Stevenson High School Application Essay Sample
The past four years in and outside of Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois have been highlighted with a multitude of flavorous
events that created internal and external accomplishments within a life I am pleased to call my own. Each activity brought about a new chapter in my
own self discovery and alluded to a mindset that aged me from childhood to adulthood. From first setting my blank canvas of a body in the uncharted
ground of high school, I knew as a young pupil I was blossoming with potential to create something better for myself. I quickly took advantage of the
fine arts courses such as guitar and chorus, believing the only possible outcome could be learning instruments for my own self gain. My blind remark
was disproved quickly as being involved in the arts aided in meeting new people, creating a fearlessness in my own self expression, and realizing the
importance of the music community to yours truly. Using music and it's community as a platform, I developed the skills that are necessary to be an
adult. After becoming accustomed to the in–school involvement of fine arts activities, I wanted to push myself forward and participate in music outside
of school. Constantly searching, I...show more content...
The exception to this would be the turnout of my bands DIY concert. Finally reaching my aspiration of being in an independent band and creating a
concert to benefit society changed me as I discovered who I really am. Having the support of the music community and learning how to bring my
own ideas into life gave me the ability to spread my passion. Holding myself responsible for the past moments I created is something a child cannot
do. It altered my mindset to transition into adulthood as I realized I wanted to take on more responsibility and become more educated. University will
let me become the adult who is an advocate for using their platform to provide help to

In my first year of high school, I overcame my anxiety of being independent. All my life since the elementary school, there had always been someone
telling me exactly what I should be doing, where I should be going, what needs to be done, and how to get things done. This was especially apparent in
elementary and middle school. Students walk together in an assembly, go to lunch as a class, play together during recess, have interactive conversations,
and pack up together at the end of the day. Eventually, high school started and everything changed. I was expected to become independent. This
concept was new to me and made me anxious. Sooner or later, I had to overcome the fear of being alone. Being dependent of others during school had

I struggled to find my classes and eventually ended up asking for help from several different people. I was reluctant at first because I didn't like
asking for help, but I also didn't want to be tardier than I already was. I eventually did find my classes and I remember the relief of seeing the door
numbers matching the numbers on my schedule. Unlike middle school where students were grouped together, navigating through high school was a
significant difference.
On the first day of freshmen year, lunch period was the most confusing time of day. First off, I didn't have any idea where the lunch room was and
my classmates were going in different directions, which didn't help me at all. Apparently, different classes have different lunch periods, meaning it
wasn't definite if I would see my friends. And once I got into the cafeteria, I didn't even know where to stand for the lunch line. In elementary and
middle school, there was only one line with one line of food choice. But here I saw four different lines with different food choices. After a moment
of confusion, I did end up getting my food and finding a place to sit. I didn't even worry about finding my friends since I saw several people not
paying attention to anyone either. I saw many people who didn't even get lunches and that humored me. I just thought to myself they didn't know which
line to get in and were probably more confused than I. The noise

At my fifth birthday party my mother had a Mad Scientist come to entertain the kids at my party. The mad scientist performed many fun experiments
with dry ice, and my interest in science was born that day. As a five year old, I begged my mother to enroll me in a summer science class, since
science fascinated me. Even though I was actually the only female in that summer class of 25 students it did not deter me from enrolling in science
classes every summer since then.
Throughout my childhood, my interest in science also intertwined with my interest in the arts. In middle school, I volunteered at the after school art
program daily, helping other kids with art assignments. At my eighth grade graduation, I received both the art awards my middle school offered, for
dedication to after school art programs. Did I mention that I was also a competitive dancer for about seven years, proficient in ballet, jazz, tap and
Indian classical dance. This is when I began to...show more content...
My mother always told the puzzling story of how the cardiac catheterization performed on him before he passed away did not reveal any blockages or
heart problems, and yet he passed away once he was put on the heart lung machine as a precaution after the procedure. During the many meetings my
mother had with the hospital officials and doctors to figure out his cause of death, the probable cause of death was attributed to the drug "Rezulin", the
diabetes medication he was prescribed. That incident, the unexpected shock, the trauma, and the aftermath of figuring out the cause of his death,
developed my interest in medicine and inspired me to study medical sciences. Even though both my parents are engineers, once they became aware of
my interest in the medical sciences, they encouraged me to follow my developing

