What is Hootsuite?

Hootsuite is a web
based application to

broadcast and schedule
your social network
media campaigns.

It enables you to
monitor multiple social
media accounts in one
place.

It automatically posts
all your scheduled
contents across your
social media network.

And it allows you to
schedule your posts
and/or content ahead
of time.

Hootsuite offers a free
account to which you
can only connect 3 of
your social media
networks.

Open your web browser

Google Chrome
browser is used in this
tutorial.

Type hootsuite.com in the
address bar and hit enter

Hootsuite homepage
will appear

Click on Sign Up

You have 3 plans to
choose from, namely:
• Free
• Pro
• Enterprise

Let s hoose the Free
plan

Click on Get Started Now

Enter the following
information on the Sign
Up page

Your Email Address

Your Name

Your Password

Your Timezone

Click Create Account

Notice the impressive

the right of the page!

Hootsuite is now giving
you the option of linking
your Twitter, Facebook,
LinkedIn and Google+
accounts to the
dashboard.

NOTE that for a FREE
account, you can only
connect up to 3 social
networks.

Hootsuite is now giving
you the option of linking
your Twitter, Facebook,
LinkedIn and Google+
accounts to the
dashboard.

Back on the Hootsuite set
up page, click on the icon
of the social media
account you would like to
add.

Click on Twitter

A pop-up window will
appear asking you to
authorize Hootsuite to
use the Twitter account.

Click on Twitter

Enter your Phone, Email
or Username

Enter your Password

Click Authorize App

Click Authorize App one
more time

Wait for the process to
finish

Twitter account has been
successfully added

Click Continue

Click Done adding social
networks

Click Add Social Network

Choose your social
network

Click Connect with
Facebook

By clicking on the
dropdown arrow from
your Networks tab will
show your added social
network.

To break it down: Each
social media account has
its own tab, and you can
choose to view a number
of streams for each tab.

Now you need to
populate your
dashboard. From there,

tab.

Double click on the tab

You can rename your tab
however you like

From the dropdown
menu, choose a social
network by clicking on it.

you select which
social network
you would like
to add

Each icon represents the
tabs in your Facebook
Page including your
unpublished posts

Click on the Timeline icon

You can now monitor
your Facebook Page
timeline from your
Hootsuite dashboard.

As you add streams, your
tab will fill up with a
column for each of the
streams you have selected.

and add or remove

One of Hootsuite s ost
useful functions is the
ability to schedule posts
to go out on all of the
social networks you have
connected with.

This is where Hootsuite
can really SAVE you time.

To schedule a post, use
the boxes at the very top
of the dashboard

The left-hand box is a
drop-down menu, from
which you select the
social media account you
want to schedule a post
for.

Choose the social
network where you want
to post

The right-hand box is
where you compose your
post.

You have the option to
include a link, which
Hootsuite ill “hri k for
you, as well as attach an
image or file.

Click the paper clip icon
to attach an image

Then select the file to
upload

Next, click the Calendar
icon to schedule post

Select a date from the
Calendar

Enter the date and time
to broadcast the post

Click Schedule

To review your scheduled
posts or edit them, click
o the Pu lisher arro
icon on the tool-bar on
the left on the screen.

Analytics Report

Hootsuite also provides
its own Analytics reports.

To access these, click on
the A al ti s graph i o
on the tool-bar on the
left of the screen.

There are only three
report templates
available to you as a free
user:

These free report
templates will provide
you with basic
information on your
accounts

Such as follower growth,
most popular links, daily
likes, and page
engagement.

using these free reports
along with the analytics
provided within each

of the social networks to
obtain a detailed picture
of your social media
performance.

the way the dashboard
works, which can take
