Scariest Moment In My Life
I was supposed to go camping that evening, but little did I know that I was going to be spending the next three days in a hospital fearing for my
brother's life. This is my story about the scariest moment in my life, when my brother was on the edge of dying. I got out of school full of joy
because it was Friday and we were going camping that evening. My sister picked me up, which was a little weird, but she is 34 and has picked me
up from school before. On the way to my house, where my sister would drop me off, I was talking to my niece about her ballet recital that was
happening in a couple of days. When we got home, my mom's car wasn't in the driveway, which is really strange since we get out of school at
2:30, and my mom gets off work at 2:00. I walked inside, set all my stuff down, and went to the basement to play with my nephew and niece. A few
moments later my sister called us all upstairs, and said "We have to go, Josh is hurt." We all got into the car and immediately my sister was
bombarded with questions. "Is he ok?", "What happened?", "Who is with him?" She answered each one to the best of her knowledge. She told us
that his heart had stopped and started back up again, and that Mama (my Mom) and Papa (my Dad) were at the hospital with him. The car ride there
was a very scary ride, because we were all so frightened by what had happened. When we arrived there it took us about 20 minutes to find the room
because my sister isn't the smartest person, and it was in a

I was driving for about three hours when I realised I had taken the wrong turning and was hopelessly lost. I pulled over to the side and found my
mobile phone in order to phone for help. Surprisingly, the battery had run completely low and I began to feel a sense of panic as it was rapidly
becoming darker. In the distance, I saw the outline of a house and I thought that I could detect smoke coming out of the chimney. I decided that I had
no option but to make my way to the house and ask for directions and for the use of the telephone as my family would be getting worried about me.
I drove to the house which was completely isolated and as I pulled up...show more content...
But nevertheless, I moved closer and I realised that it was only the door knocker. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. I could hear the
scuffling of shoes as if a person was rushing about inside, making me wonder whether these people were trying to hide something.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the door opened, and on the other side stood an old tiredman in what seemed to be a butler's uniform.
However, the old man did not look like a regular butler as he was quite plump and seemed to waddle instead of walk. He gestured for me to come in
and to follow him. He waddled into the living room where a younger man sat, smoking a pipe. The younger man looked up at me, and startled me by
his left glass eye, which seemed to be constantly staring at me.
"Ah, hello my friend. What brings you here on this night of the full moon?" The young man asked with the glass eye still staring intently. "Oh, and
please do keep your voice down. My son is already asleep upstairs."
"I'm sorry to disturb you at this time of night, but I am lost and my car has broken down. I was wondering if it would be possible to use your
telephone; that is if it's not too much trouble."
"I'm afraid to say that the storm earlier on has cut all the telephone lines in the area. However, if you wish, I have a spare bedroom

I climbed into the sweaty bus, little did I know I was about to have the scariest moment of my life. Every year for a music class we took a field trip
to two chosen destinations. This year the lucky destination was a ski lodge up in the mountains. This ski lodge was surrounded by a lake and a
bunch of houses, it was the perfect destination for a couple friends going to have fun. When we arrived at the lodge my friend, Jeff, and I sprinted
to our room. Opening the blinds to look out the window, we discovered that we were on the bottom floor with a view of the lake. The lake was
very blue with a scent of wildlife. Suddenly, I heard knocking on the door and that brought me back to reality. I rushed to the creaky wooden door to
open it to find that it was my other friends, Brennan and Caleb, they wanted to go to the grocery store across the street with Jeff and me. So we went
across the street, leaving the room with the door closed and the blinds wide open. We spent a couple hours messing around in the store and then
decided that we should probably be getting to bed, so we headed back across the street and back into our impassive room. "This place doesn't feel right"
said Jeff.
He was obviously feeling the same forgotten feeling I was. It was a feeling of being alone, forgotten about.
"Yeah I feel the same" I said. "I just feel alone, like we are the only ones in this lodge."
We both decided to ignore the feeling and to just try to get some sleep. We both scrambled

One day my mom said that she was going to drop me off at the Cassity's because she was going out of town. That afternoon she picked me up from
school. We drove to Lathrop and she dropped me off. My mom told me I was spending the week there so I needed to find something to do and then
left. When I got there everyone was watching TV, I joined them. That first night we watched a movie and ate pizza. A couple of days had passed
doing nothing, when I saw something in the local newspaper about a contest. It said that a monster had been spotted and whoever could find the
monster and take a good picture could win three thousand dollars! I ran to show Callie, Sam, and Titus. They weren't as happy as I was, they told me
the monster didn't exist. After an hour of trying to convince them, they finally gave in because it would give us something to do....show more content...

rocks and some old tin cans. We began our search again the next day. We were scavenging the woods with our cameras and bug spray when we came
upon a small cave in the side of the creek wall. We were just about to enter when we heard a growl,we all jolted

"Uncle Chuzube, uncle Chuzube can you tell us a scary story," the five children in the room said in unision. "Alright, alright kids I'll tell you one
scary story then bedtime, okay?" Uncle Chuzube said. "Hooray," the children cried. "Before we start this is may or may not be a true story so don't

dice to move forward and search for the key to get out. "Hmm thats seems simple enough we just have to search for the key," Sarah says. George
then takes the dice and puts it in his pocket, but once he put the dice in his pocket they fell through the floor "AAAHH," the teenagers cry in unison.
Once we landed we landed on a soft cushion. "Where is Sarah, not again," Britney cries.
"We just gotta keep moving we most likely find her eventually," George says. They started walking in the hallway. Once they made it to the end
they pondered on how to keep going. "Wait aren't we supposed to use the dice to keep moving," Zack said. "Yeah let's use the dice," Jack says.
George took the dice out his pocket and put it against the wall. The wall then started opening but once they walked in the saw something they wished

