4. My Life
I am Frederick Abila and I am
currently 18 years old. This is an
excerpt about my life and how
technology shaped my world. At
the age of 12, I embarked on a
quest to explore the internet with
my dad's laptop. I had to plead
countless times to get full access
to use his laptop for my research.
By the age of 14, I had become
proficient in English and navigating
the web, which led me to write my
first storybook. However, it wasn't
enough for me, so I delved into
acquiring more skills and fell in
love with coding. I learned my first
few programming languages and
started building. Initially, I built for
fun, but when I later realized that
technology could change the world,
I decided to build innovations with
a purpose."
That's when my real journey began.
Even at a younger age, I started
preferring the company of older
people rather than my peers. I
despised the company of my peers
because all they ever used to discuss
were games, movies, and things I felt
were a waste of time. Technology
widened my vision and allowed me to
see things better than my colleagues
did. I believe I have gathered enough
skills in different fields, which makes
me a literal 'Jack of all trades.' I used
to think of myself as an innovator
because I believe my ideas will one
day change theworld.

5. My Dream
"Just Do It".
Buzz Chat was coinedfrom
my previously terminated project
Daily Gh Buzz. Daily Gh Buzz was
an E-commerce Platform but it
quite did not match its name. Back
then when I was 15 I developed
that platform and just handed a silly
name to it. Later after
I amassed 600 users I got
complains about the name. It
just did not make sense to me
again. Just after a few months, I
lost interest in that project. I just
built it because I was learning
how to code and I did not have
much interest in it. But one thing
I could not let go was the word
"Buzz". It sounded quite special
and unique to me.
I don't even know how the thought
struck but I just wanted to do it.
Then it stuck. That's how I came about
the name Buzz Chat. I did not have much
plans about how it was supposed to turn
out to be. All I knew was that I had to
make something that no one in my
country had ever had success doing and I
also had to make sure that it was
something that will bring honor and
prestige to my family and country. That's
when I started Buzz Chat. Little did Iknow
that this would grow to become a platform
that services different groups and
networks of people and would become
the talk of the town.

This is the screen you need
to navigate to as a first time
user. It allows you to setup
a new account for Buzz
Chat. On this screen users
can join the Community
and make new connections
while getting access to a
wide range of tools.

profile. It helps to visually
aid you on how to see
how your profile looks
like to others. It contains
some basic elements like
displaying how many
posts you've created so
far, the number of
connections you have
had and the number of
connections you've
made
In this screen one of the
most important elements
in the settings. The
settings allows you to
control and manage your
profile and contains a
wide range of tools that
allows you to access
certain functions and
capabilities.

You can simply invite a
friend to join Buzz Chat.
Once they join, you can
visit their profile and
connect with them. In
turn, they may also
connect with you

feature
In the search screen, you
can simply connect with
someone by searching
their name. You can also
find true connections by
searching for users using
their phone numbersor
e-mails.
3. Directly in the feed
Most connections can be
made directly throughthe
feed. By analyzing a
user's content
preferences, you can
determine if they might
be interested in being
your friend or not.
Therefore, by actively
engaging in the feed,you

Building connections on Buzz Chat can be
done in several ways. As a user, it should be
a priority to make connections that last a
lifetime and can be beneficial.

your first
post

13. This screen allows you
to create a new post.
You can reach this
screen by clicking the
rounded blue button in
the lower right corner of
the timeline.
It contains a textbox and
some interactive buttons.
In the text box, you can
type exactly what you
want to publish but it
should be void of
profanity since the
system does not allow
that.
The three extra buttons
from the left below the
boxes are for uploading
images, videos and gifs
respectively.
The post limit (600
characters left) varies
depending on the
amount you have in your
Buzz Bucks balance.
The more you have, the
more characters you can
write.

tool to generate content
based on the parameters
you provide. Below the
"Need inspiration, let..."
You can see some
multiple text inputs. One
allows you to enter a
description to generate
an image and the other
allows you to generate
text content
These tools are helpful if
you need help planning
out your content. It is not
advisable to abuse them
because they are only
meant to allow you
create flawless content
and not to replace your
ability in planning out
good content
You can select a tone for
the AI and it will generate
content similar to that
tone.

•The timeline is a personalized feed
that shows posts from people you
connect with. It allows you to stay
connected and make real connections
with others. You can share updates
about your life, engage with posts
through likes and comments, and
discover interesting content. The
timeline fosters relationships, keeps
you informed, and creates a sense of
community in the digitalworld.

the Timeline
This is a feed item. It
stands as a single post
which you will see most
often in the timeline.
It consists of the following.
1. Heart Icon- It is used to show
a like or dislike on a post.
Tapping it means you like a
users' post and when you tap
again it goes back to its
original state which means
you don’t
2. Comment – This is next after
the like and you can tap it if
you want to express a
concern over the post. It’s a
way of interaction with the
user and others who have
commented or will comment.

button which allows you
to instantly share
someone's post to your
feed/ your connections

you to see the actual
number of people who
have viewed yourpost.
5. Fact Checker- That is
the fancy icon that looks
like a bulb. It allows you
to confirm/ fact-check a
post to verify if the
information provided in
the post is true or false
6. More menu – These
are the three horizontal
dots shown in the the
upper right corner ofthe
post. It helps you view
some extra items like
copying post link,
reporting post, viewing
likes etc.

