2. Setting:
The setting shows connations of a
school, in the 1950s. This is shown
through the positioning of the desks,
to the maps being shown making it
have that look of the 50s. Also there
are no modern technology in the
room. Like a smartphone or a tablet,
which shows this this scene is from
the past. The shot also focuses on
John Lennon who is the main focus
of the shot. Being that he is the main
character.
The setting in this still from
Guardians Of The Galaxy, has a
mystique to it. It shows the main
character Peter Quill in a very
contrasting shot where the ominous
light it shining on him and the
darkness that is around him adds to
the mystique that’s in the shot. But
also there is a lot of metal and
weaponry, with also a use of blue
light which shows that futuristic
appeal.
3. Setting:
The shot in this still from Watership
Down shows the two main characters.
Both character are showing different
emotions. The one character on the left
is scared of what is yet to come, while
the character on the right is very
optimistic and is not as emotional as his
fellow comrade. The shot lighting is
primarily a light shot. The scene is rural.
There is grass, barbed wire to connote
danger.
4. Props:
The props are shown in this shot
of Nowhere Boy shows the
character of John Lennon in his
long black coat. With his
acoustic guitar on his back
which represents his early music
career and what seems to be
plans on his right arm. There is
also a cab in the background,
which represents that movie
being a British movie.
The props in Guardians Of The Galaxy is
not as prominent. However many of the
characters like the Collector wears what
looks like a fur coat and a pair of glasses
because it represents his lavish lifestyle
that he has during the entire Marvel
franchise.
5. Lighting and colour:
The lighting and colour of this scene
from Nowhere Boy is a very bright and
very colourful scene. There is natural
lighting coming through this shot. This
is effective because it gives it a very
natural sense to it.
The lighting and colour from Guardians
Of The Galaxy, shows the movies main
antagonist Ronan. The way the light is
positioned on Ronan, shows
dominance and authority the character
has. The dark lighting contrasts with
the top lighting because it represents
his bleak anger and frustration.
6. Lighting and colour:
The lighting and colour in this
scene of Watership Down
shows the main antagonist,
bloodied up as he looks
vicious. While the shot
primarily has a lot of darkness
involved, the main colour in
the scene is a red rose blood
that is on the character. It
makes the shot standout with
how the colour appeals to the
eyes.
7. Costume, hair and make-up:
The costume and hair used in this scene from
Nowhere Boy has John and his band wearing
smartly dressed suits while performing. It
makes the individuals look smart and
presentable, with the same being said with
the way there hair looks.
We don’t see much of the costume and hair
with this still from Guardians Of The Galaxy.
However we to see the influence of the
make up on the character Drax. It makes
him stand out with his green skin and his
red ink that spreads on the upper part of his
body.
8. Facial expressions and body language.
This shot from Nowhere Boy has John Lennon
playing with his Acoustic guitar. His expression
shows a relaxed calm individual just learning to
play with his new guitar, but at the same time he
must be thinking of the bigger picture of life.
While his body language has this very relaxed
feeling about it. Calm and collective.
This shot from Guardians Of The Galaxy
has Drax preparing to have an all-out war
against the Kree Empire. We cant really
see the facial expressions on this scene,
however we see the body language that is
being portrayed. Drax is ready to fight to
the death, while the innocent civilians are
stunned and shocked of what is about to
happen.
9. Facial expressions and body language.
The shot from Watership Down shows the
characters in pure shock and in awe as they see a
fellow rabbit, bruised and scratched as he is
trying to talk to them. Also the body language
that is portrayed by the rabbits shows how
scared and frightened by what could do this and
will this happen to us.
10. Positioning and space:
When you look at this shot from Nowhere
Boy. You see John Lennon positioned at the
left side, with his guitar being spreaded across
the entire shot. Peoples eyes would instantly
see Lennon, but they would also see the
background props. Such as the radio and the
curtain.
This shot out of Guardians Of The Galaxy
shows the core group standing by one
enough which would instantly catch the
audiences eyes by how each member
looks. But also, the audiences eyes
would be attracted by the machinery
that is around the guardians.
11. Positioning and space:
The positioning of this shot from
Watership Down shows the many
rabbits in the movie around the scene.
The audience for when they see the
film, would instantly be grasped by one
of the main characters dying in front of
his friends. Which makes the scene a lot
more emotional.

The visual effects of Guardians
Of The Galaxy are a joy to
watch. The movie uses a lot of
CGI with many of its out of
space scenes. However, there is
use of make-up, models and
the use of motion-capture is
well.
