating healthy are two of the most important things you need to do to take care of your body properly. Both exercise, and eating healthy,

This is what causes us to be sore. The muscles then build back up, becoming stronger than before. (lifehacker.com) People still need to be careful
when they exercise because they can hurt themselves or overexert themselves while doing it. Being a little sore for a 24–48 hour period is normal but
when being sore is a severe pain, it was probably caused by overexertion. (lifehacker.com)
For people who want to lose weight when they exercise they need to take a completely different approach. Instead of doing high–intensity workout for
short periods of time, they need to do the exact opposite. Brian Parr from the Department of Exercise and Sports Science at the University of South
Carolina says: "When you exercise for a longer duration, you're going to use the slow twitch fibers that are really good at burning fat. If you went and
did a couple hundred meter sprints for your workout, it only works the fast muscle fibers, and they use primarily carbohydrates and don't burn that much
fat at all.
For example, when you get on an elliptical or treadmill you can push the "fat burning" button, it will be longer and lower intensity because that favors
the muscles that are going to burn more fat. So if you do a jog instead of a sprint, you're burning more fat." (lifehacker.com)
Even through all of this you need to have some variety because some exercises just burn the fat in

I do not agree with what Jamie and Paul have planned for their baby, however, it is important for a child's physical growth development to be
acknowledged, acted upon, and approached in a safe manner. There are many ways that healthy physical and motor growth, and athletic skill can be
promoted for a child throughout development, from birth and on to adolescence, and during late childhood, children's physical skills become more
coordinated every day. According to childtime.com, most of them need parental involvement. Children need a specific place within or outside of the
home where they have plenty of space to play physical games or do activities, that require the child to exercise their balance and reaction sills, and
use plenty of mental energy, such as basketball or baseball. Parents should find ways to challenge the child, such as using elbows or other body parts
to play the sport/activity they are playing, and making sure that they stretch properly before hand. Doing so can improve the child's ability to perform
alternatives through out the game, and their resilience to bounce back afterwards. According to Life–Span Development, increased myelination of the
central nervous system improves children's fine motor skills, and it has also been proven that a higher level of physical activity is linked to a lower
level of metabolic disease, which is why it is so important for families to go on activities that require physical movement, such as going to the pool and

Cardiorespiratory Endurance is usually considered, by most fitness specialists, to be the most important component of physical fitness. It involves the
cardiovascular and respiratory systems and their ability to adapt to and recover from stress and physical activity. ("Cardiorespiratory Endurance")
For beginners, the best way to maintain or increase your cardiovascular fitness is to find a form of aerobic exercise that you enjoy. This can be
swimming, running, walking, biking, or any other activities that will raise your heart rate to sufficient levels. ("Cardiorespiratory Endurance")
Every person has their own level of exercising needed to achieve their highest level of Cardiorespiratory Endurance. Well the easiest way to do this is
to figure out your maximum heart rate and work out at a percentage of that rate. To find your maximum heart rate, just take your age and subtract it
from 220. ("Cardiorespiratory Endurance")
Now that you know your maximum heart rate you can determine your intensity, duration, and frequency levels. It is recommended to workout at 55% –

Argumentative Essay On Physical Exercise
Engaging in physical exercise has many advantages and it benefits, not only to the physical health but as well as the mental health. Exercising
regularly helps to maintain a good health balance in the body, reducing stress and overcoming anxiety and depression in a person. It also activate the
chemicals in a person's brain to develop a better mood. This argumentative essay will demonstrate about how exercising helps and improve not only a
person's physical health but also mental health such as depression, anxiety and stress.
"Exercise" is a well known word among people all over the world. In fact it is popular among teenagers and adults that are trying to stay fit and
healthy. The use of the word "Exercise" is highly overrated because people tend to think that exercising keep them in shape and to lose weights.
However, what they do not realised is that exercising also improve one's mental health including depression, anxiety and stress that most people are
facing these days. Exercising promote better mood control. Research shows that exercise put long–term depression at ease (Weir, 2011). Based on the
evidences of an experiment, studies shows that James Blumenthal, PhD, a clinical psychologist has investigated, together with his colleagues upon
some adults with major depressive disorders (Weir, 2011). According to Weir (2011) Blumenthal conducted a mood
–exercise connection experiments
and found out that "Exercise seems not only important for treating depression, but also in preventing relapse". The release of chemicals such as
endorphins and serotonin from exercising increases the mood (Health Direct Australia, 2016). In the year 2006, Otto and his colleagues analysed 11
studies examining the effects of exercise on mental health. It was determined that exercising could be a strong influence for clinical depression (Clinical
Psychology: Science and Practice, 2006, as cited in Weir, 2011). From this, it is concluded that clinicians should think carefully about adding exercise
to the treatment plans for their depressed patients (Weir, 2011).
Smits (Co–director) and Otto (Co–writer) of Anxiety and Research and Treatment Program have reasoned that regular exercise help people who are

