4. PARANOID PERSONALITY DISORDER
People with PPD tend to have little trust for
other people and often assume that others
motives are meant to be hurtful. They are
emotionally guarded and have an excessive
need to be self sufficient due to this lack of
trust for others.

5. SCHIZOID PERSONALITY DISORDER
People with SPD generally have trouble
relating to others and therefore may avoid
close relationships. They have a smaller
range of emotional expression and appear

People with STPD may feel uncomfortable

8. BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER
People with BPD have intense mood changes
and high anxiety such as intense panic and
worrying. They may have a many changes in self

9. HISTRIONIC PERSONALITY DISORDER
People with HPD often have a tendency to be
highly emotional in social situations and are
easily influenced by others. They also strive to
be the centre of attention and will become

10. NARCISSISTIC PERSONALITY DISORDER
People with NPD show a pattern of feeling
overly important. They need the admiration
of others and lack empathy. They also often

People with APD have strong feelings of
being inadequate. They are very shy and
are sensitive to criticism. Most seem to be

12. DEPENDENT PERSONALITY DISORDER
People with DPD tend to feel helpless and
uncomfortable alone. They feel an extreme
need to be taken care of and often cling to

people to lead the making of their

13. OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE PERSONALITY DISORDER
People with OCPD have a pattern of behaviour
in which they constantly need things to be in
order and a need to be in control. They may be
excessively dedicated to work and are usually

14. Learning about these different types of
disorders is significant to my life because I
work with people with mental health
problems or delays and have people in my
personal life who have been diagnosed with a
couple of these disorders.
Learning about these will be beneficial to my
future career plans as I plan to go into the
Social Work program and intend to always
work in a mental health field.
