3. I wish to give you my personal Welcome to the “Global Off-Grid
LifeStyle” Experiences and Vacations.
Living Off-Grid is a natural desire, we definitely need to learn how to
do it … Better with an experience that combines business with fun
and vacation!
All our courses has a theoretical lessons and labs.
At the end of the course you’ll be able to achieve in practice what
you have learned during the Global Off-Grid LifeStyle Experience and
immediately change the way you live!
Of course, a course does not run out everything you need to know to
live Off-Grid, but it will be a valuable step forward and above all a

5. INTRODUCTION:
• Paradigm Off The Grid
• Off-Grid Community and LifeStyle
will seek to define the main characteristics of the Off-Grid concept
and its meaning declined in the social, economic and environmental.
We’ll see a brief history of democracy, focusing on the ideas and
experiences that have seen greater involvement of citizens in their
territory management.
In this path will deepen the most important techniques, such as
participatory budgeting and theories, such as Social Ecology, able to
substantiate the Total Off-Grid paradigm.
6.
7. GLOBAL OFF-GRID ECONOMY:
The Global Off-Grid Economics course will provide the basic tools to
understand the historical process and economic system that has led
to one of the heaviest network (grid) at the global level: the current
monetary system.
The goal of this course is to give the necessary basics info for
understanding the monetary patterns and currencies, also through a
compelling simulation practice.
The result will be a shocking, and certainly different, perception of the
world around us.
8.
9. SELF-SUFFICIENCY ENERGY TECHNIQUES:
Energy is not everything: water, soil, food and many other natural
resources are equally important to live happily Off-Grid.
In this course we’ll learn how to store electrical energy and heat in
hot water or hydrogen form but also how these can be integrated
with the clean-water production, with heating, with the sea water
desalination or with irrigation techniques.
Using a Global Off-Grid System as a teaching-tool, we’ll learn the
integration of all Global Off-Grid LifeStyle aspects.
An interesting and strategic theme.
10.
11. LAB – SOLAR PANELS:
The Solar Panels Lab will be a practical lesson of installing a
photovoltaic and a solar thermal system using the Global Off-Grid
System.
You will learn in detail the basics of operation and will address all
security aspects and how to use the stored energy.
12.
13. BIOCLIMATIC ARCHITECTURE & LANDSCAPE:
This course will address the bio-architecture issue; an architecture that
uses the wrapper and renewable energy, building environmentally
sustainable houses, taking into account the climatic conditions (sun,
wind, etc..) and finally that integrate with the surrounding landscape.
It will also provide a brief introduction to the topics of energy classes
and new technologies design.
Finally, we’ll propose a short tutorial about the subject of Global Off-
Grid LifeStyle homes.
14.
15. RAINWATER, CISTERNS & PHYTOREMEDIATION:
The Water Cycle Optimization for Civic Uses
This course will address the water properties and use.
In the first part, technical, we’ll talk about the power of water self-
purification, what is the mechanism by which water is able to break
down organic pollution ("organic load"); followed by a natural
purification system analysis (constructed wetlands) and as such waters
can be reused.
After a more general will be addressed, which will discuss how climate
changes are exacerbating the distribution of rainfall at different
latitudes.
Finally, will exhibit the rainwater reuse methods, the tank sizing,
according to the family needs, for rainwater storing and related filters.
16.
17. PHOTOVOLTAIC:
Exploitation of Solar Energy: Electricity from the Sun
The course will show a simple technical aspects of photovoltaic
panels.
First will be discussed, in general terms, how much energy can be
derived from the sun and how.
Secondly, a brief technical description of a photovoltaic panel,
explaining, by examples and hands-on, the differences between a
conventional system and a Global Off-Grid System plant.
Will show a section with more general advice on how to improve the
homes energy efficiency through the DC tools use and also by
referring to the complete Global Off-Grid Systems.
18.
19. HYDROGEN:
As part of the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources,
given the ongoing decline in new deposits of traditional fuels, storing
electrical energy is the founding and fundamental theme of energy
management in the coming decades.
In this context, hydrogen is positioned as the ideal candidate as an
energy vector for the transition.
This course aims to enable attendees to orient themselves in a
thousand streams that hydrogen research has created over the
years, so as to have a clear view of the technology and its future
developments making the simplest molecule that nature offered us
(hydrogen) easily accessible and manageable even for domestic
purposes.
In this lesson we’ll produce pure hydrogen through an electrolyzer.
20.
21. GREEN TRANSPORTATION:
There is an 'heavy' infrastructure network for fuels (fossil) distribution
that greatly affects our choices and our lives.
Living Off-Grid means to live out even from this network.
Electric vehicles with renewable sources supply (wind and sun), the
hydrogen carrier in transportation and alternative transport systems
are now a reality on which we must reflect.
Give an updated overview about today options to be independent
from the “gas station” network is the purpose of this course.
22.
23. SOLAR THERMAL:
During the course we will analyze the solar thermal energy potentiality
to produce useful heat at home, to make hot water, to supplement
the winter heating or for heating swimming pools.
We’ll see the main types of solar collectors and systems and their
efficiency based on the installation conditions and environmental
factors.
We’ll point to of solar thermal potentiality for larger applications such
as sports centers, hotels, farms, communities.
At the end we’ll see how the solar thermal, in certain applications,
can help make cooling (solar cooling).
24.
25. BIOMASS:
During Biomass course we’ll see the main systems for heat generation
using biomass as a fuel for domestic heating, but not limited to.
We’ll analyze efficiencies, advantages and criteria for the leading
and innovative systems selection.
Those with manual loading as fireplaces and stoves, both connected
to heating or air plant, up to automated systems such as those for
pellets and wood chips.
We’ll see also the storage arrangements for these types of fuels, their
dimensions, the criticalities must be observed and the self-made
systems.
Then we shall refer to how self-build a simple domestic biomass heat
generator.
26.
27. LAB - BREAD:
This Lab is a workshop to learn the traditional Italian baking process.
Put your hands dirty, under the careful supervision of the Italian bread
craftsmen.
And, we’ll taste the freshly baked bread!
28.
29. LAND ART:
This workshop will be an experiment in art shared that, starting from
Land Art, aims to explore a new artistic approach in accordance with
the host site.
Our aim is to conceive, design and build an art installation deepening
the relationship between art and nature.
The activity will take place between the place that hosts us scenarios,
where we will walk searching scenery and materials suitable to carry
out our work.
The final installation will consists in a sign that temporarily modify the
natural environment and destined to be reabsorbed by the place, at
their own dynamics and pace.