Understanding the level of fitness a person initially exhibits prior to beginning a fitness regimen is extremely important in helping them improve their
well being. Hoeger and Hoeger (2015) include the current methods for testing an individual's baseline of physical fitness include body composition,
cardiovascular, flexibility, muscular strength along with endurance benchmarks. Additional important benchmarks such as mentalhealth will be

Importance Of Physical Exercise
Everyone needs physical exercise and should be allowed to participate in the activities they want to. Despite physical limitations, age, skill, gender,
etc., everyone should have the chance to be included in their pick of physical activities. Just because people may be different in these things doesn't
mean they should be left out. Sometimes people with disabilities are left out of some sport and other physical activities because of their limitations.
This is wrong because everyone needs exercise, wants to have fun, and it can unite people. These people need physical exercise just like everyone else
and sometimes even more so their muscles don't atrophy. These activities can are also fun and everyone wants to be a part of that fun and have a

wheelchair basketball was made for people in wheelchairs to enjoy basketball also. This sport is cool because even people who are not usually in
wheelchairs can still be in one just for the game and play the game with people who really need a wheelchair. In fact, sometimes people who don't
need a wheelchair will join teams in wheelchair basketball and it unites the players even though they have differences in physical abilities.

The Importance of Physical Activity Essay
Physical Activity is undeniably good for everyone, not only does it keep you fit and healthy but when started at a young age, it can set up good habits
for life. Sometimes however, people do not take care of their physical wellbeing, resulting in obesity and other eating disorders which can be
detrimental to their health.
Obesity is the condition of being seriously overweight. It is now considered a global health epidemic by the World Health Organization (2000)
(McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010). Physical activity is important to children in the middle childhood age group because a staggering amount of children

It is because of this high level of cognitive function that physical activity and nutrition are extremely important (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010). They
affect the child's physical wellbeing in terms of energy levels, growth and the ability to concentrate (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010).
As children grow they continue to need physical activity. One of the methods of exercise that is popular with children in the middle childhood age is
rough and tumble play or 'play fighting' (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010). Unfortunately, this sort of play is often discouraged by schools because of the
possibility that someone may become injured. (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010). Teachers must find the balance between protecting children from getting
hurt and allowing them to run and jump to release the copious amounts of energy that they have to burn (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010).
Another unfortunate hindrance to physical activity in schools is the notion that physical activity takes away from time that could be used for academic
studies. This is unjustified however, because children of this age group are unable to sit and concentrate for long periods of time without being able to
get up and move (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010).
Teachers can play a large role when it comes to addressing and preventing obesity. Because children spend such a large portion of their time with the
teacher, it is the teacher