My High School Experience Essay
When people start high school they're usually so excited. They can't wait to experience everything that comes with being in high school, I mean
who wouldn't? Everyone says that high school is the best four years of your life. Now that I'm months away from graduating, I can't say they were
my best years but I can say they were my most educational years, of course I wouldn't say that they weren't fun because they were. When I say
educational, I mean I've learned so much about myself and so much about life. I learned what the words family, love, betrayal, law and life meant. All
these events changed me, and I'm glad they happened because I wouldn't have learned all these lessons. My personality hasn't changed; I'm still a

My freshmen and sophomore year, I had my first real boyfriend. I was completely and totally in love with this guy, he changed me in ways that I'm
proud of and ways that I'm not proud of. I revolved my world around him, which wasn't a good idea. After almost two years of dating, we broke up
and it literally shattered my world. During our relationship I became friends with his friends and I even considered one of them my best friends,
so when we broke up I didn't only loose him, I lost all of them as well. It felt so awful to all of a sudden have everything, and then just lose
everything in a day. A couple of weeks later, I found out that my best friend was actually dating my ex boyfriend. I couldn't believe that a person
could betray someone like that, especially after everything that she and I went through together. I'm not proud of the events that happened after
all of this, and I'm not proud of how I let them change me. The one thing that saved me was my family; they saved me in ways I can't even explain.
They gave me hope and a new life for me that I am extremely grateful for. I've learned to be wiser when it comes to picking friends, and choosing
who to put my trust in. I also became a stronger person, I don't let people walk all over me or I don't let people control my life anymore. The last
event is the one that taught me the most about how hard life is, and how life isn't always fair. My junior year was spent in Tijuana,

I am currently a biology major with a minor in chemistry and a pre–professional concentration. Being a Hispanic woman and first generation,
educational and professional opportunity and equality are challenging. That being the case, with my determination to overcome the odds, it is my
ultimate goal to become a pediatrician and open my own pediatric practice focusing on helping low income families. With the establishment of my own
practice I plan on giving equal attention and health services to all despite their financial situation. At this moment my goal is to finish undergraduate
school and attend medical school. With persistent determination I believe I will achieve this and accomplish my goal. Growing up, my family was
very supportive and always motivated me to do anything I put my mind to, even though most of them did not do so for many reasons. Some of those
reasons included a lack of encouragement, low finances, little opportunity and even the absence of an inspirational figure. Fortunately, despite my
limitations, I had the support system I needed. I was also lucky enough to have an inspirational figure that allowed me to discover what my true

High School Graduation Essay
Graduation
Through out life people go through so many hardships. Whether it be good or bad there is always something that comes out of the situation. One of
the most exciting but yet scariest events would be graduation. For a lot of people, graduating from high school is a goal. It takes a lot of time and
effort to achieve that goal. In the long run, it opens a lot of opportunities for people to succeed. Graduation is the end of high school, and the
beginning to life. I can almost remember that day like it was yesterday, I awoke like on any other school day. It was a gorgeous May morning, therays

Once I was finished, I gathered up my cap and gown and my car keys and headed out the door. All the graduates had to meet in the high school library
an hour before the ceremonies started, and I promised one of my best friends Tony that we would go together. I knocked on his back door and let
myself in like I always do. All of his family members were running throughout the house trying to get ready. I asked his mom where Tony was and
she proceeded to tell me that he was in the bathroom getting ready. I tapped on the door and walked in. He was standing in front of the mirror
with his cap and gown on. He look me straight in the eyes and said," Can you believe that we are about to graduate?" I replied," No, it really hasn't
set in yet." Tony finished getting ready, and then we left for the high school. The parking lot was filled with all the other seniors' cars. Tony and I
walked into the library ten minutes late like usual, and the principal had already started giving instructions. I found my place in line and then was all
ears. I couldn't help but look around at all the others. Smiles were plastered on their faces as if they had heard a hilarious joke. Once the principal
concluded his speech, the whole senior class paraded down the hallway to the commons in two uniform lines stopping just outside the gymnasium
doors. We could hear the band warming up and playing songs. All the people that were standing around me were bubbling

