Emilija Lale is a music teacher and choir director from Macedonia who has had a successful career as a performer, conductor, and educator. She holds degrees in Music Education and Choir Conducting from universities in Macedonia and had a performing and teaching career there before moving to Canada in 2004. Since then, she has maintained a music teaching studio and established a Slavic chamber choir called CYRILIKA to promote Slavic choral music in Canada. The choir has won several awards at music competitions in Canada.

republic of Yugoslavia, where she earned a Bachelorʼs Degree in Music
Education and a Masterʼs Degree in Choir Conducting."
During the course of her musical journey, Ms.Lale performed her talent, energetic
strength, musicality, conducting technique, preparation of the stylish
characteristics of the choral score and magical suggestion to the ensemble, while
demonstrating her extraordinary creative abilities in her own personal
interpretative conception."

After completing her post-graduate studies, Emilija had a prolific and impressive
performing and teaching career. She held an Assistant Professor of Choir
Conducting position at the Faculty of Music Arts, University of Skopje,
Macedonia, while directing the Choir of the Faculty of Music Arts, and the Mixed
and the Youth Female Choir at the Youth Cultural Center."
With all three ensembles, Emilija had successful concerts and performances
throughout Europe at various choir competitions and festivals, winning multiple
awards, some of which include: Summa Cum Laude at the Balkan Youth Festival
in Litohoro, Greece, City of Berlin Award for the most successful performance at
the Berlin Choir Festival, and the first place at the Austrian Choir Competition in
Bad Ischel, Austria. Her choirs also performed for the Macedonian motion picture
projects, such as “Golemata Voda” (the Great Water)."
Since she moved to Canada in 2004, Emilija has maintained a successful music
teaching studio, educating young talents in piano performance, music theory,
history, counterpoint and music analyses, practicing the curriculum of the Royal
Conservatory of Music. Her students are achieving highest marks on the RCM
exams, and are multiple recipients of various awards at Canadian piano
competitions."
Her latest project is “CYRILIKA” Slavic Chamber Choir, enthusiastic group of
amateur singers which she established with the idea of"
promoting the Slavic choral and cultural heritage and presenting it to the
Canadian audience."
In 2015, Cyrilika was awarded two golden diplomas at the Kiwanis Music
Festival, as well as scholarship for the most inspirational performance."
The same year the choir earned two Runner-up positions at the Performing Arts,
BC Choir competition. "