On a cold fall evening in the town of Dankfurt, Alaska with a small population of 73. There was a boy named Derek. Derek was just an ordinary
boy who attended the school of Winterfield which was 10 miles away. He did this because his town had no school along with two other friends. Every
morning he and his friends would wake up at five–thirty to walk to school. Because of the Alaskan time zones it was dark during the day and light at
night. On their walk they would pass one house and one house only which was in the heart of the woods. It was a dark brown house with white
curtains. The house was very old and looked to be falling apart. They assumed it was abandoned and thought nothing of it. But every time Derek
walked passed he would get a minor headache not even recognizing...show more content...

football team sucks!" "screw you man" said the bully and walked away. After their hellish days at school the boys would head to the drama club. This
is where they all fit in and thoroughly enjoyed attending the meetings. They were at these meetings until six–thirty or sunrise in Alaska at the time.
The boys would stroll home and get back at about ten o'clock. They would do the same thing every day.
Early one morning Derek's power went out and his alarm clock did not go off. The other boys waited for him but he did not show up so they
assumed he was sick and left without him. A few hours later he woke up and realized he was late. He threw on his clothes and bolted out the door.
Because of Alaska's time zone it was pitch dark when he started his journey. But he carried on his journey just like any

Scary Night – Original Writing
I was now ready to depart after the party, exiting my Cousin's house. It was a Halloween party. It was a lot of fun; to be honest the party seemed to
be quite good. It was suppose to be scary, but now that I come to see it does not compare to how I felt later on during the night. You see the
difference is looking at all the story I have heard about Halloween, this one that I have experienced seems a lot more realistic and frightening. I had
no choice but to walk home by myself, because of the complicated story my mom told me (which of course I was not listening to).
The night was dark, gloomy, dusky, and silent. So basically these were not the conditions that I...show more content...

else around. Again I heard another sound of footsteps. They became louder and louder which gave me the idea of someone coming closer. I
stopped. I looked back. I saw no one. I heard nothing. there. There was a shadow lurking behind a car. At first glance I thought it was a cat then I
looked again and I thought it was far too big to be a cat. A shiver of fear ran up my spine. I thought that it could be a mugger, or even a murderer!
Where ever I went I could still hear the footsteps. I began to walk faster to get away from the noise of the footsteps.
All the street lamps were broken with the exception of one, a few seconds later even that street lamp went off. The only thing that could be seen was
the moon, it was shinning brightly. I was taking a lot of different routes just to get away "from the thing", but where ever I went I couldn't escape it. I
heard a car alarm and looked around in horror. I started to run. The footsteps had stopped. I slowed down again thinking what it could be. I couldn't
stop thinking about it. I kept looking around making sure nothing was there. Every time I heard something my heart beat increased.
I had reached the cemetery. I could hear dogs barking. I looked

Descriptive Essay On A Horror Movie
It's Friday night and the theater is packed. Looking around, my brother and I only see single seats left. Luckily a young girl sitting next to a single
seat decided to leave. We take our seats located in the middle of the first row, right in front of the enormous screen. Eating our butter popcorn and
rainbow colored gummy worms, the lights dim and the previews begin. After seeing the first preview which ended in a paralyzing scream, I start to
question why I decided to watch a horror movie. I knew my fear was irrational and I should just push through and watch. Why am I so determined
to stay when I'm scared? The movie begins, the sight of a dark house in the night, no moon, no civilization set in the middle of the woods made me
cringe in my seat. The quiet, yet slowly intensifying rustling of leaves and slow rise of suspenseful music, had me shivering yet I kept my eyes
wide open, zoned on screen as I was lost in the scene. The girl taps on the door, it creaks open and suddenly she's pulled off her feet. I felt the
theater behind me jump up, putting me further on edge. The scene ends and the music suddenly stops, the blackened screen sinks me into a
relaxing stage and suddenly numbs me by casting on the horrifying face of the clown. His curly red hair and pale sickening skin was so bright it
reflected of my body. His sharp teeth with his sinister grin made me recoil back on my front row seat and fling the popcorn box at him in defense. I
was scared out of wits. Why do we

The Scariest Moment Of My Life
The scariest moment of my life! Imagine a time, your heart beating out of your chest, your brain going a million miles an hour, and your stomach
sunk down as far as it can go. Now, multiply those feelings by ten and you will know how scared I felt during the scariest moment of my life. The end
of January. My brother finally arrives home from his two–year mission in Mexico. Not particularly happy of the fact of giving up my room I
droopingly moved my belongings into my old room just up the stairs. Although I missed my brother dearly, I never could imagine what it would
be like for him to move out again after an encounter we had a few weeks after he returned home. Like any other normal school night, I completed
my homework and prepared myself for a good night's sleep. As I finished the long process of washing my face and brushing my teeth, I said goodnight
to by brother and slothfully wondered up the stairs into my new/old bedroom. I kneeled down beside my bed and said my prayers. After I was finished,
I carefully moved my prayer rock (a rock that reminds me to say my prayers) in front of my door, so I would not forget to say my prayers the following
morning. I slowly crawled into my cloud–like bed, and began to attempt to fall asleep. Everyone dead asleep except me. Trying to fight away the
horrifying thoughts of the movie Insidious I watched a few days prior, I laid there restless into the early hours of the morning. I tiredly rolled to the
left side of my body. I saw