Hello, we would like to welcome and thank all of you for being here with us tonight to celebrate our high school graduation . It truly is an honor to be
surrounded by so many significant people who have impacted our lives immensely throughout our highschool years. We would like to thank the
wonderful people here tonight that we have the privilege to call our parents. Whether you are a mother a father, grandma or grandpa, or an aunt or an
uncle; we are here, graduating today because of all of you.
We would like to start this speech off with a little comparison between what parents think and what we, being the teenagers, think. It is well known
that parents and teenagers have not been always been known to agree on everything. Whether it was that haircut you got our that meal they tried to
feed you. Sometimes we just don't agree on everything. For instant, parenting in general, is often described differently depending on who you ask.
According to some parents, "parenting is 50% love, 10% lies, 10% yelling and 30% unclogging toilets". To them, "parenting is basically just listening
to yourself talk because nobody else is.". However, according to some, well most teenagers, "parenting is embarrassing us whenever, wherever 90% of
the time". To us, "parenting is having our own personalized cook, counsellor, chauffeur and bank". So yeah, there's a little bit of controversy there. But
parents, they're great, I mean, it is an huge understatement to say that you guys are awesome! To

High School University Entrance Exam
In June each year, high school graduates in Iran take a rigorous, centralized nationwide university entrance exam, called the Concours, seeking a place
in one of the public schools. It 's unfortunate that only 10 percent of applicants will be accepted. In The U.S, all the students, superb or lousy, have the
opportunity of studying in a college. In the U.S, I've met lots of people who were not doing so great in high school; fortunately, the transition from high
school to college has made them an exceptional student. In Iran, Komeil was one of my best friends, and despite the fact that he was not doing a good
job in high school, I could say with some confidence that if he 'd gone to college, he would've changed.

If you're a college student, you really should not participate in any political movements; there were countless of students who got to prison and got
fired just because they were in some political campaigns. Honestly, I've never seen a student getting fired out of college in The U.S. They just don 't
have all the restrictions that are in Iran. American students don 't get fired jus for having lunch with one of their female classmates, or that they don 't
get fired for participating in political movements.
There's something about the Councours that will blow your mind away: If a high school grads' father or family was ever in the military, their son
or daughter would get extra points on The Councours.Frankly, that is the most immoral policy of a test that I 've ever heard . So maybe even
Komeil was a qualified student to get into a college, but somebody else had taken his seat in college because 20 years ago his father joined the
military. In The U.S, I've never heard of such unfair policies, the tests and exams in the U.S. are all about the knowledge of a student.
I've heard from some people that the Concours is just like the SATs in the U.S., and my answer is a firm "NO!" Simply because the Concours is a
comprehensive, 4.5–hour multiple–choice exam that covers all subjects taught in Iranian high schools–from math and science to Islamic studies and

My Future Plans For High School
In a few months, I will make a huge decision that will help determine my future.
I have many plans for high school; such as what classes I will take and what clubs I will join. But first I Have to take the entrance exams
I have been studying for the high school entrance exams since the beginning of summer. My mom bought me three big texts books that will help with
the High School Placement Test, Independent School Entrance Exam, and Secondary School Admission Test. Recently I have started going to a tutor
that specializes in preparing students for the exams.
I am applying for schools. My first one is Charter School of Wilmington. It is my first choice because it is two minutes from my house, so I would
ride my bike. Also, it specializes in science which is my favorite subject, they are attached to an art school, which I also like to do, they have a good
tennis team, and it is free. Archmere is my second choice. I like it there because it has a large campus that has buildings that are spread out like a college
. Tower Hill is my third choice because it is next to my neighborhood. Also Tower Hill doesn't specialize in a specific subject it is an all
–around school
with art, music, math, science, and many more subjects. Friends is my fourth choice. I don't know much about Friends but i've heard it's a good
school and will prepare for college. Padua is my backup school in case I don't get accepted into any other school. I am interested in Padu because I have

Science High School Entrance Exam Tips
Science High School Entrance Exam: Math Portion Tips and Coverage
As a wide–eyed student trying to apply for a slot in a good high school, I tended to struggle through the mathematics portions of entrance exams.
Looking back, I think I would've appreciated some advanced warning regarding the test coverage.
The good news is that this help is now available to you. Think of the guidelines below as ideas on what you can expect during science high school
entrance tests and some tips on how you can do well on the exam.
Half the Battle
Math may be a very broad field in itself, but certain sub–branches of it have a tendency to pop up during science high school entrance exams. Some of
the most common math–related questions you can look forward...show more content...
Of course, you will also get the "once in a blue moon" kind of questions–think total eclipses, speculations on hypothetical planets, venereal diseases,
etcetera.
What? More Computations?
Don't lull yourself into a false security by thinking that this is science and not math. There are still some computation–related questions involved. For
example, you may be given the formula for computing the amount of kinetic energy in a moving object, and then asked to solve for the total amount
given a certain amount of speed.
Be sure to have your stock knowledge of simple formulas ready, as some questions will press you for answers without giving you the formulas at all.
They may, for example, tell you that a certain substance has a mass of twenty grams and a volume of one hundred cubic centimeters.
If you're not familiar with the basic formula for deriving density (mass divided by volume), then you'll have a trickier time arriving at the correct answer
of .2 grams per cubic centimeter.
Visual Stimuli
As with the math section of the exam, the science portion also involves some handy–dandy charts, graphs and diagrams for you to study and draw
inferences from. For instance, a common physics question involves a diagram of a circuit, where your job is to determine the direction of the flow of
electricity.

