5. HOW TO USE IT
5
o There are two ways to use the search function:
1. Entering a keyword or phrase into the search box
2. Using the advanced search options to search by subject, year, or
even by Lexile measure.
Sometimes using the same keywords in both search options leads to
the same results.
10. SEARCH RESULT
o In both results you can choose what kind of resource you are
looking at to narrow your results, depending on your need.
o There are different types of resources to look at from articles to
sounds to maps and more.

11. HOW TO ACCESS ADDITIONAL
FEATURES
o On the main basic search screen of World book online, at the top
right corner are the words "Research & Resources"
o Once clicked, a menu will appear with more options. These
options include things like citation builder, atlas, timelines, and
more.
11
12. HOW TO USE
INTERACTIVE MAPS
Once that additional menu is shown, click on interactive maps. A world map will appear. There is
a search bar at the top right where you can enter in a country, city, state, etc. And it will zoom in
on the area and give you the population (if you search for a city) and a quick fact about your
search as well as a link to an article. You cannot search for counties in a state, but anything else
can be searched.
