Summary
I am currently at teacher in the Orange County Public school system in Florida. I have had 9 years of teaching
experience with 1-6th grades. I have had several years of private school teaching but decided to move into the public sector to
help make a difference in other areas. I am currently at Three Points Elementary. This school was recently rated a D school and is
a title one school. I knew this school would bring the experience I needed. My first year at Three Points Elementary School we
moved up a whole letter grade, from a D to C. I came in the middle of the year and helped turn a class around from being very
low to making huge gains. Many of my students showed great learning gains in their FSA scores. I decided it could not stop;
therefore, my principal decided to offer me a job this year as a 5th grade ELA teacher. In my 9th year of teaching I have learned a
great deal about the importance of student growth and the ability to differentiate instruction. I believe my philosophy in
education is closing the education gap which is not solely based off of testing, but a student’s individual growth.