My whole life I have been invested in doing what I love, focusing on my true passions, as well as finding new ones. I have been very involved in
my high school, and have been lucky enough to be a part of multiple clubs and activities. Without these activities, my high school experience and life

These ups and downs vary because I experienced them in my academics and socially. I can't forget that I learned a lot and met many different
personalities, with people whom I trust and had many great times. Also as growing up throughout high school, I'm slowly seeing who I am. I know this
is not the end of life, just a great piece of my life will end and everything will soon change again. I can give so many advices to just start off great at
the beginning of anyone's high school journey. I think it's important to join clubs, activities,or sports so you can meet new people. It's important to
surround yourself with people who will take their education seriously because at the end of high school, you will see how far you got by being
surrounded with positive people and that's a benefit because you concentrate and achieve excellent grades and that leads to good colleges. Also,
joining more clubs and participating looks great with your cap and gown at the graduation! Another advice is do NOT procrastinate, I have done it
so many times and it sucks to sleep late and wake up early and by doing so, you avoid stress which is a pain in the butt. Do your homework, get good
grades, and ask

Stevenson High School Application Essay Sample

  • 1. Stevenson High School Application Essay Sample The past four years in and outside of Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois have been highlighted with a multitude of flavorous events that created internal and external accomplishments within a life I am pleased to call my own. Each activity brought about a new chapter in my own self discovery and alluded to a mindset that aged me from childhood to adulthood. From first setting my blank canvas of a body in the uncharted ground of high school, I knew as a young pupil I was blossoming with potential to create something better for myself. I quickly took advantage of the fine arts courses such as guitar and chorus, believing the only possible outcome could be learning instruments for my own self gain. My blind remark was disproved quickly as being involved in the arts aided in meeting new people, creating a fearlessness in my own self expression, and realizing the importance of the music community to yours truly. Using music and it's community as a platform, I developed the skills that are necessary to be an adult. After becoming accustomed to the in–school involvement of fine arts activities, I wanted to push myself forward and participate in music outside of school. Constantly searching, I...show more content... The exception to this would be the turnout of my bands DIY concert. Finally reaching my aspiration of being in an independent band and creating a concert to benefit society changed me as I discovered who I really am. Having the support of the music community and learning how to bring my own ideas into life gave me the ability to spread my passion. Holding myself responsible for the past moments I created is something a child cannot do. It altered my mindset to transition into adulthood as I realized I wanted to take on more responsibility and become more educated. University will let me become the adult who is an advocate for using their platform to provide help to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. In my first year of high school, I overcame my anxiety of being independent. All my life since the elementary school, there had always been someone telling me exactly what I should be doing, where I should be going, what needs to be done, and how to get things done. This was especially apparent in elementary and middle school. Students walk together in an assembly, go to lunch as a class, play together during recess, have interactive conversations, and pack up together at the end of the day. Eventually, high school started and everything changed. I was expected to become independent. This concept was new to me and made me anxious. Sooner or later, I had to overcome the fear of being alone. Being dependent of others during school had ...show more content... I struggled to find my classes and eventually ended up asking for help from several different people. I was reluctant at first because I didn't like asking for help, but I also didn't want to be tardier than I already was. I eventually did find my classes and I remember the relief of seeing the door numbers matching the numbers on my schedule. Unlike middle school where students were grouped together, navigating through high school was a significant difference. On the first day of freshmen year, lunch period was the most confusing time of day. First off, I didn't have any idea where the lunch room was and my classmates were going in different directions, which didn't help me at all. Apparently, different classes have different lunch periods, meaning it wasn't definite if I would see my friends. And once I got into the cafeteria, I didn't even know where to stand for the lunch line. In elementary and middle school, there was only one line with one line of food choice. But here I saw four different lines with different food choices. After a moment of confusion, I did end up getting my food and finding a place to sit. I didn't even worry about finding my friends since I saw several people not paying attention to anyone either. I saw many people who didn't even get lunches and that humored me. I just thought to myself they didn't know which line to get in and were probably more confused than I. The noise Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. High School Admission Essay Sample At my fifth birthday party my mother had a Mad Scientist come to entertain the kids at my party. The mad scientist performed many fun experiments with dry ice, and my interest in science was born that day. As a five year old, I begged my mother to enroll me in a summer science class, since science fascinated me. Even though I was actually the only female in that summer class of 25 students it did not deter me from enrolling in science classes every summer since then. Throughout my childhood, my interest in