The Importance Of Physical Activities

  • 1. The Importance Of Physical Activities Research has shown that healthy habits established early in life, such as a balanced diet and participating in regular physical activity, may continue into adolescence and adulthood, thereby reducing a person's risk of developing conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. This report investigates the students at Ferny Grove State High School meet the guidelines recommended by the Australian Government. I achieved this by conducting a survey of ten people in my class, and the data suggests that the majority of the people who participated in the survey didn't meet the guidelines. After evaluating the data, I recommended that the students should less time doing sedentary activities, and more time doing physical activities. This report will investigate whether the students at Ferny Grove State High School are meeting the guidelines recommended by the Australia's physical activity and sedentary behaviour guidelines for young people aged 13–17 years. A survey will be conducted, then the data will be evaluated and compared to guidelines to see if the students are getting enough physical exercise. Recommendations will then be made on how the students can stay fit and healthy. This report will also cover the importance of physical activity for adolescences, the need for intervention to increase physical activities levels in Australia and national health strategies that aim to improve physical activity in Australia. • 2. The Importance of Physical Exercise Essay The Importance of Physical Exercise What is exercise? The actual definition of exercise is; to use repeatedly in order to strengthen or develop, but to make it simpler, exercise is doing programs and workouts to keep fit, for example, running, hiking, bicycling, and any active sport. Most Americans do little or no exercise during work or rest hours. Today there aren't many jobs requiring intensephysical activity. Instead of walking, people use automobiles or public transportation. Instead of being physically active, people usually watch TV in their free time. Some sports such as bowling, golf, and tennis (doubles) provide some exercise, but do not provide as much exercise as other more vigorous sports. Exercise is very important...show more content... This happens when a person exercises too hard for too long, this mostly happens to people that have been inactive for a while. In some situations, people have died while exercising. In these situations, most of the deaths have been by overexertion in people who have had heart problems. For people who are under the age of thirty, these heart conditions are usually from heart defect present at birth. For the people that are over the age of 40, the heart condition is usually coronary artery, which is the buildup of deposits of fats in the heart's blood vessels. A lot of these deaths have followed by warning signs such as chest pain, lightheartedness, fainting, and extreme breathlessness. These are symptoms that should not be ignored and medical attention should be advised immediately. Exercising too hard is not good for anyone, however, and is especially dangerous for out–of–shape, middle–aged and older people. It is very important for all people to follow a gradual and sound exercise program. If you are wondering how long it would take to be in shape, think about this; look at how long you have been out of shape and it will take about that much time to get back in shape if you exercise properly. With some of this information earlier stated, exercise seems pretty dangerous, but it's not very dangerous at all, you just need to be careful. No research studies have shown that physically active people are more likely to have sudden, fatal heart

  • 4. The Health Benefits of Exercise Essay Exercise is one of the most important factors in a persons' life. Physical activity, or the lack of it, can result in a person having a healthy life or cause them to have diabetes. The benefits of exercise are countless. The positive health results, the improvement in attitude, even better academic performance are all factors which make not exercising inexcusable. Merely not using a person's body is harmful. Not being active results in a person's muscles becoming weak and out of condition. The effectiveness of a person's heart and lungs will decrease. A person's joints will become stiff and can be injured easily. Inactivity can be as much of a health risk as smoking. In addition children have become extremely lazy with all the...show more content... Adults should have around thirty to sixty minutes of physical activity four to six times a week. Two hours and thirty minutes is the minimum a fully developed person needs to lessen the risk of having some type of chronic disease later in life ("Information"). Physical fitness has two main classifications–performance related and health related. People have different performance related requirements in accordance with their occupation but all people have the same health related requirements (The World). Then there are two types of exercise that helps tone a person's body while increasing its endurance. These are aerobic and anaerobic. Aerobic exercise is exercise that uses the muscles and bones. Cardio activities are a good example of this, such as running or biking. This type of exercise increases the strength of a person's heart and boosts their lung capacity. Anaerobic exercise is an intense but short amount of exercise (Payment). Since it is only for a brief amount of time, it does not require the amount of oxygen aerobic exercise does. Instead it uses glycogen which comes from the sugar in a person's blood. An example of this exercise is weight lifting or sprinting. A person's requires both anaerobic and aerobic exercise for good health. Simply doing a cardio work out is not healthy, and for a person to see real results there must be some activity like weight lifting ("Anaerobic"). By performing some type of physical activity each Get more content on HelpWriting.net

