This reference letter is provided at the request of Goran Paunovic, Direkcija za
poštansku mrežu with the Public Enterprise Serbian Post.
It is my understanding that Mr. Paunovic has applied for the position with your
organization. The information contained in this letter is confidential and should be
treated as such. It should not be disclosed to anyone within your organization who
would not be involved in the hiring decision regarding this individual. Moreover, it
should not be disclosed to anyone outside of your organization without the written
consent of Goran Paunovic.
Mr. Paunovic was assigned to work with Canada Post International Ltd (CPIL) by the
Serbian Post during the years 2002 and 2003. I was the Project Director with CPIL
with the responsibility of delivery project to the Serbian Post. Mr. Paunovic was a key
member of the Serbian Post implementation and rollout team.
Goran Paunovic was a Serbian Post project Manager assigned to the following
national-scope projects:
- National Track and Trace development and implementation
- Franchising Model for Retail Operations
Mr. Paunovic’s role was the establishment of Project plans with local management
responsibility for development and customization input. In addition, he had a
particular focus on organizing local training programs for Serbia Post management
and staff, and implementing revised, modern Operational Business Processes to the
Serbian Post environment.
Mr Paunovic always displayed a professional manner in dealing with his peers, senior
management and subordinates. He demonstrated a clear understanding of
management techniques and had a strong commitment to ensuring that all his
responsibilities were carried with efficiency and quality.
He displayed good organizational skills in planning and scheduling a diverse group of
management and workers for country wide training sessions. The initial sessions were
conducted by CPIL, however the training was subsequently rolled out across the
Serbia Post under Mr. Paunovic’s direction.
As with most project delivery exercises, at times situations arose that caused plans to
be modified and/or recovery activities were necessary. Mr. Paunovic displayed a calm
and reasoned approached to resolving these problems.

In addition, Mr. Paunovic participated in several Management training courses
provided to Serbia Post employees on Management concepts including:
- Lean Manufacturing
- 5 S Workplace Organization
- Production Control
- Change Management
- Process Control
Mr. Paunovic brought the knowledge from these courses to the practical
implementation of Serbian Post projects in an operational environment.
Following the Project implementation of Track and Trace, Mr. Paunovic has
continued to be the lead in the use of Track and Trace in the Serbian Post.