science also intertwined with my interest in the arts. In middle school, I volunteered at the after school art program daily, helping other kids with art assignments. At my eighth grade graduation, I received both the art awards my middle school offered, for dedication to after school art programs. Did I mention that I was also a competitive dancer for about seven years, proficient in ballet, jazz, tap and Indian classical dance. This is when I began to...show more content... My mother always told the puzzling story of how the cardiac catheterization performed on him before he passed away did not reveal any blockages or heart problems, and yet he passed away once he was put on the heart lung machine as a precaution after the procedure. During the many meetings my mother had with the hospital officials and doctors to figure out his cause of death, the probable cause of death was attributed to the drug "Rezulin", the diabetes medication he was prescribed. That incident, the unexpected shock, the trauma, and the aftermath of figuring out the cause of his death, developed my interest in medicine and inspired me to study medical sciences. Even though both my parents are engineers, once they became aware of my interest in the medical sciences, they encouraged me to follow my developing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My High School Experience Essay When people start high school they're usually so excited. They can't wait to experience everything that comes with being in high school, I mean who wouldn't? Everyone says that high school is the best four years of your life. Now that I'm months away from graduating, I can't say they were my best years but I can say they were my most educational years, of course I wouldn't say that they weren't fun because they were. When I say educational, I mean I've learned so much about myself and so much about life. I learned what the words family, love, betrayal, law and life meant. All these events changed me, and I'm glad they happened because I wouldn't have learned all these lessons. My personality hasn't changed; I'm still a carefree girl,...show more content... My freshmen and sophomore year, I had my first real boyfriend. I was completely and totally in love with this guy, he changed me in ways that I'm proud of and ways that I'm not proud of. I revolved my world around him, which wasn't a good idea. After almost two years of dating, we broke up and it literally shattered my world. During our relationship I became friends with his friends and I even considered one of them my best friends, so when we broke up I didn't only loose him, I lost all of them as well. It felt so awful to all of a sudden have everything, and then just lose everything in a day. A couple of weeks later, I found out that my best friend was actually dating my ex boyfriend. I couldn't believe that a person could betray someone like that, especially after everything that she and I went through together. I'm not proud of the events that happened after all of this, and I'm not proud of how I let them change me. The one thing that saved me was my family; they saved me in ways I can't even explain. They gave me hope and a new life for me that I am extremely grateful for. I've learned to be wiser when it comes to picking friends, and choosing who to put my trust in. I also became a stronger person, I don't let people walk all over me or I don't let people control my life anymore. The last event is the one that taught me the most about how hard life is, and how life isn't always fair. My junior year was spent in Tijuana, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. High School Admission Essay Examples I am currently a biology major with a minor in chemistry and a pre–professional concentration. Being a Hispanic woman and first generation, educational and professional opportunity and equality are challenging. That being the case, with my determination to overcome the odds, it is my ultimate goal to become a pediatrician and open my own pediatric practice focusing on helping low income families. With the establishment of my own practice I plan on giving equal attention and health services to all despite their financial situation. At this moment my goal is to finish undergraduate school and attend medical school. With persistent determination I believe I will achieve this and accomplish my goal. Growing up, my family was very supportive and always motivated me to do anything I put my mind to, even though most of them did not do so for many reasons. Some of those reasons included a lack of encouragement, low finances, little opportunity and even the absence of an inspirational figure. Fortunately, despite my limitations, I had the support system I needed. I was also lucky enough to have an inspirational figure that allowed me to discover what my true passion was and what my ultimate goal was at an early age. My cousin is a specialist physician in Miami and spending time seeing and understanding what he does has guided...show more content... Once I have completed that, I plan on returning to my home town in Naples, Florida to open my own pediatric practice. My goal is to become a facility that is able to work with and provide for those struggling with insurance issues, healthcare, etc. My ambition with this vision is to hopefully begin the domino effect and have establishments like mine arise all over the country. • 6. High School Graduation Essay Graduation Through out life people go through so many hardships. Whether it be good or bad there is always something that comes out of the situation. One of the most exciting but yet scariest events would be graduation. For a lot of people, graduating from high school is a goal. It takes a lot of time and effort to achieve that goal. In the long run, it opens a lot of opportunities for people to succeed. Graduation is the end of high school, and the beginning to life. I can almost remember that day like it was yesterday, I awoke like on any other school day. It was a gorgeous May morning, therays of sun flittered through my miniblinds blinding me as if I hadn't seen light in days. I sluggishly dragged my limp body out of...show more content... Once I was finished, I gathered up my cap and gown and my car keys and headed out the door. All the graduates had to meet in the high school