Solar Cars
Schneider Electric’s Solar Car
Activity is aimed at students in
grades 3-6. After splitting into
teams of 2-3, students are asked to
build a mini Solar Car by following
directions in a provided Solar Car
Kit. Once everyone has
successfully built their cars and after
a brief lesson on Solar Power, we
head to the blacktop to find out who
will win the “Solar Grand Prix.” After
the activity, cars can be taken apart,
so that the activity can be replicated
with other students. The goal of this
activity is to broaden student’s
awareness on renewable energy
resources.