Scary Story I looked up at the black sky. I hadn't intended to be out this late. The sun had set, and the empty road ahead had no streetlights. I knew
I was in for a dark journey home. I had decided that by traveling through the forest would be the quickest way home. Minutes passed, yet it seemed
like hours and days. The farther I traveled into the forest, the darker it seemed to get. I was very had to even take a breath due to the stifling air.
The only sound familiar to me was the quickening beat of my own heart, which felt as though it was about to come through my chest. I began to

I took a glance around and found myself looking right into a pair of dark, glassy eyes peering at me through the bushes. I knew I was not seeing

whistle. I took a big gulp and decided to step on it and quicken my pace. I would never get home at this rate. The same moment I decided to quicken
my speed, a deer burst through the night. I screamed, stumbled and hit the ground with a loud thump. I sat on the moist ground for a moment to
try to recover but my heart began to throb as if it was beating within my throat. It was just a deer I told myself, I had to be brave. Trying to get myself
together I began to feel this hot puffs of air on the back of my neck. "It's the goblin!" I screamed as I rapidly rose to my feet. My head spun like an owl
as I went to look for what was behind me. I looked to the ground and discovered a little white dog. "You scared me to death little guy. What is a cute
little puppy like you doing in a dense forest like this?" I said to him. I was relieved it was only a dog instead of the ghastly goblin, but I only made it
half–way home by then. As I proceeded on the white little dog followed me. I felt more at ease now that I had him following me but he would not be

Personal Narrative : A Haunted House
For my final project, I visited to a haunted house to experience how American people are spending the most famous holiday Halloween night with my
friends. My methodology is ethnographic observation which to visit a haunted house and experience one of many "American ritual" during Halloween
season. As I am going to break ethnocentrism, practice viewing and adventuring American culture. Ethnocentrism is getting out of my comfort zone,
experiencing other culture. I am going to a haunted house to see why the American people are enjoying getting scared also why people are coming
back for it. Nightmare on 9 is one of the scariest haunted house in Washington state; people are rating this haunted house ten skulls out of nine. I am
exceedingly excited and ready to spend a night at Nightmare on 9 with my friends on October 29th.
When I first came to America, with my host family I went to trick–or–treating with friends and host family's daughter. I still remember that I dressed up
and had full make–up as Dracula, and my friends dressed up as ghosts. I could not imagine that people can receive a year's candy in one day. Also, I
have picked up a pumpkin in a pumpkin farm and brought home carving many jack–o'–lanterns decorating at the front door with a candle inside of the
pumpkin Therefore, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, but I could not go trick–or–treating anymore because I am an adult now. Therefore, I
was terribly disappointed about that I could not celebrate Halloween

Personal Narrative: A Horror/Suspense Story
Here I am, fingers poised above my keyboard, a soft melody in the back ground plays through some old speakers, and a blank document is pulled
up in front of me. For my English class, I was asked to write a horror/suspense story. But, in all honesty, I can't focus or come up with anything good
enough. I haven't had a very scary life to base my essay off of, and I doubt a short story about the time I failed a paper would count. Outside, the bright
moon light trickles into my room, and a soft breeze flows in through the partially open window. Sighing, I concentrate on the screen, thinking about a
somewhat horrifying story that won't lull my readers to sleep.
"Emma honey, can you come here for a second?" My mothers soft voice calls from the downstairs kitchen. I grudgingly pull myself from the plush
office chair, and stroll out into the light less hallway. Out of nowhere a forceful grip strikes out, engulfing my upper arm. My eyes widen with fear,
but before I can chirp out in surprise, a soft hand is placed across my month, promptly silencing my shrike. In a fit of desperation I spin around to
lock eyes with my mom, her expression spikes my heart beat once again, the obvious fear radiates off of her.
Before I get the chance to speak, she blurts out in a hurry "I heard that too."
"But that's impossible, it was your voice."...show more content...

Personal Horror Narrative Essay I have not been as affected by horror movies as much as those around me. That being said, I am easily frightened
by events that happen in real life. I believe my numbness towards scary movies is due to being subjected to horror films at an early age as well as
my own rational outlook. I have continuously been a bit of a skeptic when it comes to horror in movies. The first involvement I can recall with a
horror movie would have to be Scream, approximately around the time it made it to DVD. While watching the film I can remember thinking to myself,

My family and I were looking after a house for a friend of my father's. Whilst there, we watched the 1999 version of the film The Haunting. The
Haunting was set in a large, unfamiliar, and unsettling mansion at night. There I was, sitting in front of stranger's television, in a stranger's house,
watching a scary movie well into the late night. I had the perfect setup for a good fright, and what a good fright it was. What stuck with me the most
was the idea of objects having an intrinsic ability to be manipulated by an ethereal body or entity. Thus I started wondering just how much there is in
this world that could not be explained. Furthermore, this led to my discomfort with the unknown, which is where my true fear resides. Looking back at
it now does not have quite the same effect as it once had. With that in mind, I have yet to get over the ghosts of children and objects used as the
extension of a spirit's will because of movies such as The

They came to a stop in front of a tall gate. Vernon stopped to admire the beautiful gate, but Jimin urged him to walk forward since they still had a

Halfway through the second movie Henry took a mattress out for the floor sitters, and since Jimin had already seen the movie he unintentionally
napped throughout it. The chatter, the yelps and surprised squeaks at every jumpscare, made it easier for him to be lulled into sleep.
When their third movie ended, they all got up to stretch, and move around a little bit. Meanwhile Henry loaded the fourth movie on his computer.
Three of them went off to the kitchen to get more snacks, and drinks. The younger one, Gus began whining about his back so Jimin helped him stretch.
Charles tried to move the chair he was sitting on, when he saw some movement out of the windows, he stopped and stared off into the darkness. He