library an hour before the ceremonies started, and I promised one of my best friends Tony that we would go together. I knocked on his back door and let myself in like I always do. All of his family members were running throughout the house trying to get ready. I asked his mom where Tony was and she proceeded to tell me that he was in the bathroom getting ready. I tapped on the door and walked in. He was standing in front of the mirror with his cap and gown on. He look me straight in the eyes and said," Can you believe that we are about to graduate?" I replied," No, it really hasn't set in yet." Tony finished getting ready, and then we left for the high school. The parking lot was filled with all the other seniors' cars. Tony and I walked into the library ten minutes late like usual, and the principal had already started giving instructions. I found my place in line and then was all ears. I couldn't help but look around at all the others. Smiles were plastered on their faces as if they had heard a hilarious joke. Once the principal concluded his speech, the whole senior class paraded down the hallway to the commons in two uniform lines stopping just outside the gymnasium doors. We could hear the band warming up and playing songs. All the people that were standing around me were bubbling Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Hello, we would like to welcome and thank all of you for being here with us tonight to celebrate our high school graduation . It truly is an honor to be surrounded by so many significant people who have impacted our lives immensely throughout our highschool years. We would like to thank the wonderful people here tonight that we have the privilege to call our parents. Whether you are a mother a father, grandma or grandpa, or an aunt or an uncle; we are here, graduating today because of all of you. We would like to start this speech off with a little comparison between what parents think and what we, being the teenagers, think. It is well known that parents and teenagers have not been always been known to agree on everything. Whether it was that haircut you got our that meal they tried to feed you. Sometimes we just don't agree on everything. For instant, parenting in general, is often described differently depending on who you ask. According to some parents, "parenting is 50% love, 10% lies, 10% yelling and 30% unclogging toilets". To them, "parenting is basically just listening to yourself talk because nobody else is.". However, according to some, well most teenagers, "parenting is embarrassing us whenever, wherever 90% of the time". To us, "parenting is having our own personalized cook, counsellor, chauffeur and bank". So yeah, there's a little bit of controversy there. But parents, they're great, I mean, it is an huge understatement to say that you guys are awesome! To Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. High School University Entrance Exam In June each year, high school graduates in Iran take a rigorous, centralized nationwide university entrance exam, called the Concours, seeking a place in one of the public schools. It 's unfortunate that only 10 percent of applicants will be accepted. In The U.S, all the students, superb or lousy, have the opportunity of studying in a college. In the U.S, I've met lots of people who were not doing so great in high school; fortunately, the transition from high school to college has made them an exceptional student. In Iran, Komeil was one of my best friends, and despite the fact that he was not doing a good job in high school, I could say with some confidence that if he 'd gone to college, he would've changed. The quality of the...show more content... If you're a college student, you really should not participate in any political movements; there were countless of students who got to prison and got fired just because they were in some political campaigns. Honestly, I've never seen a student getting fired out of college in The U.S. They just don 't have all the restrictions that are in Iran. American students don 't get fired jus for having lunch with one of their female classmates, or that they don 't get fired for participating in political movements. There's something about the Councours that will blow your mind away: If a high school grads' father or family was ever in the military, their son or daughter would get extra points on The Councours.Frankly, that is the most immoral policy of a test that I 've ever heard . So maybe even Komeil was a qualified student to get into a college, but somebody else had taken his seat in college because 20 years ago his father joined the military. In The U.S, I've never heard of such unfair policies, the tests and exams in the U.S. are all about the knowledge of a student. I've heard from some people that the Concours is just like the SATs in the U.S., and my answer is a firm "NO!" Simply because the Concours is a comprehensive, 4.5–hour multiple–choice exam that covers all subjects taught in Iranian high schools–from math and science to Islamic studies and foreign Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. High School Application Essay Sample As a child I always had a voice to be heard around the house, whether it was singing along to my favorite Barney songs or bossing my younger brothers around, my home was consistently filled with conversations of humor and sincerity. Soon after the Barney years came to an end, I turned into a chatty pre–teen. Life was moving along conversation to conversation, until it stopped. At the age of twelve, I was rushed to the hospital for what seemed to be a simple headache, but turned out to be a brain abscess– which required two invasive brains surgeries. I was one of the lucky ones, who got to walk away from my condition with both my cognitive and speech functioning remaining intact, but this experience was pivotal for me to want to go into a field where individuals were not so lucky....show more content... With the impressive amount of opportunities available on campus, such as the Child Development Center, Craniofacial center and affiliated hospitals, there are endless opportunities to develop into a therapist with extensive knowledge in the field. I come from a diverse academic background, having completed course work in the fields of psychology, linguistics, and cognitive