Solar power

  1. 1. How doessolar powercreate energy?
  2. 2. Before youre able to produce electricitythrough solar energy, there needs to besome form of solar cell or panel that will be used to absorb the suns energy.
  3. 3. Solar panels are constructed from asemi-conductive material with themost common material of choice being silicon.
  4. 4. The semi-conductive material containselectrons which will naturally just stay there not doing anything.
  5. 5. When photons (contained within thesuns rays) hit a solar cell, the electrons contained in the solar cell material absorb this solar energy, which transforms the electrons into conduction electrons.
  6. 6. If the energy of these photons is great enoughthen the electrons are able to become free and carry an electric charge through a circuit to the destination
  7. 7. Solar panels can be used in a variety of different ways in order to harness the suns energy.
  8. 8. This is a picture of how solar is changed into energy
  9. 9. THIS IS ANOTHER PICTURE OF SOLAR ISTURNED INTO ENERGY
  10. 10. THE SOLAR POWER GENERATOR GOES LIKETHIS… THE SUN FOCUSES ON WATER, IT TAKES AWHILE TILL IT BOILS DOWN AND THEN CREATESSTEAM THEN THE STEAM TURNS THE TURBINE TO MAKE ENERGY AND TRAVELS THROUGH THE POWER LINES TO THE HOUSES.
