4. • UK Chapter: FY17/18 Career Theme This is the second fiscal year for the UK Chapter! Our theme this
year is Career. Want to develop your career? Have a career rather than a job? This session will tell you
more about that, highlight some tips and illustrate the chapter role. What is the UK Chapter journey so
far? Successes for past fiscal year? What is the plan for this year? Know how you can play an active role
in your UK Chapter and tell us your thoughts and suggestions.
• Innovation: Hype or Hope: Innovation seems to be the business word of the day, or at least one of
them. Is it just a word, used to create “hype” from a public relations perspective? Or can it become an
ingrained capability to create differentiation, relevance and competitive advantage? How does the “age
of digital” factor in – are we all losing our jobs, or getting better jobs with some investment? Come to
this interactive session and engage in the debate, and learn more about business innovation,
governance, measurement and the role of the CFO using real examples.
• Finance and Beyond: leverage your skills: For maximum impact on your business - and your career -
management accountants need to leverage their finance skills to partner, mentor, inform and develop
their colleagues across the business. Looking at in depth practical examples from a multinational career
covering different professional responsibilities, Chris shows how in ways that apply to multiple
industries. Your take-away: a thought-provoking action plan to build your personal influencing skills.