science I have created a multi–faceted knowledgebase that allows me to think differently and present different ideas that are cohesive with what is being taught through the courses at UNC. My time spent in the hospital years ago has directly influenced the type of therapist that I want to be in my future. The most impactful doctors and therapists were those who were not only prepared with extensive knowledge to administer the most appropriate therapies, but also the ones who cared deeply about their patients. This experience has continuously motivated me in the field of Speech Pathology because I believe that I have both the compassion and ability to learn how to make the best therapeutic decisions for my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. High School Admission Essay Sample Ever since I was younger I have always wanted to help others. I seemed to have an urge to become a doctor because I knew that they helped people. My interests peaked when my grandmother would take me to visit her work. She was a CNA at a nursing home. I was fascinated with everyone wearing their scrubs and just being within the busy atmosphere. My wanting to become a doctor real grew during my high school experience. I had always excelled in the sciences so I took all the required courses, but I also took AP Biology and Anatomy and Physiology. During my senior year, they offered a program for those interested in the medical field, however, it required a selective competition with my other academically inclined peers. I just wanted to help people and have a positive impact on their lives. So, when I began my undergraduate program at Knox College, I majored in Biology as that was the pre–med track general route. As such, I needed to take one psychology course which I had to take online due to my many pre–med requirements. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the course although it was online. The course was very interactive as the professor from Waubonsee had online presentations of the chapter summaries. Don't know if it was because she was so passionate about her field or if I just enjoyed her quicks and personality, but I decided to take psychology as I potential second major. I figured psychology would be beneficial in a field working with people. Furthermore, during that same year I decided to join Alpha Phi Omega, a co–ed community service fraternity because I really enjoy volunteering. I also decided to take a leadership role and ran to become treasurer. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the organization so much that I decided to run for Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 13. My Future Plans For High School In a few months, I will make a huge decision that will help determine my future. I have many plans for high school; such as what classes I will take and what clubs I will join. But first I Have to take the entrance exams I have been studying for the high school entrance exams since the beginning of summer. My mom bought me three big texts books that will help with the High School Placement Test, Independent School Entrance Exam, and Secondary School Admission Test. Recently I have started going to a tutor that specializes in preparing students for the exams. I am applying for schools. My first one is Charter School of Wilmington. It is my first choice because it is two minutes from my house, so I would ride my bike. Also, it specializes in science which is my favorite subject, they are attached to an art school, which I also like to do, they have a good tennis team, and it is free. Archmere is my second choice. I like it there because it has a large campus that has buildings that are spread out like a college . Tower Hill is my third choice because it is next to my neighborhood. Also Tower Hill doesn't specialize in a specific subject it is an all –around school with art, music, math, science, and many more subjects. Friends is my fourth choice. I don't know much about Friends but i've heard it's a good school and will prepare for college. Padua is my backup school in case I don't get accepted into any other school. I am interested in Padu because I have only heard Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Science High School Entrance Exam Tips Science High School Entrance Exam: Math Portion Tips and Coverage As a wide–eyed student trying to apply for a slot in a good high school, I tended to struggle through the mathematics portions of entrance exams. Looking back, I think I would've appreciated some advanced warning regarding the test coverage. The good news is that this help is now available to you. Think of the guidelines below as ideas on what you can expect during science high school entrance tests and some tips on how you can do well on the exam. Half the Battle Math may be a very broad field in itself, but certain sub–branches of it have a tendency to pop up during science high school entrance exams. Some of the most common math–related questions you can look forward...show more content... Of course, you will also get the "once in a blue moon" kind of questions–think total eclipses, speculations on hypothetical planets, venereal diseases, etcetera. What? More Computations? Don't lull yourself into a false security by thinking that this is science and not math. There are still some computation–related questions involved. For example, you may be given the formula for computing the amount of kinetic energy in a moving object, and then asked to solve for the total amount given a certain amount of speed. Be sure to have your stock knowledge of simple formulas ready, as some questions will press you for answers without giving you the formulas at all. They may, for example, tell you that a certain substance has a mass of twenty grams and a volume of one hundred cubic centimeters. If you're not familiar with the basic formula for deriving density (mass divided by volume), then you'll have a trickier time arriving at the correct answer of .2 grams per cubic centimeter. Visual Stimuli As with the math section of the exam, the science portion also involves some handy–dandy charts, graphs and diagrams for you to study and draw inferences from. For instance, a common physics question involves a diagram of a circuit, where your job is to determine the direction of the flow of electricity. In

