To Whom It May Concern,
I have had the pleasure of working with Evelyn Basile in the admissions department at
Chamberlain College of Nursing for more than 6 years. Initially, Evelyn and I were teammates in the
Admissions Department beginning in February of 2008. Following that Evelyn reported directly to me,
the Associate Director of Admissions, from July-December of 2008, and then again from May 2011 to
November of 2013. In her role as an Admissions Advisor at Chamberlain, Evelyn has been one of the
most reliable, hard-working, and sincere individuals with whom I have worked.
Evelyn could be counted on at all times to come into work and do what was expected of her. I
never had to worry about Evelyn not being on task or getting distracted from her primary focus of
recruiting students. She was also consistently thorough with each of her students. Evelyn would receive
emails praising and thanking her every start date from students who attributed their starting classes to
Evelyn's tenacity in following up and willingness to challenge their smokescreen objections to starting
school.
Evelyn is also extremely hard working. One of my main areas of feedback was for Evelyn to use
her vacation days so she wouldn't lose them at the end of the year. Evelyn voluntarily stayed late in the
evenings during hours when no one else would. She covered Sundays when it was requested and would
come in for overtime as necessary to make sure she serviced her students appropriately. It was not
unusual to see Evelyn's car in the parking lot late in the evening after everyone else was gone.
Evelyn's sincerity is also one of her greatest strengths. It serves her well in the admissions
advisor position as our prospective students can tell that Evelyn always has their best interest as her
2. highest priority. Evelyn personality on the phone made it easy for her to build trust and rapport. Evelyn
was a great listener and a wealth of knowledge that she was willing to share.
Overall, Evelyn was a great colleague and I was very sorry when I was transferred to another
location and was unable to take her with me. She was an asset to our department and our college. She
has my 100% recommendation.
Sincerely
David Phipps
Associate Director of Admissions
