3. NAWAB MOHSIN-UL-MULK
Born on 9 December, 1837 in Etawah,Uttar
pradesh .
Original name:Syed Mehadi Ali
Fathers name:Mir Zamin Ali
He joined government service at the age 17
He was promoted several higher posts.
1867:He appeared for the provincial civil
services examination, secured the top rank and
became deputy collector.
4. While working of east indian company,he had
tried to create political consciousness among the
muslims
The Nizam honoured him with the titles of
‘Nawab Mohsin-ul- Mulk’ and Munir Nawab
Jung’
He withdrew from the service of Nizam in
Aligarh.
He dedicated himself to the development of the
‘Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College’which
was run by sir syed Ahmed Khan.
5. 1899:Sir Syed passed away, he took the
responsibility of college
He opposed the British orders meant to
degrade the status of Urdu language and
organized several protest programmes
establishing‘Urdu Defense Committee’ in 1900
The All india muslim league was founded in
1906 at East Bengal – Assam Provincial
Educational Conference in Dhaka in 1906.
6. He also fought for separate constituencies for
muslim,his efforts gave fruitful results in
Minto-Morley reforms and thus Muslims could
get separate electorates for them.
He withdrew himself from the direct activities
He strived for the protection of urdu language
by establishing the ‘anjuman taraqqi-i-Urdu
He convinced the people who opposed the
ideology of sir syed ahmad khan
He collected funds for the development of the
college by meeting the elites
7. He recognized the need of a separate political
organization for Muslims and garnered support
for the same from fellow Muslim leaders.
After prolonged illness Nawab Mohsin -ul-
Mulk passed away on 7th october,1907 in
shimla
