2. Introduction
Project Gazaab is an Overseas Community Service Project (OCSP) with a mission to aid
communities in their fight against poverty through the establishment of a self-sustaining
support system of social entrepreneurship.
It spreads out to places in India, Indonesia and Nepal.
Project gazaab hopes that by exposing the entrepreneurs to a diverse set of knowledge and
people, and can help them to discover their own potential, their own ability and motivate
themselves to become leaders and changemakers.
Gazaab does this through our 3 pronged approach of social courses, social investing and
social consulting.
3. Introduction - What They Do
➔ At each of these locations(India, Nepal, Indonesia), their teams impart basic
businesses, economic and accounting knowledge to interested local parties who
enroll as students in a 10 day course.
➔ Here is a few of the things they teach the local students
1. Nature of Business
2. Understanding your Business Environment
3. Costing and Budgeting
4. Sources of Finance and Savings
4. History of the Venture
-It all started when the social entrepreneurs were moved deeply by the people
living in poverty by their passion.
-The students felt like they had to help the community rise above poverty
-The students took part in a competition consisting of 6 other groups for a reward
of $5000 by a sponsor
-Following the winning of the funds provided by Deutsche bank they set off to
other countries and started the entrepreneurship
5. Impact of Venture
Project Gazaab has impacted the lives of many locals.
For example,
In 2013, the Gazaab team came across a social entrepreneur named Paras Singh. He did
not only win the business competition because he had put what he had learnt into good use but
also went on to open the first Nainital cyber cafe and printing shop with the funds he earned.
His cafe turned out to be a huge success. However, what makes him even more successful is the
fact that he gives free computer classes for an hour in the morning and evening. Instead of being
selfish he is educating his community too to escape poverty.
