2. Architectural Portfolio
Portfolio includes different projects highlighting several type of architectural
work done during authors professional experience. Each of chosen projects
are addressed to highlight the abilities and knowledge of the author. Thus the
introduced projects are:
1. Implementation planning, which is one of the projects done during internship
in Georginas Architekten, Frankfurt am Main.
2. Draft (preliminary) project of two attached houses on the shore of lake
Sevan in republic of Armenia. The project won the competition held by the
customers. All drawings and renderings were done by the author.
3. “Mezzo” pizzeria in Neftekamsk, Russian Federation is an interior design
project implemented in 2012. All the phases of the project (from sketch to detail
planning) were done by author. Thanks to its “bright” design it became popular
place among young people of the city.
4. “Attic Reconstruction” was a project for the headquarter of “South
Caucasian Railways” company in Yerevan, Republic of Armenia (2008). The
project was approved by the costumer but not realized because of
financial crisis.
5. “Adaptation” project is a reconstruction of historical housing according to new
living standards. These houses were built during 1920th in city of Gyumri
(Republic of Armenia) and damaged from the earthquake of 1988.

Introduction
3. Multifamily House in Bockenheim, Frankfurt am Main
Implementation planning
After completing Frankfurt University of
Applied Science I did an internship in
architectural office “Georginas Architekten”
(Frankfurt am Main, Germany)
This office is specialized on planning and
transformations of old buildings, issue which
is important for both developing and
developed countries.
During three months of internship I was
developing implementation and detail plans
for several buildings.
One of these buildings is located in Hedwig-
-Dransfeld-Straße in Bockenheim district of
Frankfurt am Main. This is new multifamily
housing developed on the old housing block.
Complex constructive solutions of the house
use concrete, brick and wooden constructions
creating open terrace on the top.
Our team of architects (four person) was
working in collaboration with engineers and
construction supervisors.
These months gave me an opportunity to
get familiar with German construction
regulations and methodology.
4. House on the Shore of Lake Sevan, Armenia
House
These family houses were designed for two brothers
(and their families) on the shore of Lake Sevan (Armenia).
In order to find a better solution for houses with some
sport facilities and pier for boats a competition between 5
architectural studios was organized.
Presented project was recognized as the winner of the
competition, offering unique approach.
The form of the house reminding a bird came out from
two main circumstances:
First are the natural conditions, as the area was in the
sunniest but windiest part of the shore. Thus big glass
façade (double glassed) from the lake side are curved
in order to allow the wind easily pass around.
The second part of the idea came out from the fact that
the owners were living out of the country, meanwhile
very often visiting their homeland (flights were part of
their life).
Two mentioned facts became basements for creating
these forms.
The shapes are very simple for planning and construction,
at the same time being harmonic with the nature around.
This project was done in 2012. Unfortunately the
owners postponed the construction because
of unexpected financial problems related to
economic crises. .
5. Pizzeria “Mezzo”, Neftekamsk, Russia
Interior Design
The Pizza Restaurant was designed for a city in Russian
Federation called Neftekamsk. Situated in the ground floor
of a shopping mall at the center of the city.
The restaurant has an area of about 228 square meters in
total (kitchen and small office space included).
The task was to create an space attractive for people of all
ages. The three colors of Italian flag (red, white, green)
were chosen (by client) as the main colors of restaurant.
At the same time it had to be designed as cheap as possible,
with simple methods of construction. Also the restaurant was
planned to accommodate about 80 customers.
This project was my first experience working online. It was
done in a distance through internet (email, Skype etc.).
I was in contact with the constructing supervisor who was
giving all the needed information through telephone,
photos and videos.
In this project I was the main designer and decorator of the
space, consulting the engineers and craftsmen in Neftekamsk.
The design of the furniture and some parts of external
advertising were also done by me.
The project was realized during 2011-2012 and opened in
summer of 2012.
Now it is one of attractive restaurants of the City.
6. South Caucasus Railway Headquorter, Yerevan, Armenia
Attic Reconstruction
This project was done for South Caucasus Railway headquarter in Yerevan, Armenia in 2008. Newly established company needed to reorganize and
create new office space, in existing building. Thus the tusk of our team (two architects) was to create a concept of attic reconstruction where they intended
to have new office spaces, a library with reading halls and archive. On the same time the newly added structure had to be as light as possible at the
same time strong enough for seismically active area (Armenia is a seismically active zone).
It had to provide large space for work with a roof resistant for cold snowy winters and
hot summers.
After consultation with engineers we came to the idea of having small metal columns,
which would be connected by similar metal slabs/columns (square 10x10) on the top,
bottom and diagonal.
The walls should be constructed with
plasterboard, thus avoiding concrete
or stone in construction as much as
possible. Thanks to this concept square
shaped roof was created. This shape reminds
wagons of a train. Colorful glass of the attic suppose
to change dull environment of tufa and concrete buildings.
The project was approved by the chief of the
company and became a base for future
development of the office areas inside the building.
The reconstruction of the building has been
delayed due to some financial issues.
7. House N34, N36, Giumri Armenia
Adaptation
This, 'adaptation' project was realized during 2002-2003 in
Gyumri city, Armenia. The goal was to cultural heritage
building according to modern living standards.
After earthquake of 1988 in Armenia many buildings
were destroyed, others like this were destroyed partially
(this about 80%). International organizations and NGOs
started to finance reconstruction and new housing
construction. Reconstruction of this housing of 1927
was done thanks to financial help of LYNCY foundation.
After earthquake only outer walls of the building were
standing (everything else was destroyed), as it was a
cultural heritage building the government and foundation
intended to rebuild it comfortable for modern life.
Originally this buildings had stone walls (traditional
in Armenian 'midis') and wooden floors. Thus according to
new normative the flooring was changed in to reinforced
concrete and new anti-seismic frames were added
to the walls. Plans of apartments had been lightly
changed and new ventilation blocks appeared. However
these changes had no impacted on the facades of the
buildings.
During this project I was student of architectural faculty,
and my duty was to help with drawings (under supervision
of the chief architect) and make architectural
measurements on the site. At that time computer was
not used for designing process in Armenia, so everything
was done by hand. I was not taking designs concerning
project but I was taking part on consultations with
different engineers.
