The topic of the maincoverline of the firsteditionof mymagazine will be aboutlonelinessand

However, the topicof the maincoverline of the secondeditionof my magazine willbe aboutthe
goodthingsduringlockdownandwill focusonthe positive aspectsof the crisis,andputsan
emphasisonhow people needtotalkto eachothermore to benefitourmental health.
Both magazinesrefertomental healthandthe coronavirus.

The focus of my contentpages ismainlyon the effectsand consequences of the pandemic
because mymagazine wouldhave beenpublishedin March-April 2020.
Therefore,Icouldinclude animage of masksandhand sanitizers toshow the urge of cleanliness,
a picture of emptiness(forexample,anemptystreet) to reflectthe lockdownaswell as
includinganimage of someone gettingaswabtestfor covid-19,whichillustratesthe pandemic.
The secondeditionof mymagazine hasmore of an optimisticoutlook andfocusesmore on
communication duringlockdown, soIwill includeanimage of a phone withsocial mediaapps to
conveycommunication aswell asanimage of a hand holdingup5 fingers �,whichwould
illustrate the online trendof encouragingpeople todo a 5km run that had promoted acharity
that wasworkingcloselywiththe NHS toraise as much moneyforthe pandemic.

goingto be dressedforthe photoshoot?
For the mainimage of the first edition,Iwill use animage of amodel whoissittingdownonthe
floor,leaningagainstthe wall withtheirheaddown intheirkneeswitharmsacrosseach other.
Thiskindof bodylanguage will be used toconveysadnessandloneliness,whichwill be
emphasisedbythe use of lowkeylightinganddull colourslike greyandblue toreflect anxiety.
There will be nopropsused,sothat the focusison the bodylanguage.The model will be
wearingcasual clothes andsimple/nomakeupbecause Iwouldlikethe focustobe more on the
emotionbeingconveyed,ratherthanthe fashionandbeautyof the model,however,I
consideredusingblackand white clothestosymbolise the emptiness. The facial featureswill not
be showndue to howthe model will have theirheaddown,however,agreatsense of sadness
will still be illustratedandI believethatthiswill make the audience imagine the model crying,
makingthe emotionbeingconveyed more powerful. The focusisnotonthe locationof this
image,however,this will be takeninside,onthe floorwithablankwall;Iwant all the focusto be
on the model’sbodylanguage.

For the mainimage of the secondedition, Iwilluse animage of a phone showing aconversation
betweenfriends,whichwill reinforce the ideathatcommunicationhelpswithmental health.
The textmessageswill simply justbe askinghow eachotherare,whichillustrateshow asimple
questioncanmake someone feel better. Thisphotoismore positive, soIwill use highkey
lightingandvibrantcolourtoreflectthe happinessandpositive attitude of the image. The props
usedisthe phone itself asa source of communication. The backgroundof the image willnotbe
shownas the focusis all onthe phone.
For the additional coverimage of the secondedition,Iwill use apicture of youngchildren
holdingupcreative posterswitharainbow,which hasbecome asymbol forgettingthroughthe
pandemicaswell as showingafamily praisingthe NHS bytakingpart in the “Clapfor Carers”
campaign. I will make the mise en scène of the image reflectamore positive and optimistic
attitude tothe topic by usinghighkeylightingandvibrantcolourtoconveymore positivity. The
children’sposterswill be usedaspropsinthe image toshow the appreciationthe NHShadfrom
families. The familywill be dressed incasual clothestoreflecthow theyare athome duringthe
pandemic,however,Ihave consideredusing colours,like yellow,to emphasisethe happinessin
theirsmiles.Iwanttolimitthe use of hair and makeupbecause Iwould like the magazineto
focusmore of the emotionof the images,ratherthanfashionandbeauty. The familywillbe
standingupwithgreat posture andfacial expressionswithhuge smilesthatreflectoptimismand
enthusiasmaswell asappreciation(forthe NHS). Thisimage will be shotoutsideahome
environmentbecause peopleusedtoclapoutside theirhouses totake part inthe “Clap for

For the mainimage of the firsteditionof mymagazine, Iwantto use a eye-level angle tomake
the audience feel like theyare there withthe model while she islookingsad,whichwillmake
the audience have sympathyforthe model inthe image. Iwill alsouse the superimposeediting
technique toshowanotherimage inthe mainimage;the additional imagewill be apicture of
the model posingwithherface inherhands ina stressedmanner,whichwillemphasisethe
feelingsof sadnessandstress.

to standout more.The main coverline will be atthe bottomof the magazine below the main
image,while all the othercoverlinesare surroundingthe image atbothsides. The additional
image will actas anothercoverline andwill be placed onthe side of the magazine. Iwill editthe
colourof the mainimage,sothat the colour of the backgroundof the magazine will be lighter

the bottom-rightof the magazine,where the audience willfocustheirattentionlesson,

For the mainimage of the secondedition,Iwillnotinclude the backgroundof the image,sothat
the focusis all on whatis beingshownonthe phone inthe image. The mainimage will be inthe
middle towardsthe leftof the magazine,whilethe additional coverlinesare placednexttothe
mainimage on the rightof the magazine. There will be anadditionalimage tosupportthese
coverlinesatthe top-right.Thisadditional image will be framed withaborderinthe colour that
will suitthe colourscheme of the magazine. The maincoverline willfitbelow the mainimage on
the bottom-leftof the magazine.The masthead willbe placedabove the mainimage atthe top-
