season of faraway escapes and starlit soirées – Summer gives us
a chance to let loose from the everyday hustle and bustle into
chill new experiences on balmy days. We’ve taken inspiration from
stunning sunsets, Moroccan architectural geometries and dynamic lines
that create movement to move our adventures forward.
And Style Gets Social this season as we continue our adventures deeper
into ultra-cool Brooklyn, NY. Breezy silhouettes, soft hues and bare
shoulders have inspired us to indulge in gorgeous local sites and
sweet sundaes.
So grab your Summer essentials and go forth! Your chic escape awaits.
Take us with you at #WgoingPlaces.

Inspired by Summer sunsets, organic hues
make their appearance in delicious ombré
fringes and stripes. The silhouettes are
relaxed and soirée-ready for parties that
heat up as the sun goes down.
Stay neutral while making a statement.
Accentuate bronzed limbs in crisp, organic-hued
linens that are tactile and refined.

To stain lips with a wash of bright
color, use Revlon ColorBurst in Juicy
Papaya mixed with NARS Sheer
Lipstick in Manhunt. The two textures
create a natural finish that is bold
but grounded.
Swipe on your go-to blush for very
subtle contour that adds a healthy,
glowing-from-within flush to sun-
tanned cheeks.
Brighten up the eyes with warm
neutral shades that have a hint of
glossy sheen. Use a gel eyeshadow
formula to capture the nuances of
Summer sunshine over your lids as
you go through the day.
Next, use the YSL Effet Faux Cils
Shocking Felt-Tip Eyeliner to draw a
thin, sleek line that hugs the upper
lash line. This defines the eyes while
staying natural.

No visit to Brooklyn is complete without a
walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and a visit
to The River Café. Experience the world-
famous pizza at Grimaldi’s, and then go for
a whirl at Jane’s Carousel. Be sure to pack
a picnic and a cozy blanket for outdoor
screenings of film classics in Dumbo’s
Brooklyn Bridge Park.
In three words: beaches, boardwalks and rides.
For the brave of heart, the wooden Cyclone
roller coaster is a once-in-a-lifetime thrill. For
a uniquely festive experience, check out the
Mermaid Parade that marks the start of the
Summer season and features a medley of
mermaids and sea creatures.
Prospect Park is one of Brooklyn’s most
beautiful and iconic settings. The best
time to visit? During the annual Celebrate
Brooklyn! outdoor performing arts festival.
From internationally acclaimed musicians
performing at the park’s Bandshell, to
emerging cutting-edge artists, Celebrate
Brooklyn! is a cultural attraction not to miss.
Wander into this white-washed, French-
inspired haven in Williamsburg, Brooklyn
and be transported. Indulge in macarons in

Experience nature in the middle of
Brooklyn. Get lost amidst the specialty
“gardens within the Garden.” Get

TALK A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR PARTNERSHIP.
DO YOU HAVE ANY SUMMER ENTERTAINING TIPS?
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS
SUMMER?
FAVORITE VACATION SPOT.
Missy: Birmingham, AL.
Emily: Born in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved back to my parents’
hometown of Birmingham, AL at a year old.
Missy: Classic with a twist.
Emily: I don’t really have a style. I really feel most comfortable in leggings
and a flowy top or fun jacket. Also, I’m such a shoe freak. Love shoes!
Missy: I love clothes, but hate to shop. So W by Worth was a no-
brainier to make my life easier. I met Winn Crockard in the nail salon
and she asked me if I was interested. I said, “sure, I’ll try it.” Eleven years
later, minus a brief hiatus, I’m still here!
Emily: Missy Cox recruited me to help her sell. I thought going to
someone’s home to buy clothes was the strangest thing I had ever heard
of. I started because I needed extra money because I had two babies and
needed to have some fun money. That was 10 years ago. WOW.
Emily: Missy was on her own for a couple of years: then I came
aboard in 2006! She then took a few years off, but came back and
now sells with me. She also takes on regional recruiting as a Director
of Business Development. My focus is just on sales, which is the piece
of business I love most. Our different interests and strengths give us
the perfect balance for a successful business.
Missy: Emily and I are both laid back but also very goal-oriented. We like
to challenge ourselves, but it’s always fun.
Emily: I guess it works because she is super organized and she’s all about
the technical side of commerce. I wish I lived in Downton Abbey days; I’m
such an old-fashioned girl and love the social aspect. We are opposites in a
lot of ways but the same in many, too. I have known Missy since the third
grade. We used to play at each other’s houses in grade school.
Missy: Keep it simple - heavy cocktails, light hors d’oeuvres :)
Emily: Invite fun people.
Missy: The Worth 25th Anniversary meeting in NYC. I love getting
together with all my friends from across the country.
Emily: Going to NYC.
Missy: Beaver Creek, CO with my family.
Emily: Italy or Greece.

