NETWORK

by the FEE and its national agences.
The students and teachers design and
implement eco-friendly actions at school (eg.
recycling) in a large scale multi-year
programme.The schools are awarded the
Green Flag for sustainable good practices.

21. ABOUT ERASMUS+
CIRCULAR ECONOMY
S A V E E N V I R O N M E N T
During the school years 2018-2020 53rd
Lyceum coordinated an Erasmus+ project
regarding Circular Economy.
The students and teachers not only learned
about the importance of circular economy to
the sustainability of our society, but also
produced fresh ideas about start-up companies
based on the circular economy model.

During the covid era 2020-2021 53rd Lyceum
was a part of an international 10 school
eTwinning project regarding Sustainability in
economy and society.
The students and teachers focused on
proposing ideas in order Europe to achive the
17 goals of the UN Agenda 2030 for
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.

ATHENS ECO SCHOOLS

During the school years 2017-2019 53rd
Lyceum was a part of an international school
Eco-School network coordinated by european
institutions and the City of Athens regarding
reducing the school's Eco-footprint.
The students implemented good practices in
order to reduce the school's and local
community's carbon footprint (energy saving,
