1. A Look at our Sanctuary Garden-
Located at 1020 East 10th
Street!
Celebrating 145 Years
of Service
Our friends from GE generously
supported this project, both financially
and through their extensive volunteer
efforts, which included: cleaning the
garden area, installing the privacy
fence, assembling our playground area
and picnic tables, building garden
boxes and even teaching our kids the
science of gardening and proper
planting skills!
Check out our colorful garden boxes and a few photos of
us planting vegetables for our future community garden!
The Erie Federal Credit Union and Charities for Children,
Inc. helped to fund the garden boxes, and we were so
excited to have the guidance of Lee Steadman from
BLOOM Collaborative on how to design these boxes- each
of our six classes got to decorate their own box and plant
their own veggies!
2. Now that our Sanctuary Garden looks so nice, our
next step is to replace the old, dilapidated fence
around the remainder of our lot on East 10th
Street.
We hope to complete this project before the
students come back to school in August!
And our garden wouldn’t be complete without a beautiful sign at the entrance!
Our students and staff give a big THANK YOU to our
friends at GE, Erie Federal Credit Union, Charities for
Children, Inc., BLOOM Collaborative and Yerace
Glass for making this Sanctuary Garden a reality!