  • 16. Attending Catholic School Essay Attending Catholic school is very important to me especially because I have a lot of very good friends at Sacred Heart School. For example, my best friend Lucianna is attending Sacred Heart again next year and I look forward to her company. My teachers and the staff at Sacred Heart are kind, dedicated, and very nice and I really like our principal Mr. Coyle. Mr. Coyle teaches us that school can be holy, educational, and fun all at the same time. Everyone at my school teaches us about our Catholic faith, like the importance of following the ten commandments, our church history such as Peter becoming a martyr for his faith, and learning a lot prayers such as the Apostles Creed and the Prayer of Saint Francis. At my Catholic school we go to church every month and we have religion class every day. I like learning about my faith and that by having religion class on a daily basis, practice makes permanent. • 17. Sample Of Admission Essay For High School My whole life I have been invested in doing what I love, focusing on my true passions, as well as finding new ones. I have been very involved in my high school, and have been lucky enough to be a part of multiple clubs and activities. Without these activities, my high school experience and life would be a lot different. I have been an active drama club member, a part of 'Bottlecappers,' a club advocating anti–drug, alcohol, and bullying to younger students in my district, and many other community service opportunities. I am lucky to have the opportunity to be in these activities, as they have shaped me to be the young adult I am today. Before I even entered high school, I obtained a love of theater and the performing arts. I have been singing and acting since I was nine, as well as on and off dancing since three. Taking classes at a local theater really introduced me to this interest of mine. When I entered highschool, an injury kept me from doing shows. But now I graduate with nine high school shows under my belt, as well as being in multiple community theater productions. Being a part of these shows made me feel a strong sense of belonging, and whether I was an ensemble or lead...show more content... As I had mentioned earlier, I am part of an anti–drugs and alcohol club. I am extended the opportunity to speak to young students about the risks they could encounter. The feeling that those students may look up to us is very meaningful, and I feel it is a unique experience. I am lucky to have the chance to save a student's life through this club. Another community activity I enjoy doing is related to performing, but at senior citizen homes. Some of my friends and I often just like to get together with some music and go sing for them. This is a rewarding experience, as seeing the senior citizens smile, and making their day better, is truly a heartwarming experience every time I have the chance to perform for Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 19. My First Week Of High School Essays First week of high school Fun, scaring, exciting are the feelings of my first week of school. This is a brand new experience of my life having to leave my friends and teachers in middle school behind. New school, new friends and new teachers are all part of this new school year. This one is different though, it's the first week of high school. Most freshmen like me that enter the school are scared. I think the first week of the school is the easiest since there would not be a lot of homework and what you need to do is to listen to what you need for the class and know other people well in the class. • 20. My High School Journey At the beginning of my high school journey, it was scary. Just the thought of a new school, meeting new people, and the fact that this would be my last years before becoming an "adult" and getting closer to college, was unbelievable, yet scary. My high school journey had many ups and down. These ups and downs vary because I experienced them in my academics and socially. I can't forget that I learned a lot and met many different personalities, with people whom I trust and had many great times. Also as growing up throughout high school, I'm slowly seeing who I am. I know this is not the end of life, just a great piece of my life will end and everything will soon change again. I can give so many advices to just start off great at the beginning of anyone's high school journey. I think it's important to join clubs, activities,or sports so you can meet new people. It's important to surround yourself with people who will take their education seriously because at the end of high school, you will see how far you got by being surrounded with positive people and that's a benefit because you concentrate and achieve excellent grades and that leads to good colleges. Also, joining more clubs and participating looks great with your cap and gown at the graduation! Another advice is do NOT procrastinate, I have done it so many times and it sucks to sleep late and wake up early and by doing so, you avoid stress which is a pain in the butt. Do your homework, get good grades, and ask Get more content on HelpWriting.net
