Established in 1906 was Hafez Elsayed Elbarbary Co. Ltd. by its founder, the late Hafez Elsayed
Elbarbary, as a privately owned company in the old port city, Suakin on the Red Sea. The business was
then moved to the city of Port Sudan.During the early years, the company was primarily based in the
market of steel production, timber trade and export of many local products.
