 MALAYSIAN shares ended lower on Wednesday with the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index slipping 7.29 points
to close at 1,795.88.Some 2.01 billion lots, valued at RM2.31 billion were traded. Gainers numbered 340 while
losers numbered 440.
 The ringgit closed weaker against the US dollar today as investors remained cautious over the outcome of
Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) policy meeting today, dealers said.At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at
3.6170/6200 versus the US dollar from 3.5960/5990 yesterday.A dealer said the local unit fell to reflect the
perceived risks of a surprised interest rate cut eventhough such move was seen as unlikely.
 Yinson Holdings Bhd has secured a contract for about US$2.54 billion for the charter, operation and
maintenance of a floating production storage and off-loading (FPSO) vessel from Eni Ghana Exploration and
Production Ltd.The contract is via a consortium of its wholly-owned subsidiary and joint venture company,
Yinson Production (West Africa) Pte Ltd (YPWA), and Yinson Production West Africa Ltd (YPWAL).YPWA is the
FPSO chartering company. YPWAL is engaged in the operation and maintenance of the FPSO.
 Eversendai Corp Bhd shares continue to rise for the third consecutive day after the company clinched a
RM184 million contract by an Indian firm on Friday.Yesterday, the stock climbed 1.67 per cent or a sen higher
to 61 sen yesterday with 3.9 million units traded compared to 60 sen and 2.6 million units respectively on
Monday.This was on the back of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI gaining 6.73 points to 1,803.17.Eversendai said
the contract was for the the construction of the Dhirubhai Ambani International Convention and Exhibition
Centre in Mumbai.
 Malaysia's Sime Darby Bhd, the world's top oil palm planter by land size, said on Wednesday it had obtained
the European Commission's approval to buy New Britain Palm Oil Ltd for about US$1.74 billion.Sime Darby
said in a stock exchange filing the clearance was obtained on Tuesday.The company had announced in
October the proposed acquisition with a view to adding high yielding plantations that can immediately boost
its earnings.
 Malaysia's Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has stepped up its diesel exports in January and will continue to
do so through the rest of this year after it took full control of a joint-venture refinery in Malacca, traders said
on Wednesday.
