Long shot of the child on the horse. You can only hear the sound of
the rocking horse in the whole park, as all the other sounds have
been blocked out to make the rocking noise of the horse affective. It
makes the rocking noise affective because it creates a sinister
atmosphere.
There is a scene of the man dressed in cow boy outfit walking out the house with a suit
case and while his walking, a title in the movie appears. ‘A JERMONE HELLMAN-JOHN
SCHLESINGER PRODUCTION’, this title has been edited to stand out in the scene as it is
bold and it is in capital letters so the audience can see it clearly as it is a important
feature.
The next title appears in the movie ‘DUSTIN HOFFMEN’ , this title is bigger in size then
the pervious title. This shows that this is another important feature in the movie but
not the same kind as the other title was smaller in size. This indicates that this must be
one of the actors name.
The scene where cross dissolve is used is when the man is looking through a glass
window and we see his reflection in the mirror. As the camera slowly zooms through
the mirror, and cross dissolves in to a memory of his past. Where we can see his
grand mother on a chair resting and a little boy giving him a message, which was him
when he was younger.
In this scene the man in sitting in a moving bus while staring at the window. His staring at
the window with facial expressions which indicates his going in to a day dream, sound
bridge appears we can hear voices of his grand mother talking and then goes in to his
flash back of his grandmother finishing of her conversation while waving at him.