I have fresh flowers in the entry hall, kitchen, bar and guest bath. I prefer to have
evening parties so I can light every candle in the house and set the tone for a
chic gathering.
D R E S S C O D E
Some of my parties come to life because I find the perfect hostess dress. Entertaining
at home gives me permission to wear something long, whether it be a casual maxi
dress, or a full length skirt with espadrilles, or a pair of palazzo pants! I love the
drama of it. Sometimes I’ll wear shorts with a dressy blouse and wedge sandals, but
I personally can’t wait to put on the striped sheath dress from Summer 2016.
T H I R S T Q U E N C H E R S
Even in the Summer I like to have most of the party set up inside the house
with the food on my marble island in the kitchen and a full bar. Our guests
know that we will always offer champagne (a must!), cocktails and martinis.
S E A S O N ’ S E A T I N G S
Summer is the perfect time to have a cold seafood platter, which is an impressive
and effortless hostess trick. Everything is fresh and delicious and easy! For a 4th of
July party last Summer, I served oysters on a galvanized steel two-tier star shaped
platter. It was so fun and apropos. I also had a huge bowl of shrimp cocktail
(always a crowd pleaser) with an over-abundance of sliced lemons for a bold
dose of bright color. And, of course, no party is complete without a classic tray of
smoked salmon with capers and a big bowl of ceviche.
President of W by Worth, Courtney Denby, indulges
us in a few of her chic Summer hostess insights as
soirée season begins: “I love to entertain in the Summer
because it is less expected than during the Winter
holiday season.”

WHY DID YOU START WORKING FOR W BY WORTH? HOW LONG HAVE YOU TWO BEEN WORKING TOGETHER? - M I S S Y TALK A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR PARTNERSHIP. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUMMER ENTERTAINING TIPS? WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SUMMER? FAVORITE VACATION SPOT. Missy: Birmingham, AL. Emily: Born in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved back to my parents’ hometown of Birmingham, AL at a year old. Missy: Classic with a twist. Emily: I don’t really have a style. I really feel most comfortable in leggings and a flowy top or fun jacket. Also, I’m such a shoe freak. Love shoes! Missy: I love clothes, but hate to shop. So W by Worth was a no- brainier to make my life easier. I met Winn Crockard in the nail salon and she asked me if I was interested. I said, “sure, I’ll try it.” Eleven years later, minus a brief hiatus, I’m still here! Emily: Missy Cox recruited me to help her sell. I thought going to someone’s home to buy clothes was the strangest thing I had ever heard of. I started because I needed extra money because I had two babies and needed to have some fun money. That was 10 years ago. WOW. Emily: Missy was on her own for a couple of years: then I came aboard in 2006! She then took a few years off, but came back and now sells with me. She also takes on regional recruiting as a Director of Business Development. My focus is just on sales, which is the piece of business I love most. Our different interests and strengths give us the perfect balance for a successful business. Missy: Emily and I are both laid back but also very goal-oriented. We like to challenge ourselves, but it’s always fun. Emily: I guess it works because she is super organized and she’s all about the technical side of commerce. I wish I lived in Downton Abbey days; I’m such an old-fashioned girl and love the social aspect. We are opposites in a lot of ways but the same in many, too. I have known Missy since the third grade. We used to play at each other’s houses in grade school. Missy: Keep it simple - heavy cocktails, light hors d’oeuvres :) Emily: Invite fun people. Missy: The Worth 25th Anniversary meeting in NYC. I love getting together with all my friends from across the country. Emily: Going to NYC. Missy: Beaver Creek, CO with my family. Emily: Italy or Greece. I prefer to have evening parties so I can light every candle in the house and set the tone for a chic gathering. D R E S S C O D E Some of my parties come to life because I find the perfect hostess dress. Entertaining at home gives me permission to wear something long, whether it be a casual maxi dress, or a full length skirt with espadrilles, or a pair of palazzo pants! I love the drama of it. Sometimes I’ll wear shorts with a dressy blouse and wedge sandals, but I personally can’t wait to put on the striped sheath dress from Summer 2016. T H I R S T Q U E N C H E R S Even in the Summer I like to have most of the party set up inside the house with the food on my marble island in the kitchen and a full bar. Our guests know that we will always offer champagne (a must!), cocktails and martinis. S E A S O N ’ S E A T I N G S Summer is the perfect time to have a cold seafood platter, which is an impressive and effortless hostess trick. Everything is fresh and delicious and easy! For a 4th of July party last Summer, I served oysters on a galvanized steel two-tier star shaped platter. It was so fun and apropos. I also had a huge bowl of shrimp cocktail (always a crowd pleaser) with an over-abundance of sliced lemons for a bold dose of bright color. And, of course, no party is complete without a classic tray of smoked salmon with capers and a big bowl of ceviche. President of W by Worth, Courtney Denby, indulges us in a few of her chic Summer hostess insights as soirée season begins: “I love to entertain in the Summer because it is less expected than during the Winter holiday season.”
