5. INTRODUCTION
• Gastritis is an inflammation, irritation, or erosion of the
lining of the stomach. It can occur suddenly or gradually.
• It may occur as a short episode or maybe of long
duration.
• Symptoms are not common at all but when symptoms
are present the most common is upper abdominal pain.
6. CAUSES OF GASTRITIS
• Diet
• Helicobacter pylori
• Stress
• Alcohols and drugs
• Usage of pills over a long period of time

16. TREATMENTS
• Taking antacids and other drugs (ex-proton pump
inhibitors or H₂ blockers) to reduce stomach acid
• Avoiding hot and spicy food
• Several antibiotics,b12 vitamin shots
• Eliminating irritating foods from your diet such as
lactose from diary or gluten from wheat

18. PREVENTION
We all know a saying that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of
cure.” So taking prevention is very important.
The types of prevention for gastritis is as follows:
• Eat smaller but more frequent meals.
• Eat on time and avoid skipping meals.
• Consume less irritating foods.
• Drink alcohol in moderation.
• Quit smoking.
• Better manage your stress.
19. • Having five to six small meals a day can cause better
digestion if there is an indigestion problem.
• Eating on time prevents the gastric juice from being secreted
and cause stomach problem.
• When you Cut down on spicy, acidic, fried or fatty foods helps
reduce gastric symptoms and allows your stomach to heal.
• Alcohol in excess can weaken the stomach lining and cause
stomach ulcers. So to prevent that we have to reduce or stop
drinking alcohol.
• Smoking increases the production of stomach acid, slows
down healing and increases your risk of getting stomach
cancer.
• High stress increases the production of gastric juices in your
stomach. Exercise regularly and adopt relaxation activities
such as yoga to keep your stress in check.
