11. Student Organization key sign out
1. ENSURE the student has permission to sign out the key using the
“student organization key sign out”
a. If the student is not listed, do not sign out the key (If the student is
listed but has not provided an e-mail address or phone number on
their organization’s key sign-out list, do not sign out the key)
b. Students can get on their organization’s key sign-out list through their
org. president who can add them to the list. We cannot add people to
the list ourselves.
c. If you have any issues, CALL A MANAGER/staff AT X-5851
2. Give the patron the key, record the date & time of key rental, and ask
them to verify their:
• full name (We only accept geneseo ids as proof of identification, do
not accept licenses)
• email address
• cell phone number
– If online info is inaccurate, it must changed online through org.
president before keys can be signed out

13. “What’s happening in the Union”
• aka “CU Events”
• Allows you to be informed on the times and locations of
Union events (people may ask where an event is located
and what time it begins)
• Based on the organization hosting the event, it may
indicate which keys you may have to sign out later on
• Gives you an idea of all the great things that happen in
the union on a daily basis!
14.
15. Today’s publicity reservations
• Allows viewing of publicity currently reserved in the Union
– Only sign out supplies to organizations who have the
corresponding publicity space reserved
• Ex.) if an organization asks to rent out chalk and there
are not any chalkboards currently reserved in the Union
under their name, you would not issue them supplies
– The same rules apply for Painted wall paints, window
markers/black sandwich board markers
– If issues arise, CALL A MANAGER/staff AT X-5851
• If materials are returned damaged, contact staff/ a manager
immediately
• If you accidentally sign out the wrong materials, contact a cu manager
so that they can correct the issue
• If someone asks how to reserve publicity spaces in the union, direct
them to http://www.geneseo.edu/union/publicity
16.
17. Who can rent out which publicity supplies?
• Ensure that the organization requesting materials has actually
reserved the publicity area by first checking “today’s publicity
reservations”
• organizations may have up to 3 types of publicity reserved at
once, so ensure that they use the correct materials in the correct
spaces
– For example, Stress that markers are to only be used on the
painted windows or swinging blackboard, and not on
chalkboards...painted wall paints may only be used on painted
wall, etc...
Chalkboard reservation = Rent out chalk to patrons
Painted window/swinging blackboard reservations = rent out markers
Reservations for the painted wall = rent out painted wall paints
