PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Qualcomm Staff Engineer – San Diego, CA Dec 95 - Present
Qualcomm Sequencer (QSEQ) Modem Technical Lead
Took ownership and lead the debugging efforts related to QSEQ RF verification for the Bolt
modem. Worked with multiple disciplines to identify, track and fix issues related to QSEQ RF
verification. Developed custom automated test sequences to isolate edge case phone crashes.
Manually configured test equipment to observe the expected waveform. Constructed custom
modem builds to isolate issues.
C, C++, C#, Trace32, Python, XML, Visual Studio, Perforce
Factory TestPlan
Defined and documented a department factory test plan used to increase the productivity of many
engineers. Coordinated with upper management and test teams to define factory readiness. The
process is still currently in place and has significantly increased the quality of factory builds.
Activity modeling, requirements definition, processimprovement
University Programs Snapdragon
Participated in three university senior projects as a Qualcomm mentor. The purpose of these
projects were to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor to build a NASA CubeSat. I
successfully lead the students through an Android design and defined the high level requirements.
This was a very rewarding experience to watch the students embrace life cycle development and
produce successfulresults.
Android, TCP/IP, UDP, Wifi Mesh OpenWrt, GPS NMEA
Founder/CEO Exposure/Direct Line Vision
Factory Stability
Responsible for embedded factory stability test issues involving CDMA,GSM, WCDMA and
LTE. Responsible for issues related to LTE mode transitions causing phone crashes or
performance issues. Able to debug and resolve issues related to clocks, PA lines, task

synchronization, SSBI settings using the Trace32 debugger, scopes and test equipment. Worked
directly with customers to resolve blocking issues.
ARM, Qualcomm diagnostic messaging (QXDM), Trace32, C, Nightly Test, Jenkins
Embedded Factory Sequencer Tool
Responsible for implementing the first Qualcomm embedded factory sequencer. Formulated a
plan to inject this new technology in the middle of a full on development effort. Successfully
integrated and merged delicate changes to an unstable code base without causing issues or
productivity losses. Successfully debugged and solved thorny memory leaks and task
synchronization issues. Developed XML unit test scripts to verify modem functionality.
Maintained and developed factory documentation externally delivered to customers.
Developed in C, Task Signaling, Message Definition ICD
Nokia Factory Bring up Lead
Leveraged an existing modem code base which became the product deliverable for the Nokia
Wynn project Responsibilities included daily integration and test of engineering changes, tracing
of CRs and project reporting. Software development tasks included the development of new
factory tests and Remote Procedure Calls (RPC). Technicallead/oversight for two engineers.
Single Chip Bring up Lead
Responsible for porting and customizing the RF modem code base for the QSC1100 RF
subsystem. Lead multiple engineers through the bring up phase of this product which required
developing custom test software which verified RF settings prior to chip arrival. The success of
this test effort lead to the record breaking bring up time of just two hours.
Globalstar Ground Operations Control Center (GOCC)
Responsible for developing the Entity Relation (ER) mode for the ground operations control
center. The model contained over 110 entities and was implemented using Oracle.
Rational Rose, Oracle OODB abstraction layer
TRW F22 Fighter – San Diego, CA April 87- Dec 95
Participated in the development of the Integrated On Board Diagnostic (IOBD) subsystem for the
F22 fighter. Developed a unit test process that was used project wide without the use of
instrumented code. Developed software for a dual robot placement system with vision.
