2. Ten Thousand Villages is part of an international relief and
development agency based in Winnipeg, Canada which
provides vital income to Third World people by selling their
handicrafts in stores across North America.
The company works with artisans who would otherwise be
unemployed or underemployed, providing them with both
market and product development assistance.
3. The income earned by the producers helps pay for food,
education, healthcare and housing.
Most of their employees are volunteers
and they hire dedicated, committed and
invested employees who are dedicated
to the mission, to work in their retail
locations and offices throughout U.S.
