2. T O R I H A Z L E T O N
I have chosen Tori to be my protagonist, as she is a young 16
year old girl, that can make the young audience connect and relate to. Tori
already has the similar style and look to my younger target audience, and her
style of music (retro pop) is also what she loves listening to, which in turn
would help her to perform better as she has the enthusiasm of the music video.
The actress is able to act believably in love and sad. This is helpful as she is a
similar age to the other actors. This would make them fit together perfectly.
Tori studies in Ringwood School, lives near my
house and we catch the same bus together.
This is very beneficial, as Tori can easily
come to the production shoots, as well as
the communication and the rehearsals will
be much more efficient. She has already
taken some dancing lessons before
and is eager to help me whatever it takes.
As I already know her personally, I know that
I can trust Tori to come to the shoots.
Most of the days she says that she is flexible;
after school and all of the weekends.
3. R E U B E N T Y L E R - W I L K I N S O N
I have chosen to cast Reuben,
because all his passions is on
acting and he wants to be an actor in his
career. Because of this, he is very eager
and passionate to take this opportunity to act,
“any opportunity is good opportunity”.
He was chosen out of thousands of kids to be a
part of the London School of Acting. This means I
have full confidence that Reuben would play the
part believably and naturalistically.
He is 15 years old. This might bring in young
audiences, as he can connect to the teenagers.
This means there will be a wider demographic in
my target audience to watch the music video.

• In order to show the audience that it is set in the late
60s and for the older audience to relate to, I will use
colourful bright or patterned skirt with shirts that have
a collar on them. The bright colours and the patterns
were very fashionable at that time and many young
girls and even adults wore different solid colours.
Red and musty yellow/ brown was one of the trends
in the 60s. I will use patterned knees length coloured
socks, as this presents the actress to be young. This
will also connect to the younger adult audience, as it
gives historic and fashion inspiration to the youths as
well as showing young love, (which is very popular to
the mature but young target audience). I will also
include a coloured scarf, either to wear around head,
or necks. This is a popular style in the 60s, many
women wore it outside. This is shown by many
celebrities such as Aubrey Hepburn in Sabrina and in
other films. This will therefore make the audience
recognise the year it is set in, as this type of
costumes is commonly shown in other older films
such as ‘Brooklyn’ and ‘Age of Adeline’ and ‘The
Man from Uncle’.
• I might have to use a couple of different outfits, in
order to show that the time has passed and it is a
different day.

• I will also show the late 60s
fashion in young boys. This will
set the olden times atmosphere
perfectly. Many boys wore with
high wasted jeans with belts on
and rolled up ends of their
trousers. Or suits with black or
grey trousers. The jackets and the
checkered shirts are still modern
at this time, so many young boys
who would relate will understand
the fashion. The throwback outfits
would also be beneficial for my
older target audience as the men
can recognise it when they have
grown up.

Top - I decided to
use a cute feminine
shirt,as this not only was
very trendy back then,
but the purple yet
delicate top, enhances
the colourful fashion of
the 60S.
Coloured tights.
These aren’t as
fashionable now,
but you can still get them
on Amazon and other
indie shops. This will
highlight the 60s look -
therefore the audience
would be able to
immediately recognise the
character is in the 60s.
Scarf - This is the
breakthrough of all
of the costumes.
This is very simple to
get as many people
still have scarfs. This
was very trendy and the
look mostly defines the
60s and the 70s. The
audience can relate and
can recognise it even if
it isn’ t their era.
Skirt -
Has come back
to fashion. Many of the
high waisted skirts are still
round in the high streets
shops. This would mean it
would be easier to get one
for my character.
11. Breaks Down of Male Costume
Black
trousers
Shirt Jacket
Shoes
These trousers will
be very accessible to
get as my actor can use
his usual school uniform
trousers. These are
classy and elegant,
which is perfect for the
60s look.
The polar shirt
can still be
accessible in
our shops today.
The marron or grey
colour is also very popular
at that time and
it creates a smart but
casual look,
which fits well for a young
actor.
The black
or brown jacket with a collar
over their shirt
was very popular at the time.
Although, these types of
jackets are quite hard to find.
A leather or a even a
jumper that look similar to the style
would be very helpful.
These classy shoes
were worn all the tim in the 60s.
As these are the most
common types that
even through the 40s
they would wear them.
This would be very easy
to get, as the
actor can use his school
shoes.

60s lamp.
The lamp will
not only reflect the room,
creating a warm colour to
the scene. But this indicates
that it is dark and it creates
good shadows on the actors
face.
Old Piano.
Many high middle class
family use a piano,
in tho olden days.
As the music video is
soft and orchestral;
the piano will fit well
along side the music - creating
the old and classical
atmosphere.
Envelopes
Make up Table.
This will be in the
background of her room.
The wooden table and the
old mirror, highlights the
olden day atmosphere due
to the wooden set.
Old book
I have multiple 60s old books - this will
be stacked at around the piano and
the room. Not only does it add to the
old atmosphere,
but this also shows that the character is
educational and likes to be buried in
a book.
In one of my scenes, I will
use the old mirror.
As this will be a good shot to
reflect the character’s
emotions when she looks
at the mirror. It needs to be
vintage as my music video is set
in the 60s.
This will occur in one of the
scenes as she carries
envelopes. This highlights the
olden day atmosphere as no
technologies were around.
The envelopes are the reason
the couple met.
14. I N S P I R A T I O N O F B E D R O O M .
I took some of the
pictures of the 60s to 70s look
in order to roughly see the
layout, the patterns
and what sorts of things
they use to include in their rooms.
This inspiration from ‘Bad Liar’
music video has guided me to
use patterned and colourful
props.
I will use exactly this
patterned duvet.
Old paintings Old rug
Colourful vintage pillow.