Motivation Of The Haunted House
On October 28th I ignored my nerves and saw the haunted house put on by my fellow Waldorf students. I brought my boyfriend with me because I am
too much of a scaredy–cat to go on my own. I truly am a baby when it comes to "scary" things; I hate watching scary movies or going to haunted
houses. I have anxiety, and these types of things cause my anxiety to be extremely high. If I am being completely honest, my only motivation for
going was to get the event for this class, since I have to miss other events because I will be out of state at bowling tournaments. It was not the fact that
I did not like the haunted house that I did not want to go, it was only because of the fact I was too scared to go, but I am happy that I went. I realized that

with concrete walls and duct work, I hesitated. I also hate basements, but kept going anyway. When we got lead into a little room, and a man came
running towards us, I kept pushing and rushing my boyfriend, because he was not moving as fast as I was. I am not really sure why I was trying
to get out so fast though, I knew he was not going to hurt us and I actually was not as scared of him as I thought I would be. I think it was more
instinct and reaction because that's what you see them do in the movies. Hearing the chainsaw behind also did not worry me as much as I thought
it would, but I was still on edge expecting more. When we walked into a room, there was a person standing right next to door way, and when I saw
them I let out the loudest scream out of the few I did that night. Right after it happened I laughed at myself, at the fact that out of all the other things
I had seen, this was the one that made me scream the most. When we finally got to the end, I expected a last jump scare that did not happen. Well,
for us it did right as we were walking out of the doors, the other woman in our group (the one I knew) had grabbed my boyfriend

Scariest Moment Of My Life Short Story
The scariest moment of my life was when I got pulled over. I was terrified and I knew that I was going to be in a lot of trouble. I was on my way to
Lake of the Ozarks with my best friends. We were having the best time in my dad's convertible, maybe a little too much fun. I got lost in the
moment and didn't really realize how fast I was going. As I was the only person on the highway, I took advantage of that and ended up going 98 mph
in a 70 mph speed limit. As I was enjoying the wind through my hair, the scenery of the beautiful Jefferson City, and the loud music out the speakers,
I could hear a siren trying to overcome the sound of the loud music and when I looked in my rear–view mirror it was a cop. Of course it was any
normal cop, it had to be a state–trooper, the scariest and most authoritarian one of them all. My heart stopped and I was flooded with tears and I knew, at
that moment,I was screwed. I didn't know what do and the closer the officer got to my window, the more my heart was about to burst out my chest. I
could tell by the way the officer was approaching my car that he was very angry and as soon as a stood in front of my window he was screaming at me
because of my "inability to be a safe and responsible driver". I already knew what I was doing was wrong and he made it much worse. As the officer
shouted with a nefarious look on his face, he asked for my licence and registration, I was crying and shaking continuously. He went back to his car, for
what it felt like 10 years, and then came back and wrote me a ticket. Now, I thought my day couldn't get worse, but it definitely did. As I drove
away from the first officer, I was going significantly slower than what I had been, I was going 65 mph in a 70 mph speed limit. As I continued
driving, with tears still down my face, there happened to be another cop parked on the side of the highway. As I drove passed him, I was in the
right–hand lane, on a two–lane highway, and I know I am supposed to get over for common courtesy, but I didn't have the opportunity to because of a
car to the left to me. . Still going 65 mph in a 70 mph speed limit, he pulled me over. At this point of the day, I completely lost all sanity I had, and
pulled over and cried. I

Looking back at it now doesn't have quite the same effect as it had. With that in mind, I have yet to get over the ghosts of children and objects used
as the extension of an apparition's will because of movies such as The Haunting. The next movie in line to have me consider not finishing the film
would be Ghost Ship. I recall watching this film after renting it from the local library when I was fifteen. This film had gripped me due to the idea of
extreme isolation and the mystery behind what the ghosts wanted. Again a new area of apprehension had just come to me in the form of the unknown
of what apparitions could want or value from the

Narrative Essay
Have you ever been scared? So scared that you felt that your heart might stop any moment. A feeling so intense that you wished that you never
have to experience it again. I am not someone who possesses a weak heart. I have always considered myself a brave and calm individual. But I
guess there is a point in life when even the bravest of hearts are tested to their limits. This is no different. It was May 3rd, 2007 just another day. I
had classes in the morning. As it was a Thursday, I stayed back and spent some time with my friends after school. We had chicken broast for lunch at
Helvatia and then we left to our respective homes. It was early summer. So I went to sleep after a shower and didn't wake up till 9 p.m. My Parents

