• Nomenclature comes from the Latin word "The
assigning of names""
• Nomenclature is a system for giving names to
things within a particular profession or field. For
instance, you may have heard of binomial
nomenclature in biology class. It refers to the way
of referring to living things by two names.
4. WHAT IS ICZN?
The International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN)
is a widely accepted convention in zoology that rules the
formal scientific naming of organisms treated as animals. It
is also informally known as the ICZN Code.
6. 1.) HAGFISH

divided into the ray finned
fish(Actinopterygii), and lobe-
finned fish (Sarcopterygii).
