•Internet isn’t available everywhere, so this device
wouldn’t be able to work everywhere, unlike an
iPod or CD.
• New brand that hasn’t been around for as long
as apple, so doesn’t have the same backing or fan
base.
•Not everyone’s music is on Spotify, mainly
mainstream and not niche,.
•Artists can take their music off of Spotify at any
time they please, for example Taylor Swift took
her music off of Spotify.
•Spotify has adverts, so people would not be able
to listen to an album without interruptions for
free, as the premium costs money.
Opportunities
•This has scope to include a premium Spotify
account when you buy this device.
•Spotify could add more unusual music and
expand their libraries.
•Could come with an internet hotspot plug in, so
the streaming works anywhere for this device.
•You could also download playlists and albums on
to the device if you didn’t want to stream.
Threats
•Apple could easily come out with a brand new
device to challenge this, similar ideas could be
copied.
•Shops may refuse to stock this device as it is a
new company which is selling it so there is no
guarantee of making money.
•Spotify may pull out from this decision to stream
•Apple already have a Spotify app on their
devices, as do androids.
