“We go toTeams to work,” Naomi Souza, Director of Presence and Assets,
RealFoundations.
• Teams is where you do day to day work, with a defined group of people – your
team.
• Yammer is where you ask questions to find answers and share knowledge.
“Yammer is that virtual water cooler that you go to when you’re not quite sure who
might benefit from the interaction or who might have the answer that you’re
looking for,” Naomi Souza.

Laurie has touched on best practices.
I want to show you an example of a best practice team, from RealFoundations, a professional real estate services firm headquartered in Houston.
Naomi works in Dallas. Her team is in Chennai, India. Yet every day they work together on the same projects in Teams.
They do this by doing a post every day called What I’m Doing Today.
Each team member does a short post about what they’re working on. Naomi can manage her team this way, work can be picked up and there is a repositoray of what they’ve worked on.
What sort of team do you think #WhatI’mDoingToday would be?
In the report we have a section on People Analytics ... So you are getting a preview look here.
Lets look firstly at the topic that Rob Cross writes on a lot...collaborative overload.
What we have here is interaction profiles of the more active individuals from our sample.
By using the personas we can start to differentiate between activity and cognitive overload.
A good example of this is this person up here who is pumping out broadcasts at a great rate.
Broadcasters can just pump stuff out there as they don’t really care much how people respond ... Not much overload there,
However if you are an engager or responder you have to read and internalize every post that you respond top ... This is much more draining
And as you can see these people a doing discussion posts or chat messages at 2 a minute .... Overload?
Now if you are one of the people at the top here you may not even realise you are overloaded. But if you see it in the context of what everyone else is doing ... the classic nudge, you probably don’t need much convincing if you were told to slow down a bit.
