ValetBasket is a grocery delivery service founded by 4 alumni from Fuqua School of Business. It allows users to create grocery lists online, place orders, and have groceries delivered to their doorstep. This saves users time from grocery shopping. Currently, ValetBasket has partnerships with Indian grocery stores, over 250 users, and is looking to expand. Future plans include partnering with more stores, developing a mobile app, hiring delivery agents, and making improvements to the website.

Business Alums who wanted to start their own enterprise and write their own
destiny .

Conjoinz was founded in June 2015 and ValetBasket is the first venture which
focuses on grocery shopping and delivery services.

The Problem :
• Grocery shopping , a common task for households, is a time consuming activity.
• It takes time to create a grocery list, drive to and from the grocery store, and shop for all
the items.
• Sometimes, this involves multiple trips to multiple stores.
The ValetBasket Solution :
• ValetBasket provides a web portal for users to create their grocery list, place orders and
schedule the delivery of the groceries to the door step, saving time for the users
conveniently.

• Users create an account on ValetBasket’s portal.
• On the web portal, users can browse for grocery items, with pictures and descriptions.
• Users can select items and the quantities, to create their grocery list.
• Once the grocery list is created, users can place the order.
• A friendly ValetBasket shopper will call back to confirm receipt of the order and clarify any
questions there are, for grocery items/ quantities/or if items are unavailable at the store.
• For orders placed before 5 p.m., deliveries are done between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. the same
day, with Cash-on-delivery for payment. Currently payments are cash (app), check, or credit
card.
• We run few promotions for first time orders, and for Morrisville residents. We also have a
few weekly/seasonal promotions.

• Acquired first partner within 3 months from launch of the company !
• We have currently partnered with ApnaBazar Indian grocery store.
• Built out 3rd version of our web portal to match business needs within an year !
• Web portal is up and running smoothly !
• We had a successful trial period and have signed up over 250 users , with several customers
placing repeat orders !
• We have been getting a lot of good feedback on the need for this service and are excited
with the response !

• Currently looking at expanding to 2 more stores : Grand Asia and Grand India grocery stores.
• We plan to expand to ‘regular’ grocery stores such Publix, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods.
• Web portal is being expanded to bring the inventories of the new partner stores and is
continuously being updated for ease of use.
• We also intend to build a mobile app for users and shopping agents.
• We are in the process of recruiting for shopping and delivery agents.

There are plenty of opportunities at ValetBasket.
• We are looking for interns with Marketing background to help us with our product
marketing and customer engagement efforts
• To support our expansion with multiple partners, we need help building a database of items
carried by our partners which includes cataloging of inventory items and uploading it to our
web site.
• We are constantly striving to improve our user experience and as such our web portal needs
continuous improvements. We are always on the lookout for candidates who can work on
web site support.
