achievement gap is part of the reason teachers feel they are underpaid, which happens to be one of the leading cause in teacher shortage

Being a teacher requires passion in order to stay in the field, especially if the money in teaching is decreasing. Money is an important aspect for
people when it comes to their careers, therefore, fewer people want to become teachers. This lack of teachers and the lack of college students studying
to become a teacher leads to unqualified teachers and larger classroom sizes (Ostroff). Both of these causes are eventually affecting students' learning
environments. I chose this issue in education for my project because I have personally felt these effects, and I know others who have as well. As a
future educator, I want to see better wages and better benefits, but this can only happen with qualified, passionate teachers. I plan on being one of them,

What do you want to be when you grow up? This is the one question that every person has been asked since a young age. As a kid the answer is
usually a doctor, lawyer, detective, astronaut and so on. However, with time the answer may change depending on our journey to adulthood. In
our journey we grow and develop our ideal lifestyle. This development has an important role in our choice of career, because it's the centerpiece of

semester. I have been able to slowly but surely develop a personal education of philosophy that I hope to implement into my future classroom and the
students that will be entering into them. Until my time is done here at Franciscan and I continue on in becoming an educator, I will continually prepare
myself for the different dynamics that my classroom will have, all depending on the children entering. Whether it being me just having an inclusive
classroom or a classroom with kids with multiple disabilities. I feel that my philosophy will stay the same either which way it may go.
In preparing to become a teacher, I've been told by cooperating teachers, superiors whom I look up to, as well as through multiple classes that I've
had the privilege to take. That it is beyond important that we are aware of our student's cognitive growth, physical development, as well as their
social, and emotional needs. Through the learning of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, I will be able to see where their needs are being met and where
they aren't. If the students' needs aren't being met I will be able to pinpoint it and help in with fixing

What makes a good teacher? Essay
In my opinion, a good teacher should be one who puts her heart into teaching. This is because only by doing so will the students feel their passion
and hard work. When a teacher strives hard for the students, students will put in their effort as well. If a teacher dislikes her job, goes to classes in a
bad mood, her teaching would also be affected and students would not be able to enjoy lessons as well.
Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not
so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage

It would be better if the teacher is able to find common topics to chat with the students. This would let the students feel like they can relate better to the
teacher.
"You must not give up. I want to let you know that even if you're facing so many problems, and feel like there's no one to talk to, I'll be here for you.

and work toward our goal together!" This was what my high school teacher told me 10 years ago and I have remembered it until now, and will

I was once a problematic kid who mixed with bad company and flunk tests. I never thought about what I was going to do the next day, what more
when I grew up. Of course when I was younger, I had lots of dreams. I wanted to set up my own company, I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be
able to drive an airplane and the list went on. But as the years went by, they became less insignificant to me and soon, I forgot every single one of
those dreams and goals. I got to a new school and knew friends who smoke and took drugs. My grades started dropping from "A" to fails. But I did
not care. I could not be bothered by then. I went partying every night and got home drunk. What was the point of studying? My parents are
