2. ABLE TO SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT
• Bioremedation could be the cure for our polluted planet; It consists
in the use of living organisms to eliminate or neutralize pollutants
from the environment.
• There are microscopic beings that
can degrade oil, hydrocarbons and insecticides.

3. GENETIC MODIFICATION
• Each advance of Biotechnology, specifically in the area of genetic modification, is
a step forward in the control of the human genome. Thanks to the intervention of
genetic scientists, it is possible to repair damaged genes that are the cause of a
large number of lethal diseases, something that is still struggling today.

4. TRANSGENIC FOODS
• The GM crops that are currently planted were developed with the purpose of
improving the characteristics of food products. Some examples that have been
successful are corn, cotton and soybeans, resistant to insects and herbicides,
which only affect the scattered weeds around them.
• In the future, other characteristics are improved:
resistance to viruses, fungi, bacteria, and tolerance
to droughts and frosts.