This is a display of the
settings screen. It
contains a wider variety
of applicable tools for
setting your profile and
other actions on Buzz
Chat.

works exactly as its name says.
1. Profile – Used for editing profile
related info like name, gender,
username, etc.
2. Change Password – Allows a
user to change theirpassword
provided they know their
existing password.
3. Visibility – Allows you to select
options which either makes you
visible and interactable with
other users.
4. Social Media- It allows you to
setup or display your other
social media platforms on Buzz
Chat so that you can have a
wider network where people
can connect with you through
other channels.
5. Buzz Commerce – Users who
have access can use this section to
setup their shop on Buzz Chat and
market their products to other Buzz
Chat user's. Buzz Commerce is only
intended for selling productsalready
included in another sales channel.
Sales are not handled directly on
Buzz Chat hence you need to be
selling elsewhere like whatsapp,
amazon, ebay etc.
6. Buzz Bucks – This is a virtual
currency that is used within Buzz
Chat to access certain sections of
the app. By clicking on the option in
settings, you can view your Buzz
Bucks balance, transfer BuzzBucks
to others, watch ads for free Buzz
Bucks and even buy Buzz Bucks

contains a variety of tools that can
help one start a new businessand
even scale an existing business. It
contains tools that can help
support businesses along their
journeys.
9. Artist's Corner – This screen
helps one generate digital art. It
can be used to create art and
images of different varieties by
using our predefined prompts or
entering your own. Art made can
either be used as a profile or cover
image or exported for other use.
10. Account Review Generator – It
analyzes data from your Buzz Chat
Profile and gives an accurate
review of ways you can maximize
the potential of your account and
profile.
11. Support – Support allows you to
get help from a live Buzz Chat agent
who will help you navigate your way
through Buzz Chat.
12. Advertise – It allows you to
create ads on Buzz Chat that will
reach a wider audience on Buzz
Chat.

Commerce

about?
Buzz Commerce is a tool that
allows people to display their
products on Buzz Chat. Buzz
Chat is not a major commerce
app but serves as a way of
marketing and driving sales. To
use Buzz Chat commerce a
seller needs to have a major
selling centre such as amazon,
ebay, jumia, whatsapp etc. The
whole purpose of this is toallow
users to list their products on
Buzz Chat to be able to drive
more sales
How to get
started
As a first time seller, you will find an
option called Buzz Commerce in your
settings screen. On opening it you will
find some form fields. You need to fill
those fields with the appropriate data
requested. Toprevent scams and
distribution of fake products, we will
carefully analyze the data and a
member of the verifications team will
email you within 1 week either
approving or disapproving your
request. Approved members can go
back to their Buzz Commerce screen in
settings and the commerce dashboard
will be activated allowing you to create
a shop and adding new products.

can view a wide catalogue
of products here and also
search for a preference
using the search bar.

Distribution" button empowers

for the purpose of distributing

channels. For instance, if you
currently have an Amazon
account and are solely
distributing your products on
that platform, reaching out to
our support team will enableus

inspired
these?

43. Most of these features were developed as a figment of
my imagination. I am actually someone who feels I can
always do better and believe the sky is not thelimit.
Over the years I have been thinking of humanity in
several ways. Whenever I face I challenge I try my
best to make sure someone else doesn't face that
challenge not because I am trying to cheat nature but
because I did not feel good facing that particular
challenge and wouldn't want someone else
experiencing that same fate. Some features like
MentDep was developed to help battle the rising rate
of suicide. Once I felt so depressed that I sometimes
would wish bad things for myself and would pray so
much they happen to me. It was really tough going
through those and my "Ghanaian" parents would only
scold me for having these thoughts not caring about
my mental health because that's not how African
societies are brought up. It is very rare to have your
parents caring about your mental health no matter how
much they love you. Due to this MentDep was born. I
overcame depression on my own and no one ever
knew I had been through it. I mustered enough
strength and courage and did it on myown.
I can't say same for a lot of people out there who
go through similar. Gathering strength to overcome
depression is not so easy and sometimes it takes a
listening ear to put you out of your misery but in
most cases there is no one to turn to. That is the
whole idea of MentDep, to be there when no oneis
ready to listen. Tooffer a listening ear always and
provide ways to help you freshen up on positive
thoughts. Most of the features were built on my
personal experience in certain areas. They were
built just to provide easier alternatives to many
pressing issues. I believe Buzz Chat is going to
solve many issues out there and integrating all
these in a social networking app will help you do
what matters most while meeting new people
online.