While exercise can certainly improve weight and overall physique, hitting the gym isn't exclusively done so in order to get the envied summer body. When one talks about exercise, one nearly always refer to physical exercise. While the term of "exercise" is the physical exertion of the body – making the body do a physical activity which results in a healthy or healthier level of physical fitness – exercise doesn't always come with the purpose of losing pounds. This can be accomplished in...show more content... The most common mental benefit of exercising is stress relief, which can be achieved by taking a short walk. However, if one suffers from clinical depression or anxiety, doctors might recommend exercises as a way to battle these psychological illnesses. Working up a sweat can prove to be quite successful in terms of contesting with depression and/or anxiety, as exercise releases endorphins, creating feelings of happiness and euphoria. By just working out for just half an hour a few times a week, it can instantly improve one's overall mood. Besides creating happy chemicals, physical fitness can boost self–esteem and improve positive self–image. Regardless of weight, gender or age, exercise can naturally elevate a person's perception of his or her own self–worth. This is most likely due to the fact that after accomplishing a workout, one feels as if they are making strides in their own lives, creating a cordial, central appreciation zone in their minds. Working out, especially during one's adulthood, boost chemicals in the brain that support and prevent degeneration of the hippocampus, which is a crucial part of the brain for memory and learning. Sharpening your memory isn't the only thing that exercise helps with. For some, a moderate workout before sleep can increase relaxation chemicals, which causes their body to send signals that it's time to sleep. As you exercise regularly, your entire body becomes more efficient. Your heart begins to pump more blood with each beat and to beat fewer times each minute. Your body develops the ability to make more oxygen available to your cells. That means more energy– greater productivity, more stamina, and less fatigue. # Feel Good. Exercise makes you feel good, both physically and mentally. It gives you a psychological lift and strengthens your sense of accomplishment. The discipline associated with exercise also makes you feel good about yourself: "I feel good that I walked today," or "When I run, I feel I have control over one area of my life." # Look Good. Regular exercise plays an important role in helping to reduce body fat and weight and to develop muscle. Fitness can give you a better–looking, better–proportioned body: a flatter abdomen, firmer thighs, and slimmer hips. # Feel Younger. Another disease that is commonly found in the US, but can be prevented by physical activity is Diabetes. Diabetes is a disease when the body does not produce enough insulin making sugar levels very high. However, when muscles are in action they can take the sugar/glucose from the blood without the help of insulin. The amount of physical activity necessary for prevention is minimum and does not take up much time. "Research suggests that 2 1/2 hours per week of even leisurely physical activity–like brisk walking–is enough to significantly improve glucose tolerance." By going walking instead of sitting by a television screen, one can prevent a disease like diabetes which requires constant medication. Decisions like taking steps instead of elevator can make a huge difference to one's health. Besides for the aforementioned, being active strengthens the body, making it more reliable. Activity works the bones and muscles, making them able to handle more. Bones are living tissue. "Weight–bearing physical activity causes new bone tissue to form, and this makes bones stronger. This kind of physical activity also makes muscles stronger. Bones and muscles both become stronger when muscles push and tug against bones during physical activity." They help with multiple things needed throughout your life. These things include growing physically, mentally, and if you are religious, spiritually as well. All of this adds up to your body functioning in the highest and best way possible. Exercise, or physical activity helps your body in many ways. The muscles then build back up, becoming stronger than before. (lifehacker.com) People still need to be careful when they exercise because they can hurt themselves or overexert themselves while doing it. Being a little sore for a 24–48 hour period is normal but when being sore is a severe pain, it was probably caused by overexertion. (lifehacker.com) For people who want to lose weight when they exercise they need to take a completely different approach. Instead of doing high–intensity workout for short periods of time, they need to do the exact opposite. Brian Parr from the Department of Exercise and Sports Science at the University of South Carolina says: "When you exercise for a longer duration, you're going to use the slow twitch fibers that are really good at burning fat. If you went and did a couple hundred meter sprints for your workout, it only works the fast muscle fibers, and they use primarily carbohydrates and don't burn that much fat at all. For example, when you get on an elliptical or treadmill you can push the "fat burning" button, it will be longer and lower intensity because that favors the muscles that are going to burn more fat. So if you do a jog instead of a sprint, you're burning more fat." I do not agree with what Jamie and Paul have planned for their baby, however, it is important for a child's physical growth development to be acknowledged, acted upon, and approached in a safe manner. There are many ways that healthy physical and motor growth, and athletic skill can be promoted for a child throughout development, from birth and on to adolescence, and during late childhood, children's physical skills become more coordinated every day. According to childtime.com, most of them need parental involvement. Children need a specific place within or outside of the home where