Scariest Moment In My Life

  • 1. Scariest Moment In My Life I was supposed to go camping that evening, but little did I know that I was going to be spending the next three days in a hospital fearing for my brother's life. This is my story about the scariest moment in my life, when my brother was on the edge of dying. I got out of school full of joy because it was Friday and we were going camping that evening. My sister picked me up, which was a little weird, but she is 34 and has picked me up from school before. On the way to my house, where my sister would drop me off, I was talking to my niece about her ballet recital that was happening in a couple of days. When we got home, my mom's car wasn't in the driveway, which is really strange since we get out of school at 2:30, and my mom gets off work at 2:00. I walked inside, set all my stuff down, and went to the basement to play with my nephew and niece. A few moments later my sister called us all upstairs, and said "We have to go, Josh is hurt." We all got into the car and immediately my sister was bombarded with questions. "Is he ok?", "What happened?", "Who is with him?" She answered each one to the best of her knowledge. She told us that his heart had stopped and started back up again, and that Mama (my Mom) and Papa (my Dad) were at the hospital with him. The car ride there was a very scary ride, because we were all so frightened by what had happened. When we arrived there it took us about 20 minutes to find the room because my sister isn't the smartest person, and it was in a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. English Horror Story English Horror Story – Original Writing I was driving for about three hours when I realised I had taken the wrong turning and was hopelessly lost. I pulled over to the side and found my mobile phone in order to phone for help. Surprisingly, the battery had run completely low and I began to feel a sense of panic as it was rapidly becoming darker. In the distance, I saw the outline of a house and I thought that I could detect smoke coming out of the chimney. I decided that I had no option but to make my way to the house and ask for directions and for the use of the telephone as my family would be getting worried about me. I drove to the house which was completely isolated and as I pulled up...show more content... But nevertheless, I moved closer and I realised that it was only the door knocker. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. I could hear the scuffling of shoes as if a person was rushing about inside, making me wonder whether these people were trying to hide something. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the door opened, and on the other side stood an old tiredman in what seemed to be a butler's uniform. However, the old man did not look like a regular butler as he was quite plump and seemed to waddle instead of walk. He gestured for me to come in and to follow him. He waddled into the living room where a younger man sat, smoking a pipe. The younger man looked up at me, and startled me by his left glass eye, which seemed to be constantly staring at me. "Ah, hello my friend. What brings you here on this night of the full moon?" The young man asked with the glass eye still staring intently. "Oh, and please do keep your voice down. My son is already asleep upstairs." "I'm sorry to disturb you at this time of night, but I am lost and my car has broken down. I was wondering if it would be possible to use your telephone; that is if it's not too much trouble." "I'm afraid to say that the storm earlier on has cut all the telephone lines in the area. However, if you wish, I have a spare bedroom

