7. Hiring Hacks Speaker
Steve Wood
Technical Recruiter
Steve’s recruiting career began as the best after-school job a high
schooler could dream of: sourcing for big software companies like
Oracle and SAP at a tiny agency. Following stints fixings iPhones at
the Apple Store and changing tires, his love of sleuthing drew him
back to recruiting at The McIntyre Group, a boutique staffing firm in
Connecticut, where he hired developers, project managers, and IT
people for hedge funds, investment banks, and small software
companies.
He then moved to the big city to leverage his creative sourcing tactics
at Google, where he also picked up an appreciation for smaller start-
up environments through conversations with candidates along the
way. Steve has been a Technical Recruiter/Sourcerer/Level 2 Super
Genius at Squarespace for the past two years, engaging engineering
talent for opportunities on their fast-growing team. His mastery of the
deep web is surpassed only by his passion for pizza
