I am writing this recommendation for Karen Amen, former nursing student at
LaGuardia Community College who has graduated our RN program June 2015. She
would like to be considered for employment in your organization.
As the Coordinator of Parent-Child Health Nursing, I have the pleasure of having
Ms. Amen in lectures and skill's lab this semester, Fall 2014. She is always
engaged in learning and asks questions in class as well as participates in
discussions on Blackboard. Besides academia, Ms. Amen takes an active role in
community services through the LaGuardia Nursing Club.
I also have the pleasure of having Ms. Amen in my maternity and pediatric
clinical group at Bellevue Hospital. She demonstrates growth throughout the
maternal-child clinical rotation and seeks opportunities for learning. Ms. Amen
demonstrates effective and thorough nursing care with all her patients and
families. She is well-organized and prioritizes her patient care appropriately.
Although she demonstrates autonomy and completes tasks independently,
Ms. Amen also works well in a team approach. Furthermore, she demonstrates
ongoing, effective teaching with the patients. Ms. Amen utilizes effective
communication skills with the multidisciplinary health-care team as well as the
patients and their families. She is enthusiastic about nursing and has good
interpersonal skills.
I believe Ms. Amen will be an excellent candidate for employment
position in your institution.