  • 4. I climbed into the sweaty bus, little did I know I was about to have the scariest moment of my life. Every year for a music class we took a field trip to two chosen destinations. This year the lucky destination was a ski lodge up in the mountains. This ski lodge was surrounded by a lake and a bunch of houses, it was the perfect destination for a couple friends going to have fun. When we arrived at the lodge my friend, Jeff, and I sprinted to our room. Opening the blinds to look out the window, we discovered that we were on the bottom floor with a view of the lake. The lake was very blue with a scent of wildlife. Suddenly, I heard knocking on the door and that brought me back to reality. I rushed to the creaky wooden door to open it to find that it was my other friends, Brennan and Caleb, they wanted to go to the grocery store across the street with Jeff and me. So we went across the street, leaving the room with the door closed and the blinds wide open. We spent a couple hours messing around in the store and then decided that we should probably be getting to bed, so we headed back across the street and back into our impassive room. "This place doesn't feel right" said Jeff. He was obviously feeling the same forgotten feeling I was. It was a feeling of being alone, forgotten about. "Yeah I feel the same" I said. "I just feel alone, like we are the only ones in this lodge." We both decided to ignore the feeling and to just try to get some sleep. We both scrambled Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Personal Narrative-Scary Narrative One day my mom said that she was going to drop me off at the Cassity's because she was going out of town. That afternoon she picked me up from school. We drove to Lathrop and she dropped me off. My mom told me I was spending the week there so I needed to find something to do and then left. When I got there everyone was watching TV, I joined them. That first night we watched a movie and ate pizza. A couple of days had passed doing nothing, when I saw something in the local newspaper about a contest. It said that a monster had been spotted and whoever could find the monster and take a good picture could win three thousand dollars! I ran to show Callie, Sam, and Titus. They weren't as happy as I was, they told me the monster didn't exist. After an hour of trying to convince them, they finally gave in because it would give us something to do....show more content... When we found everything we needed, we grabbed a computer and looked up the last place the monster was spotted and tried to plan out his next location. We put on mud boots and headed for the creek behind the house. We were gone all morning,we never found anything just a couple of cool rocks and some old tin cans. We began our search again the next day. We were scavenging the woods with our cameras and bug spray when we came upon a small cave in the side of the creek wall. We were just about to enter when we heard a growl,we all jolted Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. A Short Story : A Story Of A Scary Story "Uncle Chuzube, uncle Chuzube can you tell us a scary story," the five children in the room said in unision. "Alright, alright kids I'll tell you one scary story then bedtime, okay?" Uncle Chuzube said. "Hooray," the children cried. "Before we start this is may or may not be a true story so don't think this is fake let us start. One day on a snowy night when I used to work at KFC as a manager there were five kids in the establishment, one of the teenagers named was Zack he sat with his twin brother Jack at one of the tables. Britney is the first to speak and says, "What do you want with us, I'm pretty sure the cops will find us so you may as well release us now." "A hello would've been nice or good morning. Well anyways my name is Ruth Smith and we are going to play a game some may die and most likely one will live." Okay I'll be going now, in five minutes your ropes will dissolve and in ten minutes a table will come up with a dice and instructions, now have fun." Like Ruth said in the next fifteen minutes their ropes fell off and a table came up with instructions and a dice. The instructions said use the dice to move forward and search for the key to get out. "Hmm thats seems simple enough we just have to search for the key," Sarah says. George then takes the dice and puts it in his pocket, but once he put the dice in his pocket they fell through the floor "AAAHH," the teenagers cry in unison. Once we landed we landed on a soft cushion. "Where is Sarah, not again," Britney cries. "We just gotta keep moving we most likely find her eventually," George says. They started walking in the hallway. Once they made it to the end they pondered on how to keep going. "Wait aren't we supposed to use the dice to keep moving," Zack said. "Yeah let's use the dice," Jack says. George took the dice out his pocket and put it against the wall. The wall then started opening but once they walked in the saw something they wished they didn't see. Sarah was tied Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Example Of Narrative Essay Scary Story On a cold fall evening in the town of Dankfurt, Alaska with a small population of 73. There was a boy named Derek. Derek was just an ordinary boy who attended the school of Winterfield which was 10 miles away. He did this because his town had no school along with two other friends. Every morning he and his friends would wake up at five–thirty to walk to school. Because of the Alaskan time zones it was dark during the day and light at night. On their walk they would pass one house and one house only which was in the heart of the woods. It was a dark brown house with white curtains. The house was very old and looked to be falling apart. They assumed it was abandoned and thought nothing of it. But every time Derek walked passed he would get a minor headache not even recognizing...show more content... Joe stood up to the biggest kid this time saying "Buzz of man." They replied with "In your dreams twinkie." Joe attacked him with "well that is why the football team sucks!" "screw you man" said the bully and walked away. After their hellish days at school the boys would head to the drama club. This is where they all fit in and thoroughly enjoyed attending the meetings. They were at these meetings until six–thirty or sunrise in Alaska at the time. The boys would stroll home and get back at about ten o'clock. They would do the same thing every day. Early one morning Derek's power went out and his alarm clock did not go off. The other boys waited for him but he did not show up so they assumed he was sick and left without him. A few hours later he woke up and realized he was late. He threw on his clothes and bolted out the door. Because of Alaska's time zone it was pitch dark when he started his journey. • 8. Essay on Scary Night Scary Night – Original Writing I was now ready to depart after the party, exiting my Cousin's house. It was a Halloween party. It was a lot of fun; to be honest the party seemed to be quite good. It was suppose to be scary, but now that I come to see it does not compare to how I felt later on during the night. You see the difference is looking at all the story I have heard about Halloween, this one that I have experienced seems a lot more realistic and frightening. I had no choice but to walk home by myself, because of the complicated story my mom told me (which of course I was not listening to). The night was dark, gloomy, dusky, and silent. So basically these were not the conditions that I...show more content... Then he smiled and started walking in front of me really fast. Then he disappeared into the dusk. All the park lights were off and there was nobody else around. Again I heard another sound of footsteps. They became louder and louder which gave me the idea of someone coming closer. I stopped. I looked back. I saw no one. I heard nothing. there. There was a shadow lurking behind a car. At first glance I thought it was a cat then I looked again and I thought it was far too big to be a cat. The only thing that could be seen was the moon, it was shinning brightly. I was taking a lot of different routes just to get away "from the thing", but where ever I went I couldn't escape it. I heard a car alarm and looked around in horror. I started to run. The footsteps had stopped. I slowed down again thinking what it could be. