2. “Honey came in and she
caught me red-handed
Creeping with the girl next
door
Picture this we were both butt
naked
Banging on the bathroom floor
How could I forget that I had
Given her an extra key
All this time she was standing
there
She never took her eyes off
me”
Shaggy - It Wasn't Me (Lyrics)
The lyrics sung by a man
discusses the events of how
he was caught cheating on
his girlfriend.
It is as though he is bragging
about it; which does not
bowed well with
stereotypical cheating man.
It gives you a negative feeling
towards men because many
women regard some men as
“once a cheat always a
cheat”.
The beat of the song is
catchy and uplifting giving a
positive mood opposite to
one of a girl who has been
cheated on.
3. ‘Gas Pedal’ by ‘Sage The Gemini’
The tempo in the song slows down to a beat
matching the lyrics: “slow down grab the
wall”
It gives off a provocative mood where the
artist ‘sage’ insinuates a slow seductive
moment within both the beat and lyrics which
could symbolise a man and women.
4. ‘Mercy’ by Kanye west is aimed at males who
want to be successful have nice cars and sex
with beautiful women.
It is filmed within a car park with a matte
black Lamborghini in the background showing
their wealth as well as their designer black
clothing.
It is stereotypical American ‘black’ hip hop
video.
5. Again in ‘Mercy’ by Kanye West the camera
pans from left to right at a low angle which
highlights the men's power and wealth.
6. The most common form is fast-cut montage,
rendering many of the images impossible to
grasp on first viewing, so ensuring multiple
viewing.
Often enhancing the editing are digital effects,
which play with the original images to offer
different kinds of pleasure for the audience.
7. Fancy by Iggy Azalea mimics scenes from the chick
flick Clueless. Many females will admit to have
watching this films therefore the similarities
between them has made Iggy’s video popular. (Iggy
features in the pic on left hand side as opposed to
the character she is portraying on the right hand
side)
8. Prodigy: In many of there videos they promote
their logo, as an insect which is ironic because
the music they create is loud electronic/acid
house which you could picture a more
ferocious species as opposed to an insect.
9. Weekend – Michael Grey
Women portrayed as a sexual asset to enhance
views in particular by men.
Good looking women make a good weekend.
(Thought that this may be what the video
promotes)