they have plenty of space to play physical games or do activities, that require the child to exercise their balance and reaction sills, and use plenty of mental energy, such as basketball or baseball. Parents should find ways to challenge the child, such as using elbows or other body parts to play the sport/activity they are playing, and making sure that they stretch properly before hand. Doing so can improve the child's ability to perform alternatives through out the game, and their resilience to bounce back afterwards. According to Life–Span Development, increased myelination of the central nervous system improves children's fine motor skills, and it has also been proven that a higher level of physical activity is linked to a lower level of metabolic disease, which is why it is so important for families to go on activities that require physical movement, such as going to the pool and swimming, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In a peer reviewed article Sanna Stroth and others discussed the research project where they preformed extensive research on ways that exercise effects the brain. Their research showed that regular physical exercise has been shown to stimulate brain vascularization, increase levels of brain neurotransmitters, particularly dopamine and noradrenalin and brain–derived neurotrophic factor, which in turn increase the survival ability of neurons and neurogenesis. These changes create a basis for better learning, retention and performance, leading to a more efficient, plastic and adaptive brain. With increased physical fitness, they found improved cognitive flexibility and cognitive control. Also their participants working memory was partly influenced by increased physical fitness (Stroth, el al). In children the process becomes even more beneficial. This argumentative essay will demonstrate about how exercising helps and improve not only a person's physical health but also mental health such as depression, anxiety and stress. "Exercise" is a well known word among people all over the world. In fact it is popular among teenagers and adults that are trying to stay fit and healthy. The use of the word "Exercise" is highly overrated because people tend to think that exercising keep them in shape and to lose weights. However, what they do not realised is that exercising also improve one's mental health including depression, anxiety and stress that most people are facing these days. Based on the evidences of an experiment, studies shows that James Blumenthal, PhD, a clinical psychologist has investigated, together with his colleagues upon some adults with major depressive disorders (Weir, 2011). According to Weir (2011) Blumenthal conducted a mood –exercise connection experiments and found out that "Exercise seems not only important for treating depression, but also in preventing relapse". The release of chemicals such as endorphins and serotonin from exercising increases the mood (Health Direct Australia, 2016). In the year 2006, Otto and his colleagues analysed 11 studies examining the effects of exercise on mental health. It was determined that exercising could be a strong influence for clinical depression (Clinical Psychology: Science and Practice, 2006, as cited in Weir, 2011). From this, it is concluded that clinicians should think carefully about adding exercise to the treatment plans for their depressed patients (Weir, 2011). Despite physical limitations, age, skill, gender, etc., everyone should have the chance to be included in their pick of physical activities. Just because people may be different in these things doesn't mean they should be left out. Sometimes people with disabilities are left out of some sport and other physical activities because of their limitations. This is wrong because everyone needs exercise, wants to have fun, and it can unite people. These people need physical exercise just like everyone else and sometimes even more so their muscles don't atrophy. The Importance of Physical Activity Essay Physical Activity is undeniably good for everyone, not only does it keep you fit and healthy but when started at a young age, it can set up good habits for life. Sometimes however, people do not take care of their physical wellbeing, resulting in obesity and other eating disorders which can be detrimental to their health. Obesity is the condition of being seriously overweight. It is now considered a global health epidemic by the World Health Organization (2000) (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010). It is because of this high level of cognitive function that physical activity and nutrition are extremely important (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010). They affect the child's physical wellbeing in terms of energy levels, growth and the ability to concentrate (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010). As children grow they continue to need physical activity. One of the methods of exercise that is popular with children in the middle childhood age is rough and tumble play or 'play fighting' (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010). Unfortunately, this sort of play is often discouraged by schools because of the possibility that someone may become injured. (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010). Teachers must find the balance between protecting children from getting hurt and allowing them to run and jump to release the copious amounts of energy that they have to burn (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010). Another unfortunate hindrance to physical activity in schools is the notion that physical activity takes away from time that could be used for academic studies. This is unjustified however, because children of this age group are unable to sit and concentrate for long periods of time without being able to get up and move (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010). Teachers can play a large role when it comes to addressing and preventing obesity. Because children spend such a large portion of their time with the teacher, it is the teacher Get more content on HelpWriting.net
