This slide shows the storage device types, we are divided into three categories: data storage, backup storage and archive storage. Data storage includes Enterprise storage and Mass data storage. In general, enterprise storage is used in customers’ traditional core business such as CRM, ERP, etc. Mass data storage is used in emerging business such as big data, videos, etc. The backup storage is used to protect important customer data such as transaction amount. The archive storage is used to meet regulatory compliance and provide historical references. And according to this product category, Huawei also has the corresponding products. We have the OceanStor Dorado of Enterprise storage, the OceanStor Pacific of Mass data storage. The backup storage is OceanProtect and the archive storage is OceanStor Pacific (HDD).
Huawei OceanStor all-flash storage can be used to serve the core application systems in a wide range of industries such as finance, carrier, medical care, and manufacturing. It ensures smooth experience in scenarios such as mobile payment, e-banking, billing, outpatient registration, inpatient management, e-commerce, and office automation.
The OceanStor all-flash storage delivers industry's highest seven-nines reliability. Let me explain in more detail. The storage tolerates failures of seven out of eight controllers and the failure of a single enclosure without service interruption. Moreover, Huawei-developed SSDs yield a 5-year return rate of just 0.8%, which is 10 times lower than that of HDDs.
When it comes to performance, the OceanStor all-flash storage delivers up to 21 million IOPS, which is 40% higher than that of our competitors. As you know, in addition to the standard I/O model, the performance must be evaluated with various features enabled. When data reduction, garbage collection, RAID 6, and snapshot are enabled, the performance of our storage decreases by only about 10% and remains stable. By contrast, the performance of other vendors' storage decreases by 40%.

The OceanStor Pacific storage for data lakes addresses the challenges of mass diversified data from the following three aspects.

We have introduced a multi-level reliability mechanism to ensure business continuity. For example, we leverage the active-active solution for block storage, asynchronous replication for unstructured data, and cabinet-level disaster recovery that can tolerate the failure of a maximum of four cabinets. It also provides comprehensive subhealth check for hardware devices and DIF-based E2E consistency check.
Developed based on Kunpeng 920 processors, OceanStor Pacific 9950 is an all-flash, high-density product with 8 nodes in a 5 U space, providing superb distributed storage performance. It features high performance, high density, optimal TCO, and high reliability.
The front panel consists of 8 independently pluggable nodes. Each node supports 10 half-palm NVMe SSDs. This means the entire system supports 80 half-palm NVMe SSDs. Each node provides 32 GB battery-protected memory to protect data in the event of a power failure.
The rear panel consists of three parts. In the upper part, there are two data cluster modules that provide two 100GE RoCE dual-plane back-end storage network ports for each node. In the middle, there are 16 I/O card modules for front-end network access, and every two modules belong to one node. In the lower part, there are six PSU slots, providing 2+2 power supply redundancy.
OceanStor Pacific 9950 adopts a full FRU design. The controller nodes, BBUs, half-palm NVMe SSDs, fan modules, data cluster modules, I/O card modules, and PSUs are independently pluggable, facilitating maintenance and replacement.

F2F2X means flash to flash to anything.
The primary storage is already flash-based, it accelerates all the scenarios and workloads running in the data center.
And next should be the backup storage. For bigger data amount with the same backup time window, we need to greatly improve the performance of backup storage. For shorten RTO and in some case instance restore for data re-use, we need definitely improve the performance of recovery.
As the industry develops, we need to think about how could the data be safely stored on the third side, like public cloud, or a private cloud in the organization, or an disk-based system , tape and blue-ray, etc.
