1. Assessment objective 3-Magazine (60 marks)
Use of convention (rules) and genre( print, broadcast, multimedia)
My magazine is a music magazine that is distributed through the genre print. In
this magazine I have followed and used the well-known conventions.
This shows that I followed magazine conventions and applied them to my
magazine.
2. Flat plans (sketches)
I used flat plans in the formulation of my product. I mostly used sketches. These
are my sketches for each of my product:
Cover page Contents
3. Editorial Back page advert
I strayed from most of the sketches or added on to them to make them even
better.
4. Fonts (get links)
The fonts I used in my magazine were downloaded from the website da fonts
(www.dafont.com)
I got most of my fonts from the initials and groovy section because it set the
energetic and party mood of the magazine. I used prism, ordinary guy demo,
Spranq eco sans, PWXtraThin, Ewert, Arial and Span ITC.
I used these fonts because they emphasized the youth of the magazine which
makes appeal to our target audience. Fonts such as PWXtra thin and Ewert
resemble handwriting and graffiti fonts. This made the reader comfortable with
the magazine as it had a sense of familiarity.
5. Use of language and register.
Throughout this magazine I used (American) English as I found out that it related
to majority of my target audience. I also refrained from using extremely
complicated words to avoid confusing my audience. I also used slang in my
magazine since my target audience consists of people the age of 15 to 19 years
old meaning that it appeals to them better.

the music room. It has students
helping the younger ones. This

This was the same photo taken from
another angle because in the article it
will be a continuation of the other

because the models looked more
engaged making the photo more
believable. They received the same
instructions from the previous picture
which was to look engaged. The older
students still wore uniform to show
their difference in age. The young
ones still wore PE kit to emphasize
their energy. I still used natural light in
this picture which came through the

deliberately to distinguish him from
the older students.