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I kept looking around making sure nothing was there. Every time I heard something my heart beat increased. I had reached the cemetery. I could hear dogs barking. • 9. Descriptive Essay On A Horror Movie It's Friday night and the theater is packed. Looking around, my brother and I only see single seats left. Luckily a young girl sitting next to a single seat decided to leave. We take our seats located in the middle of the first row, right in front of the enormous screen. Eating our butter popcorn and rainbow colored gummy worms, the lights dim and the previews begin. After seeing the first preview which ended in a paralyzing scream, I start to question why I decided to watch a horror movie. I knew my fear was irrational and I should just push through and watch. Why am I so determined to stay when I'm scared? The movie begins, the sight of a dark house in the night, no moon, no civilization set in the middle of the woods made me cringe in my seat. The quiet, yet slowly intensifying rustling of leaves and slow rise of suspenseful music, had me shivering yet I kept my eyes wide open, zoned on screen as I was lost in the scene. The girl taps on the door, it creaks open and suddenly she's pulled off her feet. I felt the theater behind me jump up, putting me further on edge. The scene ends and the music suddenly stops, the blackened screen sinks me into a relaxing stage and suddenly numbs me by casting on the horrifying face of the clown. His curly red hair and pale sickening skin was so bright it reflected of my body. His sharp teeth with his sinister grin made me recoil back on my front row seat and fling the popcorn box at him in defense. I was scared out of wits. Why do we Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. The Scariest Moment Of My Life The scariest moment of my life! Imagine a time, your heart beating out of your chest, your brain going a million miles an hour, and your stomach sunk down as far as it can go. Now, multiply those feelings by ten and you will know how scared I felt during the scariest moment of my life. The end of January. My brother finally arrives home from his two–year mission in Mexico. Not particularly happy of the fact of giving up my room I droopingly moved my belongings into my old room just up the stairs. Although I missed my brother dearly, I never could imagine what it would be like for him to move out again after an encounter we had a few weeks after he returned home. Like any other normal school night, I completed my homework and prepared myself for a good night's sleep. As I finished the long process of washing my face and brushing my teeth, I said goodnight to by brother and slothfully wondered up the stairs into my new/old bedroom. I kneeled down beside my bed and said my prayers. After I was finished, I carefully moved my prayer rock (a rock that reminds me to say my prayers) in front of my door, so I would not forget to say my prayers the following morning. I slowly crawled into my cloud–like bed, and began to attempt to fall asleep. Everyone dead asleep except me. Trying to fight away the horrifying thoughts of the movie Insidious I watched a few days prior, I laid there restless into the early hours of the morning. I tiredly rolled to the left side of my body. I saw Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Scary Story Essay example Scary Story I looked up at the black sky. I hadn't intended to be out this late. The sun had set, and the empty road ahead had no streetlights. I knew I was in for a dark journey home. I had decided that by traveling through the forest would be the quickest way home. Minutes passed, yet it seemed like hours and days. The farther I traveled into the forest, the darker it seemed to get. I was very had to even take a breath due to the stifling air. The only sound familiar to me was the quickening beat of my own heart, which felt as though it was about to come through my chest. I began to whistled to take my mind off the eerie noises I was hearing. In this kind of darkness I was in, it was hard for me to believe that I could be...show more content... I took a glance around and found myself looking right into a pair of dark, glassy eyes peering at me through the bushes. I knew I was not seeing things at that moment. Were those the evil eyes of a goblin lurking waiting for it's next meal? My breath became too rapid for me to be able to whistle. I took a big gulp and decided to step on it and quicken my pace. I would never get home at this rate. The same moment I decided to quicken my speed, a deer burst through the night. I screamed, stumbled and hit the ground with a loud thump. I sat on the moist ground for a moment to try to recover but my heart began to throb as if it was beating within my throat. It was just a deer I told myself, I had to be brave. Trying to get myself together I began to feel this hot puffs of air on the back of my neck. "It's the goblin!" I screamed as I rapidly rose to my feet. My head spun like an owl as I went to look for what was behind me. I looked to the ground and discovered a little white dog. "You scared me to death little guy. What is a cute little puppy like you doing in a dense forest like this?" I said to him. I was relieved it was only a dog instead of the ghastly goblin, but I only made it half–way home by then. As I proceeded on the white little dog followed me. I felt more at ease now that I had him following me but he would not be considered much of a watch dog to most Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Personal Narrative : A Haunted House For my final project, I visited to a haunted house to experience how American people are spending the most famous holiday Halloween night with my friends. My methodology is ethnographic observation which to visit a haunted house and experience one of many "American ritual" during Halloween season. As I am going to break ethnocentrism, practice viewing and adventuring American culture. Ethnocentrism is getting out of my comfort zone, experiencing other culture. I am going to a haunted house to see why the American people are enjoying getting scared also why people are coming back for it. Nightmare on 9 is one of the scariest haunted house in Washington state; people are rating this haunted house ten skulls out of nine. I am exceedingly excited and ready to spend a night at Nightmare on 9 with my friends on October 29th. When I first came to America, with my host family I went to trick–or–treating with friends and host family's daughter. I still remember that I dressed up and had full make–up as Dracula, and my friends dressed up as ghosts. I could not imagine that people can receive a year's candy in one day. Also, I have picked up a pumpkin in a pumpkin farm and brought home carving many jack–o'–lanterns decorating at the front door with a candle inside of the pumpkin Therefore, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, but I could not go trick–or–treating anymore because I am an adult now. Therefore, I was terribly disappointed about that I could not celebrate Halloween Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The dark knight was one of my favorite because it was really dark and i don't know how to explain it but I thought I it was really cool because it was to dark to see where you were going so there were lots of twists and turn , raging bull was so high up and the drop was so scary I could see all the people walking around at the bottom. Then we went on the viper I really liked this one because I was so bumpy I would bounce up and down. And after that was The giant drop I was really scared of this ride because I was scared of heights so I didn't go on this one and then we went on the X flight it was really fast and went in loops a lot on that ride it was fun. and some others that I don't really remember but after that my cousins had to leave so we stayed just a little bit longer we had to stop going on the big roller coasters and we had to go on younger rides like the little dipper or the fiddler's fling, whizzer and stuff like that because my brother and sister were still Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Personal Narrative: A Horror/Suspense Story Here I am, fingers poised above my keyboard, a soft melody in the back ground plays through some old speakers, and a blank document is pulled up in front of me. For my English class, I was asked to write a horror/suspense story. But, in all honesty, I can't focus or come up with anything good enough. I haven't had a very scary life to base my essay off of, and I doubt a short story about the time I failed a paper would count. Outside, the bright moon light trickles into my room, and a soft breeze flows in through the partially open window. Sighing, I concentrate on the screen, thinking about a somewhat horrifying story that won't lull my readers to sleep. "Emma honey, can you come here for a second?" My mothers soft voice calls from the downstairs kitchen. I grudgingly pull myself from the plush office chair, and stroll out into the light less hallway. Out of nowhere a forceful grip strikes out, engulfing my upper arm. My eyes widen with fear, but before I can chirp out in surprise, a soft hand is placed across my month, promptly silencing my shrike. In a fit of desperation I spin around to lock eyes with my mom, her expression spikes my heart beat once again, the obvious fear radiates off of her. Before I get the chance to speak, she blurts out in a hurry "I heard that too." "But that's impossible, it was your voice."