characters in myths. In addition to explaining events in
nature, some myths also present a lesson on how to
live, or serve as a warning to follow society’s rules.
The Text “Daedalus and Icarus” is a myth. It discusses adventures
and mistakes of heroes or characters.
Look For How does Icarus get himself into a difficult situation? As
you read this myth, look for what Icarus did to escape
from Crete.
