Possesses a PHD in Global Environmental Studies, from Kyoto University. An analytical
mind utilizing an extensive knowledge base in environmental management, land rights, and
fresh water management, policy and planning. Research papers published on, and
presentations given on development-induced displacement of local populations, and the
geopolitics of resources, their availability and exploitation. A Masters in International
Relations and Diplomacy, training in mediation and negotiation, an international education,
and living in over five countries around the globe, has led to a cultural sensitivity and
awareness that engenders empathy and curiosity and facilitates communications across
cultures and backgrounds.