...show more content... My eyebrows draw in tight as I see the colorful feathers scattered around the ground, I look back towards my mother, but she looks as confused as I feel. We continue to push on, scanning every inch of the house for a threat. As if it wasn't scary enough the first time, another scream screeches throughout the house. I come to a sudden stop, my eyes frantically searching for answers. With no cure to my racing heart beat, I continue on, slightly dragging my hand on the wall for support. More feathers cover the wood floors, almost coming across as a colorful Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Personal Horror Narrative Essay I have not been as affected by horror movies as much as those around me. That being said, I am easily frightened by events that happen in real life. I believe my numbness towards scary movies is due to being subjected to horror films at an early age as well as my own rational outlook. I have continuously been a bit of a skeptic when it comes to horror in movies. The first involvement I can recall with a horror movie would have to be Scream, approximately around the time it made it to DVD. While watching the film I can remember thinking to myself, "what's so scary about somebody in a mask following people? Why don't the actors on screen defend themselves?" My family and I were looking after a house for a friend of my father's. Whilst there, we watched the 1999 version of the film The Haunting. The Haunting was set in a large, unfamiliar, and unsettling mansion at night. There I was, sitting in front of stranger's television, in a stranger's house, watching a scary movie well into the late night. I had the perfect setup for a good fright, and what a good fright it was. What stuck with me the most was the idea of objects having an intrinsic ability to be manipulated by an ethereal body or entity. Thus I started wondering just how much there is in this world that could not be explained. Furthermore, this led to my discomfort with the unknown, which is where my true fear resides. Looking back at it now does not have quite the same effect as it once had. With that in mind, I have yet to get over the ghosts of children and objects used as the extension of a spirit's will because of movies such as The Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. A Narrative Essay About A Scary Story "Let's go. Would you walk faster please, I'm really excited." "No Vernon. Could you calm down we go there every year." "I know Jimin, but I heard this year is going to be big, espectacular" "I know, Charles told me that Henry went all out this year." "Yes. Did you hear anything from Mark, Jackson, and Kris?" "They are still not going. Mark and Jackson have a competition somewhere and Kris is leaving the country for two weeks, also it is not like they are missing much." "You are such a killjoy." They came to a stop in front of a tall gate. Vernon stopped to admire the beautiful gate, but Jimin urged him to walk forward since they still had a long trail to Henry's house. "I do not really enjoy Halloween. It is fun and all, but I just don't get scared like everyone...show more content... Help me bring out the snacks." They headed to the kitchen. They made jokes, laughed, screamed, and groaned every time Jay yelled trying to scare them. Halfway through the second movie Henry took a mattress out for the floor sitters, and since Jimin had already seen the movie he unintentionally napped throughout it. He would never admit it, but his heartbeat accelerated a bit. "Guys, I... think i saw something or someone outside." "Maybe it was an animal. Are you already scared?" Gus said, teasing the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Motivation Of The Haunted House On October 28th I ignored my nerves and saw the haunted house put on by my fellow Waldorf students. I brought my boyfriend with me because I am too much of a scaredy–cat to go on my own. I truly am a baby when it comes to "scary" things; I hate watching scary movies or going to haunted houses. I have anxiety, and these types of things cause my anxiety to be extremely high. If I am being completely honest, my only motivation for going was to get the event for this class, since I have to miss other events because I will be out of state at bowling tournaments. It was not the fact that I did not like the haunted house that I did not want to go, it was only because of the fact I was too scared to go, but I am happy that I went. I realized that ...show more content... When I say the "mad scientist" I could not help but laugh a little because I recognized the person from watching him in other theatre productions and remembering how much he made me laugh; I love his acting. It was also another way to keep me calm. As we walked into basement rooms with concrete walls and duct work, I hesitated. I also hate basements, but kept going anyway. When we got lead into a little room, and a man came running towards us, I kept pushing and rushing my boyfriend, because he was not moving as fast as I was. I am not really sure why I was trying to get out so fast though, I knew he was not going to hurt us and I actually was not as scared of him as I thought I would be. I think it was more instinct and reaction because that's what you see them do in the movies. Hearing the chainsaw behind also did not worry me as much as I thought it would, but I was still on edge expecting more. When we walked into a room, there was a person standing right next to door way, and when I saw them I let out the loudest scream out of the few I did that night. Right after it happened I laughed at myself, at the fact that out of all the other things I had seen, this was the one that made me scream the most. When we finally got to the end, I expected a last jump scare that did not happen. Well, for us it did right as we were walking out of the doors, the other woman in our group (the one I knew) had grabbed my boyfriend Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Scariest Moment Of My Life Short Story The scariest moment of my life was when I got pulled over. I was terrified and I knew that I was going to be in a lot of trouble. I was on my way to Lake of the Ozarks with my best friends. We were having the best time in my dad's convertible, maybe a little too much fun. I got lost in the moment and didn't really realize how fast I was going. As I was the only person on the highway, I took advantage of that and ended up going 98 mph in a 70 mph speed limit. As I was enjoying the wind through my hair, the scenery of the beautiful Jefferson City, and the loud music out the speakers, I could hear a siren trying to overcome the sound of the loud music and when I looked in my rear–view mirror it was a cop. Of course it was any normal cop, it had to be a state–trooper, the scariest and most authoritarian one of them all. My heart stopped and I was flooded with tears and I knew, at that moment,I was screwed. I didn't know what do and the closer the officer got to my window, the more my heart was about to burst out my chest. I could tell by the way the officer was approaching my car that he was very angry and as soon as a stood in front of my window he was screaming at me because of my "inability to be a safe and responsible driver". I already knew what I was doing was wrong and he made it much worse. As the officer shouted with a nefarious look on his face, he asked for my licence and registration, I was crying and shaking continuously. He went back to his car, for what it felt like 10 years, and then came back and wrote me a ticket. Now, I thought my day couldn't get worse, but it definitely did. As I drove away from the first officer, I was going significantly slower than what I had been, I was going 65 mph in a 70 mph speed limit. As I continued driving, with tears still down my face, there happened to be another cop parked on the side of the highway. As I drove passed him, I was in the right–hand lane, on a two–lane highway, and I know I am supposed to get over for common courtesy, but I didn't have the opportunity to because of a car to the left to me. . Still going 65 mph in a 70 mph speed limit, he pulled me over. At this point of the day, I completely lost all sanity I had, and pulled over and cried. I Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 20. Narrative Essay Have you ever been scared? So scared that you felt that your heart might stop any moment. A feeling so intense that you wished that you never have to experience it again. I am not someone who possesses a weak heart. I have always considered myself a brave and calm individual. But I guess there is a point in life when even the bravest of hearts are tested to their limits. This is no different. It was May 3rd, 2007 just another day. I had classes in the morning. As it was a Thursday, I stayed back and spent some time with my friends after school. We had chicken broast for lunch at Helvatia and then we left to our respective homes. It was early summer.
