Description of Activities
-Arrival – Students will be greeted on campus by a registration team comprised of Messiah College
volunteers. Student accountability is critically important. Our students will be checked in one-by-
one and provided a welcomepacket consisting of:student folder containing an agenda and key
pieces of additional information for the day and a student name tag.
- OpeningCeremony – A Messiah College representative will do the formal introduction to
welcomeall the students. Risk management will be discussed; it is an introduction to the rules on
campus and what to do if there is an emergency.
-WorkshopSessions -Thefocus of these activities is helping students develop interest and
excitement in exploring new areas of learning while getting to see other parts of the campus. We
want students to attend a workshop they may be interested in, and then become intrigued and
excited by what Messiah College students provide them in the way of new and relevant information.
Eachsession willtarget our students by connecting prior knowledge withnew information.
Consequently, helping to peak their interest and perhaps affirming what they already know or in
some cases provide an explanation of whatthey did not know.
-Lunch& Dinner–Lunchand dinner are free. They will take place in Lottie, the campus dining hall.
-Movie– The students will watcha documentary film with a discussion to follow.

thoughts before staff provides some final reflections on our day together.
