Department of Agriculture - coordinating agency for the
2011 Belize Agricultural Census
SIB assisted with recruitment and scanning of
questionnaires
Central Census office was in the capital city, Belmopan

5. Census Institutional Framework
Census Coordinators – responsible for planning and managing the
conduct of the census (training, fieldwork, payroll etc)
District Agricultural Coordinators – oversight of the census at the
district level
Extension Officers – four (4) in each district. Responsible for direct
supervision of the enumerators
Enumerators – locate the households and administer the
questionnaires

No steering committee at the national or sub-national level
All dimensions of the census (planning, implementation etc.) was
handled by the Department of Agriculture
