HRP, Selection, Induction and Training
Meaning of HRP:
HRP is the process- including forecasting, developing,
implementing and controlling- by which a firm
ensures that it has the right number and kinds of
people, at the right place, at the right time, capable
of effectively and efficiently completing those tasks
that will help the organisation achieve its overall
objectives.
Importance/Benefits of HRP:
 It forecasts the recruitment needs in terms of
numbers and skills
 It reduces costs associated with wrong hiring
 It helps to achieve an integration of personnel plan
with other organisational activities
 It helps to design personnel functions such as
recruitment, selection, training and development
 It helps to introduce changes from employee
resistance
 International expansion strategies depend upon HRP.
 It enables tocope with changes in competitive forces.
Meaning of Recruitment:
Recruitment is the process of finding and
attracting capable applicants for employment.
The process begins when new recruits are
sought and ends when their applications are
submitted. The result is a pool of applicants
from which new employees are selected.
