How Did You Attract/Address
     Your Audience?

Product distribution, or places or even films are one of the four elements of
the marketing mix. Distribution is the process of making a product or
service available, but in this case we are talking about films for use or can
be consumption by a consumer or business user, using direct means or
using indirect means with intermediaries.

The main aim of distribution is to promote the product and make many
people as possible be aware of the product, and attract them to want to
know more about the product. Distributing a product attracts audience and
gives everyone a taster of what is good and worthy of the product. In this
case we are taking about films so therefore distributing our film would give
audience a chance to find out for about our film and why its worth
watching.
Attract/Address Audience
Depending on the target audience for our film, we would approach
young adults as they are our target audience. One way we can address
our audience is by going to youth clubs, 6forms and college because
those are the places we are most likely to find young adults. We would
speak to the young adults in a form that they will understand and show
interest. We will get a group of young adults together in one room and
supply refreshments which will satisfy them and then get them to watch
our trailer.
We would show snippets in young adult festivals, like in youth
clubs, 6form, college and other places where young people get together. The
reason why we are focusing more on young adults is because our target
audience are young adults. We would show snippets to groups of young
adults, so we can see their reactions and know if our film has met it’s target
audience.

After showing snippets, we would then give out surveys, asking the audience
to rate the film from one to ten depending on if they would want to watch the
full film.
Before distributing the film, we will pick a group of young adults randomly and create
a focus group. We will then get them to watch the full movie and then ask them for
feedbacks and review about what they liked and disliked to make sure that we have
met our target audience and the film would be worth watching. More over depending
on the review and feedbacks we will make some changes to our film if we think it is
necessary to do so.
